Yuki returned to the office and was not surprised not to find the important men in the boss's office. The cushions had also disappeared.
She worked without seeing Durin again for a few hours. Just as she was about to close the office, the phone rang.
"Yuki, I'm waiting for you in the building's parking lot." Durin said and hung up.
Yuki frowned in puzzlement, but hurried to close the office and went down in the elevator.
Durin was standing next to the car door and as soon as she got in without asking any questions, he sat down next to her and the driver drove off through the streets of Michigan.
"Where are we going?"
"Do you need to buy any clothes? We're getting married tonight. Unfortunately, I can't wait. But I promise that once we're legally married, I'll take part in any ceremony you and your family deem necessary."
"I don't want to get married traditionally, if that's what you're wondering."
"Every woman dreams of that day, with the dress, the party, the trip..."
"... and a groom in love." Yuki added. "No. I don't wish for any of those things, boss."
He looked at her puzzled.
"How old are you, Yuki?"
"Twenty-five, why?"
"I thought you were at least fifty." He said with amused eyes.
"WOW. That was... The most romantic thing a future husband could say to his fiancée." She said sarcastically.
"I didn't mean to offend you, but... You're my description of a woman in her fifties, a virgin, single and with no friends. You seem to be a very bitter person."
Yuki glared at him.
"I'm none of those things."
"I would never realize, Yuki. You fake it very well."
Yuki shut up, wanting to hit him.
They stopped in front of a bridal store.
Durin went in behind Yuki. But she refused to choose anything. Durin had to choose for her. While she changed, he left. When he returned, she was dressed like a bride and he handed her a small velvet box.
"The rings." He said at her inquiring look.
Yuki looked at the box and wasn't surprised by the huge diamond on her wedding ring. She put the ring on her own finger and tossed the box back to him.
"Can you put your ring on by yourself?"
He smiled and put the ring on.
"Do you need anything else before we go to the registry office and become man and wife?"
"I wish I hadn't had to wear that bridal costume."
"I do. To make the photos more convincing."
"And I need to be convinced to continue taking part in this farce. I need the money you promised me."
"It's already in your account."
Yuki looked at him suspiciously.
"What's your secret? How did you know my favorite dish and the right size of my finger? E... I saw those cushions the men were sitting on and..."
"I'm a god, Yuki."
Yuki glared at him angrily.
"I'd like to know the truth. I'm not a child anymore and I don't believe in fairy tales."
"You should believe, Yuki. Because you're a fairy."
"Can't you talk like a man? Give up the boy in you even on your wedding day?"
He approached Yuki and stood so close to her that Yuki put her hands on his chest to stop him overstepping the boundaries of a relationship between friends.
"Let me move on, Yuki. And you'll get to know me as a man."
"Don't be stupid." She said, but her voice shook.
She stared at him and this time the flames of fire in his eyes didn't disappear quickly. Yuki was mesmerized by the sight and didn't even notice that he was wrapping his arms around her waist, until he bent down and spoke with his lips very close to hers.
"Do you still want me to behave like a man?"
Yuki pushed him away and he let her go, shoving his hands into his trouser pockets without insisting on that contact.
"Keep being a boy. I don't care. But don't touch me again, boss. That's not in our agreement."
"How arrogant of you, Yuki. You assume that I want to touch you. And that's not true."
Yuki turned to the mirror and through it, saw Durin with a sword of fire, and an eagle floating behind him and turned around quickly, but it was only a vision. Durin continued to stare at her in the same way.
They went to the registry office and after a quick ceremony, the photographer arrived and after leaving Yuki at home, Durin went to his own apartment.
Yuki changed and went to the hospital, where she played and spent the night with her daughter. In the morning, she paid the 837,000 dollars to the doctor and they began preparations for Selytha's transfer to Mahagah.
Yuki hurried off to her apartment, thinking she'd change before going to the office. She didn't know that Durin would be waiting for her in front of her building.
As soon as Yuki left the hospital, a doctor entered Selytha's room and she smiled when she saw him. The doctor didn't smile back, but the little child didn't seem to mind.
"I'm going to do the treatment in your country. Mommy is going with me." She said when he stopped beside her.
"I know. But will you keep our secret? No one can know about our conversations."
She held out her finger to him. He looked at the finger, but then reached out with his own finger and as soon as their fingers touched, a snowflake sparkled between them and broke up in the air after a few seconds.
"I'll keep our secret, Tykar." She said as her eyes, which had turned silver, returned to their natural blue hue.
