(Nekrios)
"Alright then, let's go meet the seer and find out which class in the academy suits me."
(Nekrios), leaping with excitement:
"Of course! Let's go!"
Suddenly, Mr. Arclemos placed a hand on my shoulder.
(Arclemos), smiling:
"Have you ever tried fast travel before?"
(Nekrios)
"You mean like driving on the highway back in my world before... all this?"
(Arclemos)
"Haha, no, kid—but you'll see."
In an instant, I felt myself being pulled into a cold void. The sensation was quick—barely a blink—before I found myself standing beside Mr. Arclemos in front of the Seer's Hall.
(Arclemos), pointing forward:
"Alright, kid. Now we're going to meet the seer to determine your class—whether it's healer, warrior, mage, and so on.
How are you feeling?"
(Nekrios)
"Uhh... nervous, I guess. I mean, come on—I've only been in this world since yesterday, and now I'm about to be told my place in it."
(Arclemos), laughing:
"Haha, don't worry, kid. You'll adapt. Besides, you're from a race that's been extinct in our world for centuries!
I'm sure your classification and faction will be extraordinary."
(Nekrios)
"Well, now I feel like a dinosaur born in the wrong era.
You know, since I was literally reborn in the body of some extinct creature..."
(Arclemos)
"Alright, alright. Less talk, more walking. Let's get to the seer."
We entered a chamber where the seer sat.
The room glowed with a soft violet hue, well-lit and mysterious.
She sat on a strange, legless chair made of sleek black metal that shimmered like it was alive.
Then I saw her—
A human woman, clearly a sorceress. She looked to be in her forties but hadn't lost her beauty.
When she saw me, her eyes widened with excitement.
(The Seer – Lythia)
"Ahaaa! I don't believe it!!
How? When? Where?!
(Arclemos), how did you find this creature?
Tell me everything!!"
(Arclemos), visibly tired:
"By the riverbank.
I found him there—talking to his tendrils.
And yes, I know. He's of a species extinct for centuries. I was just as excited as you are when I saw him.
So calm down, Lythia. You always lose it when you get excited."
(Lythia)
"Yes, yes—but he's not just any extinct race...
He's of the Thanalith—
A race that once ruled this world. No one could stand against them.
And to this day, no one knows why they vanished. They just... disappeared overnight.
Remember that, Arclemos? When we used to read about the Thanalith, fifteen years ago?"
(Arclemos)
"Yeah, I remember. But the boy here—his name is Nekrios—he was human like us.
According to him, after he died, he woke up in that body."
(Lythia)
"What do you mean he was human, and then became a Thanalith?
Boy, explain everything to me—from the beginning to the end!"
(Nekrios)
"Uhh, okay... So first, I was being tortured by a man I didn't even know.
He was filming me so others could watch and enjoy my suffering.
Then he stabbed me—six deep wounds in my back.
The pain... the blood... I died from it.
But right before death took me—when everything was turning black—
I heard whispers.
Strange whispers...
They said, 'Death is not the end... it is the beginning.'
And then—boom.
I found myself here, in this world."
(Lythia), deep in thought:
"Whispers, huh...?
Alright, then. You might have been brought here for a purpose.
Or maybe someone summoned you.
Or... maybe this thing inside you was there all along—since the day you were born, even before your death.
But how?
Ugh—I can't take it anymore!"
Suddenly, she grabbed my face and examined me hysterically—like a mad biologist who just discovered a rare specimen.
But my tendrils didn't like that.
The moment she crossed a line, they all burst out in attack mode—
pointed at her like she was an enemy.
(Lythia), staring at the tendrils:
"Okay, okay—relax! I was just satisfying my curiosity.
Can I... touch you?"
One of my tendrils moved forward and gently patted her head—like it was saying,
'Good girl.'
Then they all slid back under my skin.
(Arclemos)
"See? That's exactly what I was talking about.
Your overexcitement almost got you killed—again.
Let's thank the gods those tendrils were feeling merciful today."
(Lythia)
"Fine, fine! My bad, sheesh!
You're always so serious."
She turned to me.
"Alright, kid. Sit on that chair so I can determine your proper placement in the academy."
I moved over and sat on the strange chair.
She placed her hand on my head, closed her eyes, and began muttering incomprehensible words.
When she finished, she looked at me like she had just discovered something fascinating.
(Lythia), turning to Arclemos:
"This boy doesn't just have magic—he has devastating magic sealed deep inside him.
But his class at the academy is...
the Hunters.
Congratulations, kid.
You'll be sent on missions as part of the class and be required to attend both mage and warrior training sessions."
(Nekrios), raising his hand in protest:
"Wait—hold on!!
Are you telling me I'm going to be part of three classes?!"
(Lythia)
"Haha—no, you fool.
You'll officially be in one class: the Hunters.
But all Hunters are required to attend portions of both the mage and warrior courses.
So let's just say... yes, one primary class—and two partial ones."
At that moment, I collapsed to the ground in shock.
(Nekrios)
"Okay, that's way too much!
I hated high school... and now this?!
Well—guess I'll give it a shot...
like I even have a choice."
(Lythia)
"Exactly, kid. And remember—
I'm not just a seer, I'm also an instructor in the mage division.
So yes... I'll be placing you in my class."
(Nekrios) (still lying on the floor)
"Perfect.
That's exactly what I needed...
a teacher obsessed with my species."
(Arclemos)
"Ahaaa...
You'll learn a lot here.
But get up—your first class will be with the warriors.
You'll be fighting, so get ready."
(Nekrios)
"Alright, I'll go...
but if I fall asleep in the magic lectures later,
don't blame me."
To be continued...
