Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Felicity and Barry were walking side by side, heading to a nearby café, when a man suddenly pointed a gun at them.

"Give me your wallet," the man growled, cocking the gun.

Felicity was startled by the sudden threat and felt a surge of fear, but she took comfort in Barry's presence. Barry, however, looked completely uninterested and even annoyed.

As Felicity fumbled for her wallet, Barry calmly stepped forward, unfazed.

The man noticed and took a step back, his voice sharp with warning. "Don't move!"

Felicity froze, unsure what to say, but before the man could pull the trigger, Barry swiftly delivered a roundhouse kick, knocking him out cold.

Felicity stared in shock and amazement.

"Let's go, Felicity," Barry said, already walking away as if nothing had happened.

She hurried to catch up. "Since when can you do something like that?" she demanded.

Barry shrugged. "A few days ago."

Felicity eyed him with suspicion but decided to let it go, for now.

When they arrived at the restaurant and sat facing each other, Barry hesitated before placing his order.

After they had both chosen their meals, they began to talk.

"So, how's the new job at Palmer Technologies?" Barry asked.

"Just the usual secretary work," Felicity replied.

Barry smirked. "Right. 'Usual.' Got it."

Felicity smiled. "You weren't this cheeky before."

"I'm comfortable now. Why hold back?" he said.

"Fair point," she said. "Have you caught up on any TV shows or movies lately?"

"Nope," Barry answered. "Too busy, remember?"

"Well, what if after work, we go see a movie?" Felicity suggested.

Barry shrugged. "Sure. What were you thinking?"

"There's a new popular one, Gone Girl. Interested?"

"Alright," Barry agreed. "But don't be mad if I get a call from the CCPD about a case."

Felicity rolled her eyes. "Please, I'm not that petty."

Barry grinned. "You never know."

"Are you generalizing women, Barry?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

He averted his gaze. "No idea what you're talking about."

Felicity studied him for a moment before the waiter arrived with their food.

As they ate their food, Barry broke the silence with a question. "How's the team doing these days?"

Felicity paused before answering, "One of Oliver's closest friends was killed by an assassin. We're still tracking down the perpetrator."

Barry nodded.

"Any leads yet?" he asked.

"Not yet," Felicity admitted. "Our prime suspect is Merlyn, but he has an alibi."

"Could he have hired someone?" Barry suggested.

"Unlikely,"Felicity whispered. "Whoever killed Sara had the skills to do it themselves."

"What if he brainwashed someone?" Barry countered.

Felicity's eyes widened. "That… actually makes sense. Hold on, I need to tell Oliver."

"Go ahead," Barry said.

Felicity grabbed her phone and stepped outside to make the call.

As Barry glanced around the restaurant, he took another bite of his food and thought, 'I should've ordered more.'

. . . .

After they separate, the Flash roams around the city, using it as a training ground to push his speed even further.

Running at full strength, he leaves deep footprints in the road without even noticing.

'I need to master vibrational ability even better,' the Flash thinks. 'Sure, I can phase though it took me a whole night just to learn that. But now I need to use vibrations to open portals like Cisco did, using pure speed alone, not Speed Force abilities.'

In the CW series, the original Flash didn't time travel through pure speed. Instead, he relied on the Speed Force to open temporal portals. But this Flash is determined to explore every possible application of his powers.

Still, he can't focus too much on experimentation right now he needs to increase his speed first. That's why he's only honing the most versatile abilities, saving other techniques for later.

Spotting a balloon stuck in a tree and a child jumping helplessly to reach it, the Flash snatches the balloon and kneels to hand it over.

"Here you go," the Flash says with a smile.

The child startles at his sudden appearance but takes the balloon.

As the Flash stands, the boy asks, "Mister, are you a superhero?"

"I am," the Flash replies, nodding.

"But what's your name? If you're a superhero, I wanna tell my mom I met one!" the child says excitedly.

"The Flash," he answers before speeding away.

The boy stares in awe at the display of power.

"Wow, that was awesome!" he exclaims.

Meanwhile, the Flash continues running through the city, saving people as he goes. After a while, he notices the deep footprints he's been leaving behind.

'I should have better control by now,' he thinks with a sigh.

"Guess I need to fix this," he mutters, heading to the nearest library to research how to repair concrete and stone slabs.

Once he finds the information he needs, he leaves and speeds to a nearby concrete factory. He takes some fresh concrete mix, pours it into a bucket, and begins repairing the damaged roads. After filling the cracks, he cools the material instantly by generating a miniature cyclone with his hands.

He repeats the process across the entire city, fixing every footprint he left behind. As for the broken stone slabs, he replaces them entirely, making sure every damaged spot is restored.

The task takes all day, and by the time he finishes, the sun has already set. Thankfully, he manages to complete everything. With the repairs done, he returns to his forensic lab, changes back into his casual clothes, and wraps up his remaining work.

As soon as he leaves the CCPD, he sends a message to Felicity.

Barry: Just finished my work for the day. I'll get ready and then pick you up for the theater.

Felicity replied within seconds.

Felicity: I'll be ready, see you soon. Pick me up at the Orangewood Inn.

Barry: Got it. See you soon.

With that, Barry headed home, took a quick shower to freshen up, and changed into a gray polo shirt and black pants.

Next, he stopped by a car rental company and picked out something simple yet comfortable, a Honda Civic in blue.

Once he arrived at the Orangewood Inn, he texted Felicity.

Barry: I'm outside in a blue Honda Civic.

Felicity: Okay.

She glanced around, spotted the car, and slid into the passenger seat.

Barry's eyes flicked to her blue dress, and he smiled. "You look nice today."

Felicity noticed he'd dressed up too and returned the compliment. "You too."

As Barry pulled out onto the road, he glanced at her. "Did you get the tickets yet?"

"I bought them early in case they sold out," Felicity replied.

"Good call. Where's the theater?"

"Just a few blocks away. I checked the reviews—it has four stars."

"Cool." Barry kept his eyes on the road.

Felicity studied the car's interior. "I didn't know you had a car."

"I don't. This is just a rental," he admitted.

She chuckled. "You're really honest, you know that?"

Barry raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong with that?"

"Nothing. I just think it's cute."

A small smile tugged at his lips.

Soon, they arrived at the theater. After parking, Barry turned to her. "Want anything to snack on during the movie?"

"Just a small popcorn," Felicity said.

"Got it. Wait here." He headed to the counter and returned with a small popcorn and a water bottle.

Felicity tilted her head. "Just water? Aren't you hungry?"

"Nah, I'm good. If I eat too much, I'll just zone out during the movie."

With a playful roll of her eyes, she looped her arm through his, and they walked into the theater together.
