At 3:00 pm, David finally disabled the time dilation barrier after spending five whole days working, only taking breaks to go to the toilet and eat instant noodles.
Whenever he went to check on Marin, she was always sleeping, though a couple of times when he went to check on her, he noticed that she looked quite a bit different.
David just attributed the supposed changes to his lack of sleep.
⟪ That was both the longest and fastest five days of my life... I managed to completely recreate the first six Final Fantasy games and got them ready to publish to console, though that'll take a bit more time since I have to wait on a response from Sony. Luckily, I was able to publish them fairly easily for the PC. Sovereign Core has now officially stepped into the public eye by entering the gaming industry, heheh... ⟫
David stretched in his chair and rubbed his eyes.
⟪ It should be about time for the people from Gotei 13 to show up, right? I can feel it in my bones, but the question is... Are they going to be troublesome or are they going to be fun? Honestly, I'd be fine with anyone as long as they're not the dudes. Well, Shunsui might be a fun drinking buddy, but that's about it. He's too damn attractive to be allowed near Roselia Heights... Hm, maybe I could cast an illusion spell on him so that nobody can see his face if he shows up... Nah, that'd be too much. ⟫
[Just so you know, you're way hotter than anyone in the world at this moment, even if you hide your Sovereign's Seal. You don't need to be so insecure.]
'Eh, really? Interesting... I'll only hide it when I'm out in public since I know people in Japan look down on those with tattoos and even though the seal is pink, it's still a marking on my face. As far as being insecure, can you really blame me?'
[...Remember, you're different in this life, okay? You're a cheat-like existence when it comes to women. Even if a room full of women saw you and Shunsui, you'd grab their attention more. Anyway, you don't need to worry about it and can feel free to make male friends, they'll be a good balance.]
'Hmm... Alright, I'll try to work on my biases. There are definitely a few of the protagonists I'd like to be friends with, though I'll still steal their future wives...'
David started to pace around his office to get his blood circulating while he thought about Gotei 13.
⟪ Anyway, as long as they send a woman, I'll be polite. Even Lisa or Nanao would be good, I like their feisty attitudes. Hmm, Soi Fon would be good as well, though she might start obsessing over Yoruichi if she sees her. She should be at Urihara's shop though and I don't think she'd know that I'm here. Ah, that reminds me... ⟫
David decided to adjust and expand his security barrier around the entire Roselia Heights building to keep the other residents safe. While he only saw the names of the 30th floor residents, he's certain there are other franchise characters living in the building and he wants to keep them safe ahead of time.
⟪ Alright, men with hostile intentions will be knocked out and sent into the secret prison/interrogation room next to my office, women with hostile intentions will be tied up and sent to the lounge area and placed in an invisible cage, men without hostile intentions will feel intense pressure on their souls, and women without hostile intentions will be healed upon entering. ⟫
[Haaa... What happened to changing your bias?]
'That's that and this is this. Roselia Heights is my turf now and while I want to make some male friends, that doesn't mean men can enter my area so easily, 'kay?'
[Sheesh, so protective.]
'Of course. I don't want anyone harming my family and while Marin is the only family member for now, that'll change in the future so I'm only setting the foundation for a safe life in the future.'
David snorted at Chaos-chan's remarks before getting back to the task at hand.
⟪ Let's see, what else... Any attacks from the outside will be nullified completely unless they're at the level of a god, I probably still can't compete with those bastards yet unless I go all out, but then my energy would be drained... I really don't want to get involved with the gods and goddesses though. With the franchise I saw earlier, I know they're going to be a huge pain in the ass... Wait, aren't I technically the creator of the gods and goddesses as well? No no, the gods and goddesses in this world are probably only those from franchises so the only relation we have is that they reside in the universe I created... Hmm, how should I deal with them in the future? ⟫
⟪ Dammit, I'm getting distracted again! Right, physical attacks, magical attacks, soul attacks, mental attacks, and anything else deemed harmful will fizzle out into nothingness when it enters my territory. Oh, I should definitely make a training area for my girls to test their powers in the future in an area where their powers would be unaffected by the barrier. ⟫
⟪ I could add a basement, that would also be a good place to run extensive experiments and also train... Yeah, that'll be fun. I'll save it for later though, I want to keep my schedule open in case the Shinigami appear. Still dunno if I'll have to be hostile or not, but I'll prepare for the worst. I also have yet to receive a call from Sonoko, but I'm not in a hurry for that. That cutie is probably busy dealing other authors. Speaking of which, I wonder if I could give Utaha some novels I have in the database that she could either copy or use as reference material for her own novel? ⟫
Sonoko Machida was in her office and was indeed dealing with other authors. When she heard what David said, she blushed and was stunned for a moment.
