Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Lukas Volkoff's POV

The room was dark. The only light flickered from the edge of his cigarette — burning slow, bitter, and dangerous. Just like him.

He sat there, motionless, surrounded by silence... but his mind?A storm.

Tonight wasn't supposed to go like this.

He didn't plan to stop.He didn't plan to save her.But fate — or maybe obsession — had other plans.

The moment his car screeched to a halt, and her broken figure collapsed right in front of him, he knew.It was her.

The woman he had been watching from the shadows. The woman whose file he had read a hundred times.Whose face haunted his sleepless nights. The one he was never supposed to get involved with.

And yet… he touched her.

Held her.

Saved her.

And it didn't lessen the obsession.

It fueled it.

She was real now — not just a picture on a report or a name on paper.Real. Flesh and blood.Bruised, broken… beautiful.

And now that she had fallen into his world — he had no plans to let her go.

It wasn't her beauty that obsessed him.

Though God knows —She was the kind of beautiful that made the world slow down.

Soft, unblemished skin like moonlight had kissed every inch of her.Lush waves of chestnut hair spilled like silk over her shoulders. Her eyes — warm, haunted — held galaxies of things unspoken. Her lips, delicate and curved like poetry left unfinished.Everything about her screamed elegance, mystery, and danger wrapped in human skin.

But no —It wasn't any of that. Not the way she looked now.

It was who she had been.Who she was to him.

She was just five…And he was already fifteen, a boy hardened by the streets, anger, and the kind of pain no one survives untouched. But somehow — she was the stronger one.She was the light in that rotting hell.Tiny hands that wiped his blood.Small arms that wrapped around him when he couldn't even hold himself up.A fragile little girl… who showed him what it meant to be human.

She was the only soul who stayed when everyone else disappeared. No judgement. No fear. Just silent, stubborn love.

And now, years later, he saw her again. She didn't recognize him.Didn't remember the boy she once saved.

But he remembered everything.

That night — when she stepped in front of his car, half-conscious, bleeding, broken —It was like fate had brought her back. Not as the child he once knew,But as the woman he had unknowingly spent his whole life waiting for.

And now?

Now that he had seen her again,Now that he had touched what he thought he'd lost forever…

There was no going back.

She would remember. And he would make sure of it —Even if it destroyed them both.

She would remember. And he would make sure of it —Even if it destroyed them both.

He leaned back in his chair, shadows dancing across his face, the cigarette burning slowly between his fingers.

The smoke curled around him like a ghost, but his mind was fixated on only one thing —Her.

The little girl who once saved him.The woman who unknowingly owned him now.

She didn't know it yet…But she belonged to him.

And he?He would have her — no matter what it took.

Even if it meant crossing every line.Even if it meant dragging her into the very darkness she once pulled him out of.Even if it meant ruining her.

Because obsession wasn't a choice. It was a curse. And she was his only cure.

And now…

He was already working on his plan —to make her his.

As a mafia heir, he had learned early on:Everyone had a weakness.

Some were driven by greed.Others by fear. And some… by love.

He had people watching her every move. Her routines. Her allies. Her enemies.

He knew where she got her coffee. What time she preferred silence. What name she whispered in her sleep when the nightmares came.

He wasn't just obsessed. He was calculated.

To the world, she was a flame —untouchable, proud, defiant.

To him, she was the girl who once gave him kindness in a world full of cruelty. She was the only memory of innocence he had left.

But he had no intention of staying in the shadows anymore.

He would enter her world.Destroy every wall she built. And when she broke?

He'd be there —Not to catch her…

But to claim her.

Because she was his,and the world would soon learn what happenedto anyone who stood between Lukas Volkoff and what was his.
