Chapter 3 - perhaps a new start

I blink twice, not entirely sure if I saw it correctly, Jule's flower shop? That is only like 15minutes from here, I leaned back, in that case, the restaurant they must be talking about is Beoms Diner, it's the same place I go with my friends to catch up once in a while, I rub my nose bridge.

I glance over at the phone.

*fuck it*

I pick up the phone, almost walking out, before I awkwardly stop myslef. I scan my clothes realizing I'm in my Pijamas.

…. *sigh*

I quickly change into something casual and quick, totally ignoring the state my long messy brown hair is in, I walk to the door putting on my coat and gripping the phone on my way, I lock the apartment, double checking if it's actually locked for safety.

I stumbled down the stairs almost tripping.

I made my way to the restaurant, scanning the surroundings looking for a group of, what I think might be younger boys, as I look around a voice catches my attention?

"Do you think August will show up? I mean he didn't even read the message"

The boy tilted his head slightly.

I walked up to them, their eyes shifting to me in confusion, I gulped down my fear and spoke up:

"Do you guys perchance know who the owner of this phone is.. there was a message- and this all seems a little to alike to be a coincidence"

I hurriedly took out the phone out of my coat pocket.

The boys eyes widened.

"Why do you have that?"

He asked in a hostile tone. I looked around before replying in a stiff voice:

"Please don't misunderstand… this phone was left in the cafe I run"

I rubbed my neck awkwardly, the boys exchanged a tad more relaxed glances.

"Yea, that phone belongs to our friend"

He rubbed his neck apologetically.

*sigh*

I hand the phone over to one of the boys.

"Since you guys are… acquaintances, I trust you to deliver this to the…"

I stop myslef before slowly saying:

"Deliver this to August"

I turned around ready to leave, but a voice caught me off guard. One of the boys had asked me for my name, I turned around with an awkward smile that didn't quite fit my face.

"Hana"

I replied.

I hear the boys murmurs echoing as I leave.

I finally make my way back to what I reluctantly call "home." The door creaks softly as I push it open,

I slip off my shoes with slow, dragging movements, letting them fall carelessly by the entrance. My feet ache, every step feeling heavier than the last. Without even thinking, I shuffle toward the couch and collapse onto it for the second time today.

A strained groan escapes my lips as my body sinks into the worn cushions, my muscles protesting and relaxing all at once. The weight of the day catches up to me in a crashing wave of exhaustion.

I don't even try to fight it.

Within moments, my eyes flutter shut, and sleep pulls me under—quiet, heavy, and absolute.