[Sonoko] 'Who is this kid calling a cutie... Tch, I'll have to meet him face to face to see what gives him such confidence. I'm a single old woman, don't tease me unless you're ready to bear the consequences!'
⟪ Ah, I got distracted again... Okay, back to the barrier! ⟫
David stopped pacing and spent a few minutes adjusting the security barrier to cover Roselia Heights, taking a bit longer to calculate everything one final time before casting the spell.
A faint white barrier appeared around the property before turning invisible a few moments later.
⟪ Damn, that drained me even more than I thought... Keeping this spell active is going to be a pain in the ass, it would be nice if I could get another source of energy from somewhere or could have a subordinate to maintain the barrier for me. Crap, I'm too damn tired. Definitely gotta sleep for a while... Near-infinite mana my ass, I can tell my reserves are severely limited now. ⟫
David grumbled inside his mind, but he was pleased with the protection around the building.
He yawned, left his office, and went to his bedroom, feeling the mental strain of non-stop work for the past five days starting to hit him.
Without paying attention to anything else around him, David threw off his clothes, crawled into bed next to Marin, and passed out before he could do anything else.
[Marin] 'Aww, I wanted to play with him~...'
Marin was awake when David entered the room, but she wanted to pretend to be napping so she could see if David would try anything with her before he went to sleep.
Unfortunately, she hadn't counted on him being so tired that he'd fall asleep instantly.
[Marin] 'Aren't superhumans supposed to not need sleep anymore? He must've worked hard to be this tired.'
She disabled her human-form transformation and returned to her kitsune form, but she purposely didn't let her kitsune-form clothes materialize, opting to sleep next to David naked.
Once she'd returned to her sexy fox-girl form, she hugged David and wrapped her tails around him, pulling him close before dozing off herself.
...
As David and Marin were napping, Rangiku Matsumoto and Isane Kotetsu had arrived in Ochanomizu wearing casual clothing that Rangiku had purchased at some point in the past.
Rangiku was wearing white pants, a long yellow sweater with black and gold designs at the bottom, and black boots.
Isane was wearing a simple white sun dress with cherry blossom flower motifs and black flats.
"Isane, do you think we'll be recognized as hostile? I don't want to be tied up..." Rangiku asked a little worriedly.
"I think... we'll probably be fine. After all, we're just observing. I certainly don't have any intention to get on his bad side if what he said is true."
Rangiku nodded, "Mm, agreeeeed~. I don't want him to think we're here to cause trouble and I'd definitely like to talk to him about certain things."
She was thinking of asking about Gin's betrayal and then trying to find out about Aizen's plans.
Isane, on the other hand...
"Me too. If what he said is true, I want to ask if he can save Captain Unohana..."
Rangiku patted her on the shoulder and laughed, "Haha~! I have a feeling he wouldn't be against it if you asked him directly. You're super cute! What man could resist a request from you, hmm~?"
Isane felt embarrassed with what Rangiku said, but she felt relieved nonetheless.
"I got it, I'll ask him directly then. I'll do whatever it takes to save Captain Unohana."
They kept walking for around ten more minutes before arriving in front of the luxury high-rise where David resides.
"Alright, we're here~. Should we wait outside until we know he's awake or should we just wait inside the lobby? Our outfits look normal and our Zanpakutou are hidden so we shouldn't cause anyone to look at us oddly."
Rangiku had sealed her Zanpakutou into the form of a choker with a sword pendant and was wearing it quite nicely. Isane had sealed her Zanpakutou into the form of a silver medical bracelet which fit her character well.
Isane nodded, "I think we'll be fine, but maybe we should wait inside just in case we don't hear his voice and he leaves or something."
"Sounds good~! And if things don't go to plan, we can just back off for a bit and go drinking or shopping or something!"
Isane was speechless.
"You just want to use this as a vacation..."
