Mother told me that the principle behind Summon Creation was rooted in… understanding the basics of Creation Magic.
Creation magic is the power the gods themselves wielded. My parents have only barely scratched the surface of it after years of research, experimentation, and practice.
They found several ancient grimoires in Skyarnia when they first arrived with the other heroes—treasures left behind by the gods to help the Heroes grow, learn, and rise to meet the threat of the Demon King.
Through learning the rudiments of Creation Magic, they gained the ability to temporarily breathe life into magic itself, forming pseudo-spirits—beings they could mass-produce.
If I recall correctly, they were able to make dozens of these during the war against the demons.
It makes sense now why kings and warlords wanted to use Heroes as weapons. If they can just mass-produce supernatural guardians, they could crush any army.
But my parents always say the same thing: Heroes were made to protect humanity—not conquer it.
Anyway, seeing those summoned winged warriors appear out of thin air, I couldn't help but ask my mother how she even did it.
"It's quite simple, actually. Just visualize the being you want and will it into existence. They don't last forever, though. Their time here is limited unless you infuse more mana into them regularly. They'll be guarding our home while we're away," mother explained.
"Now… Create Summon: Fire Beasts."
FLASH!
Father created another dozen beings. These ones were all made of flames—each varying in shape and size. Some looked like fiery birds, others like blazing cows, and one massive one even resembled a flaming bear.
A dozen fire beasts joined the dozen angels. That should be more than enough to hold off any trouble.
"Let's make a big one too, just in case," Father added. "If Beelzebub knew our location, there's a chance others from the Demon King's army do too."
"Agreed. Let's synchronize our magic," mother nodded.
Their auras began to intertwine—fire and light spiraling together.
"Holy Fire Guardian."
FLASH!
In an instant, a 10-meter-tall divine warrior emerged. He looked like the angels, but grander. Towering in gold and red armor, with three pairs of wings and three fiery halos, he held a massive flaming blade and a glowing shield.
"That should stall even a high-ranking demon general," Father said confidently.
"Hopefully… Creation Magic always makes me dizzy," Mother sighed.
Then, she raised her staff again.
"Summon Familiar."
A large magic circle formed on the ground as a giant white owl emerged, its feathers shimmering with radiant light. Aquamarine eyes scanned us with calm intelligence.
"So… transport duty again?" the owl asked in a sarcastic tone.
"You've always been transport," Mother replied dryly.
"Ah, what a fate… from Keeper of Records to glorified taxi," he sighed, lowering his back so we could climb on.
"You're not going to greet my son, Eustace?" Father asked.
The owl turned to me. His huge face was almost the size of my entire body.
"…My apologies. Hello, young man," he said, gazing into my eyes. "You must be Leon. You've got your father's glare, but a certain elegance from your mother. Hmph… never thought those two would settle down, yet here you are. I'll carry you to your destiny."
"Thanks… I'm Leon."
"Don't let his size intimidate you—Eustace is one of our most loyal familiars," Mother told me.
"If he wasn't scared by Nikko, he won't be scared by Eustace," Father chuckled.
"What?! That flame-tailed vixen got to meet him before I did?" Eustace protested.
"Don't call Nikko a vixen, Eustace," Father said sternly.
"Apologies…"
"Yes, she met him earlier. You were still asleep, and we didn't want to wake you just to show off," Mother replied.
"Yet you call on me to carry you around…"
"You've got wings and a large back. It's obvious," Father shrugged.
Anyway, I climbed onto Eustace's back. His feathers were soft and fluffy—it was surprisingly comfortable.
We'd packed all our things inside a magic backpack, which Mom called a spatial bag. Apparently, it could store a ridiculous number of supplies despite being so small.
"All set. Now, Eustace, take us to Nepheline's place. You remember where that is, right?" Mother asked.
"I remember all things," Eustace replied, spreading his massive wings.
FLAAAAASH!
The wind blew fiercely against my face as we rose through the sky. My stomach twisted, and for a moment, I thought I might hurl.
But Mom hugged me tightly from behind and whispered gently.
"Calm down, Leon… it's alright… I'm here."
A spell wrapped around me, soothing and warm. I felt the nausea vanish, replaced by peace.
"Thanks, Mom…"
"Look now, we're already above the clouds."
I opened my eyes—and gasped.
The world above was endless. A pristine, azure sky stretched in every direction. The sun blazed bright above us, lighting the world with warmth.
And below… a vast ocean of clouds, rolling endlessly like waves.
It was breathtaking.
What a sight…
