1. Myth Voracity (Weakened)
The core ability of the Harbinger of Myth, allowing them to devour the myth—skills and stats—of others. However, a powerful curse has severely weakened it. Now, rather than guaranteed absorption, it only grants a chance to consume these traits. Despite this, it still feeds on the myth of those the Harbinger consumes.

Skills
1. Apex Predator Physique (Passive) Level 2
Your body has mutated for peak survival. Your teeth are sharper and more durable, your layered scales provide greater resistance to damage, and your digestive system efficiently processes tough materials while neutralizing toxins. Enhanced muscles, bones, and tendons grant improved strength, endurance, and agility, while your keen eyesight sharpens tracking and reaction speed.
2. Diamond Maw (Passive) Level 1
Your teeth have fused with dense mineral deposits, making them nearly unbreakable. They retain a razor-sharp edge even after continuous use, allowing you to bite through bone, armor, and hardened materials with ease. Each bite delivers immense crushing force, capable of splintering even reinforced structures.
3. Titanic Bulk (Passive) Level 2
Your body has reached an overwhelming level of mass and density, granting immense durability and stability. You are nearly impossible to knock back or stagger, and your sheer weight amplifies the force of your strikes. Even without active defense, your natural bulk reduces incoming damage, making you a walking fortress in combat.
4. Accel Dash (Active - 1 stamina per seconds) Level 1
The Whark can suddenly burst forward at immense speed, closing gaps near-instantly. It can also use this skill defensively to escape or reposition mid-fight.
5. Phantom Shift (Active - 5 stamina per activation) Level 1
A rapid, unpredictable maneuver that allows the Whark to momentarily blur out of sight before striking from an unexpected angle. It works best in open waters where there are fewer obstacles.
6. Gleaming Scales (Passive) Level 1
Its scales have a natural metallic coating, reducing water resistance and allowing it to move faster while providing moderate resistance against slashing and piercing attacks.

I let out a yawn.
My body was stiff from sleeping on the seabed.
But as I glanced at my status window.
My grin only grew wider.
Flapping my tail, I glided effortlessly through the water, heading east.
Everything was falling into place.
My skills were impressive.
Strong enough to break free from this breeding ground.
But why should I?
I had yet to consume the full benefits of this place.
No.
I needed to reach Stage 1.
I needed to ascend to the ranks of an Emperor.
And my siblings.
They would become my servants.
Together, we would break free.
And devour everything in our path.
So how could I leave now?
I had no idea what lurked beyond this cavern.
The safest option was clear.
Sacrifice my kin.
Their deaths would fuel my rise.
Their flesh.
My stepping stone.
Some might call it cruel.
Hypocritical, even.
But they would understand.
They would willingly sacrifice themselves.
For the betterment of our race.
Compassion?
Kindness?
I can't afford that right now.
I am still weak.
I don't know when I will die.
So how can I afford to care?
My siblings…
Forgive me.
But for the sake of our species.
For the sake of my ascension.
Must of you perish.
…Of course, I'll will try to do my best not to devour all of you.
---
Hours passed.
The lush seagrass and open plains faded behind me.
Replaced by something mystical.
Bioluminescent plants glowed softly, casting an ethereal light across the cavern.
Towering rock formations, shaped like mountain peaks, rose proudly from the seabed, covered in wondrous vegetation.
A sight unlike anything I had seen before.
Not even Dragon Valley, where I once visited in my past life, held such beauty.
Vines draped from the peaks, swaying in the current.
Some glowed brightly.
Others, ominously.
I chuckled.
How many times have I thought 'mountain peaks' now?
Hah!
I must look like a country bumpkin, gawking at the scenery.
But damn.
This place was breathtaking.
As I neared the center of the eastern region, the peaks thinned.
And then.
My eyes widened.
A massive stone plain stretched before me.
And at its center.
A solitary Whark rested.
It was an arena.
Surrounded by mountains.
A grin tugged at my lips.
I let out a low, guttural howl.
The surroundings trembled.
The vines hanging swayed violently.
Shadows gathered above, circling the arena.
And then.
The Whark at the center howled.
Its voice was deeper.
Stronger.
More tyrannical than the other Stage 1s I had encountered.
Maybe it's a three-star evolution?
I could see it now.
The blue glow surrounding its body.
The smirk on its lips.
I exhaled sharply.
This one.
I could feel it.
This guy could use mana.
If I devoured it…
Would mystique and mana become available to me?