Rangiku shrugged, "Maybe, heheh~. We're supposed to observe him, but if we can't get access to him, we'll just have to come back later. No point in twiddling our thumbs when we could be having a good time instead!"
"...You make a rather good point."
"Fufun~, of course I do!"
Rangiku puffed out her massive chest proudly.
"Now then! Let's head inside and wait for a bit. We'll wait until we hear his voice and make a decision then," Rangiku said.
Isane just nodded her head and followed behind her companion as they passed the gate and started walking toward the building.
As the two women walked into the official domain of David, they felt any and all tension leave their bodies and started to feel less nervous. Their minds felt clearer and their moods were bright.
Their souls were actively being healed, too.
Well, for the most part. David's barrier wasn't set up in a sophisticated enough way to heal Rangiku's soul, which had been damaged so many years ago.
"Ahh~, this is quite nice. See? We don't have hostile intentions, so it's fine! I'm both impressed and a little frightened by his ability to so easily make something like this. I can't even detect the source of the energy affecting me... Interesting~!"
While Rangiku was excited and enjoying the effects provided by David's barrier, Isane was a little less excited and more wary.
[Isane] 'This guy... He really has some insane type of power. He sounded so casual when he was talking about making this. Does that mean he could do even more outrageous things just as easily?'
They both walked into the lobby of Roselia Heights with a multitude of thoughts running through their heads.
When they entered the lobby, they saw that there were multiple couches and tables set out to give a cozy, homey feeling.
"Alrighty then~! Let's sit at that couch so we can have a good view of everyone passing by!" Rangiku said while pointing at a couch that was right in front of Milly's office.
Isane nodded, following behind Rangiku and taking a seat on the couch.
As they waited, they noticed that despite being few in number, the only people coming and going were all beautiful women of varying ages.
"Isane, is it just me or are all the residents we've seen so far super gorgeous?"
Isane nodded dumbfoundedly.
"Uhh... Yeah... And I haven't seen a single man pass through here at all either... Maybe they're all working at won't arrive until later?"
"Hmm~, that's a possibility. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!"
Rangiku pulled out a smartphone from her cleavage and started browsing Instagram.
"Eh? When did you get a phone like that?"
"Heheh, are you jealous? I came down to have some fun a couple years ago and got this when I saw how many people were using it. Now, every time I come to the Human World, I check up on what people are doing using social media."
Isane looked interested and leaned over to see what Rangiku was looking at.
"Why are there so many pictures of food? Do people like to show off what they're eating?"
"Hmm, I'm not really sure, but a lot of these foods look cute, right? Like this here, these pancakes look like a cute cat. And this crepe is super colorful! It definitely makes me want to eat some, heheh~."
"...Yeah, I'd like to eat that cat pancake..."
The two women continued looking at various photos of food while they waited.
An hour after Rangiku and Isane arrived, their media browsing was interrupted by a seductive voice followed by a polite voice.
"Ara ara~, what are you two doing here? Did you come all this way to see little old us~?"
"Rangiku, Lieutenant Isane, it's nice to see you two. I'm curious as well, are you here to see us?"
Rangiku looked up and smiled when she saw the black-haired and red-haired girls in front of her.
"Oh~! I didn't expect to run into you here, Princess! We have some business to take care of and I suppose you could say we're on a stakeout. Don't tell me you two are doing something similar?"
The red-haired girl called 'Princess' just tilted her head in confusion.
"No? We started living here last week and just came back from the Veil Summit. I thought you were here to see us...? Ah, now that I think about it, Captain Hitsugaya and Captain Ukitake did say that there was urgent business they had to attend to concerning a new threat in Ochanomizu before they left yesterday. Is that why you guys are here?"
Rangiku stretched her arms back on the couch.
"Yeah~, but I'd rather do things the fun way. The old man wants us to stalk some new guy that showed up around here, but I think I'll just talk to him directly. From what I hear, he's pretty handsome so it might be worth my time, heheh~."
Rangiku didn't think she could say anything to the 'Princess' about David's inner voice so instead of saying his inner voice talked about how handsome he was, she just said she heard it.
The 'Princess' crossed her arms and furrowed her brows slightly while the black-haired girl seemed to realize something.
"So, the potential threat you are looking for lives here, is that correct?" 'Princess' asked.
"You got it~! We're just waiting for him to come downstairs. If he doesn't come down by the end of the day, Isane and I are just gonna go relax for a bit around the city and try again tomorrow."
