Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: The Resolve to Change Fate

"Sigh… what a hopeless world this is." Whitebeard let out a deep sigh.

After watching the video about the world of Honkai Impact, everyone in the guild was visibly moved. Some even shed tears.

"That girl, Kiana… she's been through so much pain she never should've had to bear. Seeing how far she's come—it just breaks your heart," Miss Shizue said sorrowfully, clenching her fists.

"Yeah. When I reached that part of the game, I couldn't stop crying. That kind of growth… it's painful to watch," Rimuru said, recalling his own memories of playing Honkai Impact 3rd. Watching Kiana transform from a silly, clueless girl into a calm, composed warrior had carved a deep mark on his heart. Every line of dialogue hit him like a knife.

"Kiana…" Himeko watched silently as the girl on the screen fought enemies with twin guns. She remembered the words she once said to her: "Go turn this imperfect story into the one we dreamed of."

"Hey, let's not be so gloomy," Rimuru said, wiping the tears from his eyes. "Himeko's with us now, right? Since she's joined the guild, that means we can change the story! Let's make it into the version we always hoped for!"

"Well said." Whitebeard stood tall and firm again. "In that case, the entire Whitebeard Pirates will join in! Whatever god's behind this—cut first, ask questions later!"

"Exactly! Who needs a god like that anyway? Let's go, Pops!" Marco cheered, rallying the crew. The fighting spirit of the Whitebeard Pirates soared.

"Gurarararara!"

"Honkai, huh? Quite the fascinating concept," said Marco, thoughtfully stroking his chin from his seat. "A force born with civilization, aiming to destroy civilization—that's what you call 'Honkai'?"

"Himeko," Roger said as he walked over with a barrel of liquor. "Mind if I join in on your world too? I'd like to see that story end differently. And hey, you got time to share a drink with me?"

"Could you not hit on people in the middle of a crisis?" Rimuru grumbled. "You're in your fifties already. And wait, isn't Himeko in her thirties too?" He gave her a suspicious look.

"You're treading on dangerous ground, kid," Himeko warned, though the cheerful mood helped her relax. Then, her tone turned more serious. "What do you think that god's real goal is?"

"Hard to say," Rimuru shrugged. "There could be a lot of reasons. Maybe he was just bored? Maybe he wants something from your world? Honestly, it's impossible to tell."

"Whatever the reason, I'm cutting him down first," Whitebeard declared. "Anyone who's wiped out civilization after civilization—he's got it coming."

"Indeed." Dumbledore finally spoke up. "His purpose is no longer the issue. What matters is the unforgivable destruction he's caused in pursuit of it." Even the refined wizard couldn't help showing a bit of anger.

"You're right." Himeko let out a long sigh. "So… when do you plan on heading to our world?"

"Right now, of course," Rimuru said with determination. "This time, we're stopping every tragedy before it begins."

He was done watching them suffer alone. As the captain of the Hyperion for three years, he would fight alongside them now.

No one gets to hurt his Valkyries. Not anymore.

Himeko's eyes welled with tears. Though she had just arrived in this strange new place, she could already feel the genuine kindness radiating from the people here. They truly wanted to help—not just her, but her whole world.

"Alright! Who wants to sign up and come with me?" Rimuru called out.

"Count me in," Whitebeard said instantly.

"If Pops is going, of course we're going too!" shouted all his "sons" in unison.

"I'll tag along too," Garp said, crunching on a rice cracker. "Been eating too many of these lately. Time to stretch my legs."

"I have duties on the Navy's side I can't leave behind," Sengoku sighed. "So I'll sit this one out."

"Lord Rimuru, we'd also like to go," said Violet, stepping forward. Behind her stood Fang, Diablo, and the three Primordial Demons, all looking toward Rimuru with determination.

"This is… a lot of people," Rimuru said, slightly surprised. More than a hundred had volunteered. But then he grinned. "No problem—strength in numbers!"

Watching everyone rush to sign up, Himeko couldn't help but laugh. "What a bunch of lovable idiots."

"Himeko!" Rimuru's voice called out, snapping her out of her thoughts. "What are you spacing out for? Hurry up—we're leaving!"

"Coming!" Himeko ran toward the glowing dimensional gate. And just like that, she and the others vanished.

"Man…" Sengoku sighed with envy. "If I weren't so busy, I'd totally go too… but hey, I am the

Fleet Admiral. I can't let Lord Rimuru down." With that, he turned and left.

In the blink of an eye, the once-bustling guild hall fell quiet.

But in another world—the world of Honkai Impact—things were just about to heat up like never before.

Meanwhile, in the Sea of Quanta…

A certain girl had just encountered the greatest enemy of her life.