Excitement burned through my veins.
This creature.
It was terrifying.
And yet.
Majestic.
Its gem-like scales shimmered under the dim light.
Spikes protruded from its back, pulsating with a faint, ominous glow.
A horn jutted from its forehead, radiating raw energy.
Its fins were covered in crystalline armaments.
And at the center of its skull.
A core.
A mana core.
My breathing became erratic.
Greed.
Uncontrollable, suffocating greed.
Saliva dripped from my maw.
My blood boiled with anticipation.
This bastard was dangerous.
My survival rate against it?
Thirty percent.
Maybe higher.
Maybe lower.
I could feel it that its sentience was more developed than the others.
Which meant.
It was more dangerous.
And that made it more valuable than the others.
It opened its maw.
And howled.
The surrounding Wharks howled in response.
A deafening, resounding chorus.
I inhaled deeply.
Then.
I howled back.
The east trembled.
And the voices of countless Wharks echoed through the cavern.
---
Its body blurred.
Like a phantom, it cut through the water.
Smiling, I did the same.
My body flickered forward, Phantom Shift and Accel Dash activating in perfect succession.
Its crystalline maw snapped.
But I wasn't there.
I have already repositioned myself.
It was probably thinking that it had caught me by now.
But my jaws snapped shut.
Chump!
The metallic taste of blood flooded my mouth.
And my Diamond Maw tore through its crystalline fin.
A piercing howl erupted from its throat.
Its fin glowed.
Danger.
I reacted instantly, activating Phantom Shift again.
Another flicker.
I Repositioned myself yet again.
As my maw snapped shut.
Chump!
This time, I ripped through its stomach.
Its defense?
Was basically useless.
Its stomach glowed.
I pulled back, my eyes flicking to the fin and stomach I had bitten earlier.
Spikes erupted from those places.
Hundreds of them.
If I had clamped down any longer.
I would be meeting Elara in the afterlife.
This time, I was lucky.
If I hadn't moved in time, death would have claimed me.
My perspective of this beast have now changed.
This beast.
It wasn't just powerful.
It was smart.
Accel Dash.
Phantom Shift.
My body blurred.
And then
I lunged again, snapping my maw onto its fin.
It glowed.
Spikes erupted.
Again.
Then it glowed.
Now I have truly understand how it works.
And it had figured out my strategy.
Then adjusted according to it.
It's ability to adapt was impressive.
It let out a deep howl.
Its entire body began to glow.
I didn't hesitate.
Phantom Shift.
Accel Dash.
A blur.
Then.
I reappeared twenty meters away.
Damn.
My stamina was nearly halved.
I flicked my gaze toward my status.
---
[Health: 63/100]
---
This tough bastard…
I couldn't just dig into its insides like the Stonescale Whark.
Its muscles were infused with mana, and spikes would skewer me if I bited its flesh for more than a second.
Every movement, every strike, and every time I devoured its flesh, a tingling sensation flooded into me.
It was mana.
But it wasn't enough.
Not yet.
I needed more of its flesh to unlock those stats.
My gaze was fixated onto its core.
If I shattered and devoured it.
Would that unlock mana for me?
Like the golems I had once fought?
The moment the thought crossed my mind, it smirked.
It knew.
Its forehead glowed.
Shit.
This bastard was pretty smart.
My muscles burned from the repercussions of Accel Dash, and Phantom Shift.
But I could still endure.
I forced my breathing steady.
Calmed my mind.
Focused.
Then.
I moved.
Its maw appeared in front of me.
I smirked.
It had no idea.
Before it could react.
PAIN.
A screech tore through the water.
SCREEECH!
My jaws had snapped shut.
Right onto its core.
CHUMP!
Phantom Dash, activated.
I distanced myself, then gulped it down.
Blood.
I spat it out.
The moment I bit its core, spikes erupted in the next second, then punctured the inside of my mouth.
Damn.
That hurt.
But.
I had been fast enough.
The beast howled like a crazed animal.
WAAARHGH!
It charged toward me.
But this time…
It was slower.
I grinned.
Its core was gone.
Which meant.
It was physically weaker than me.
Before, it had matched or even surpassed my strength due to the enhancement from its mana.
But now?
Its abilities were crippled.
It had no choice but to fight me in a dogfight.
A battle of pure muscle.
And that…
Was a battle it would lose.
I licked the blood from my mouth.
Then.
I laughed.
My body blurred.