'Princess' smiled politely and nodded, "I understand. Since there won't be another meeting for another month, just let me know if he proves to be a problem and our faction will think of some countermeasures as well. We live in penthouse suite PH-09 with another member of my Peerage. You two are always welcome to visit."
Rangiku laughed and gave 'Princess' a thumbs up, "Hahaha~! Sounds good~!"
It wasn't mentioned between the four of them, but they all knew that David wasn't a threat as they could all hear his inner voice and knew he didn't seem like the type of person to hurt people for no reason.
'Princess' bowed her head slightly and bade farewell to Rangiku and Isane before getting into the elevator with the black-haired girl and hitting the 'PH' button.
"Judging by their slight reactions earlier, they seemed to know about David living here. Do you think they already know about his power or have already made contact with him? Or maybe they saw his fight with the Hollows?"
Rangiku looked over and gave Isane a weird look, "Isane... They were at the Veil Summit with the rest of the Hidden Concord representatives. How would they have seen a battle that only lasted a little over twenty minutes?"
Isane blushed and looked away, "Right... Sorry..."
"Haha! It's fine, it's fine~! I'd also like to know why they reacted like that, but we can worry about that some other time. Let's look up what kind of new places they have around here. If David doesn't show up before nightfall, we'll have to go buy some drinks to lift our spirits!"
Isane just shook her head and sighed, "Haaa... You truly are a bad influence."
...
On the 30th floor, 'Princess' and the black-haired girl exited the elevator and walked toward their suite.
"Buchou, they were definitely talking about David, right~?"
'Princess' nodded, "Yes, I'm certain of it. Do you think that Milly woman was referring to him when she said we would find beneficial connections if we lived here?"
"Hmm~... It's a possibility. I think we should just watch and see what happens before trying to make contact with him. He seems busy and we might just irritate him if we interrupt whatever he has going on right now," the black-haired girl said with a contemplative look.
"I agree. We're not in a hurry or anything so it'd be best to wait for the right time. I'd like for him to at least see me once though, he might talk about me in his head again. I was curious when he mentioned my name and the franchise I was from, but he didn't say anything else about me after the first time... My curiosity is killing me."
The two girls unlocked their suite door and walked inside.
The black-haired girl teased her friend, "Ara ara~, is our Buchou finally interested in a boy~? Just relax for a bit, I'm sure we'll have a chance to talk to him in the future."
'Princess' plopped down on the couch in the living area, "Haaa, you're right. It might be a good idea to invite him to join my Peerage though, I've been dying to get another strong member."
"Ahaha~, you've been saying that for the past two days since we started hearing his voice. Like I said, just relax for a bit~! We still need to have a talk with everyone else about what was discussed at the Veil Summit."
'Princess' turned serious, "Right. It definitely has something to do with what David's voice mentioned, about how the Earth is going to change next year. If the reports are true, then the changes have already started and things are going to get troublesome."
The two girls took out laptops and started getting busy, typing up their own reports from what was mentioned and information they've gathered, as well as possible future steps to take to ensure the safety of their faction.
While they were working, they completely ignored the short white-haired girl who was sleeping peacefully on the rug in front of them with drool coming out of her mouth, treating it as if it were a normal everyday occurrence.
---
(A/N: Yes, we all know these girls are, but they won't be interacting with David for a bit. Both have too many things to do.
I saw a comment earlier that mentioned the killing of protagonists and I'd like to be talk about that for a moment.
David might not like men, but he wouldn't purposefully kill any protagonists if they don't provoke him. He's actually a fan of quite a few franchises and would prefer it if the protagonists are still alive since that means any future problems their franchise caused would be handled by them.
The deaths of Takeru Ooyama and Yuu Izumi were accidental and since David didn't make any preparation beforehand, he couldn't revive them since he erased their existence.
If David could've had it his way, he at least wouldn't have killed Yuu because he found his character in the anime to be interesting, though David would 100% steal Miyako Shikimori from him even if Yuu were still alive.
As for future protagonists, David won't kill any of them himself, however that's not to say that protagonists won't die due to David's existence. I won't spoil anything, but I will say that David will not purposefully kill any protagonists as that would just add to his burden.
Anyway, as always, thanks for reading my garbage story.)
