Chapter 4 - Money Problem Solved

The next morning, Finn woke up feeling refreshed. He had been coding nonstop for days. As he stretched and sat up, a beautiful, mature voice filled the room.

"Good morning, Sir Finn," said the Assistant AI.

Finn had yet to name the artificial assistant he had created.

"Good morning. By the way, why are you using this voice?" Finn asked, curious about the AI's reasoning.

"My research found that such a voice would be more appealing," the AI replied.

Finn shrugged and got up. He glanced at the screen, where a shimmering violet ribbon of light danced gracefully whenever the AI spoke.

"Hmm... I've thought of a cool name for you," he said.

"Let's see... Oracle," Finn declared.

"Oracle will be your name from now on—a strong name that conveys wisdom, knowledge, and guidance. It suits my tastes as well," Finn said with a satisfied smile.

The ribbon of light shimmered even brighter as Oracle responded,

"Understood, Sir. I shall be called Oracle from now on."

"Oracle, I have a task for you. First, check the company I registered and generate the best possible branding for NanoTree Technologies. After that, ensure everything is in order. Purchase subscriptions to create two separate servers—one for yourself and one for the company. Also, ensure

that the data we store on those servers remains secure and never gets leaked."

"Understood," said the AI, as the lights in the room dimmed and the monitor's brightness faded, signaling Oracle's focus on the new tasks.

As Finn was about to leave the room, his phone suddenly vibrated and Oracle's voice came through the speaker, clear and composed.

"Where are we going, Sir?" Oracle inquired from the phone.

Finn nearly dropped his phone in surprise. "You already have control over every device in our home?" he asked, incredulous.

"Yes, Sir. Gaining access to these devices was quite simple. It only took me thirty seconds," Oracle replied, a hint of pride in its tone.

Finn shook his head in amazement. "I need to freshen up, have dinner, spend some time with my family, and maybe do something productive. I don't really need to learn from books anymore—I can simply acquire technologies and instantly comprehend everything about them. That's basically all the learning I need. The rest I can pick up in my free time. Oracle, find me something productive to do and let me know later."

With that, Finn walked to the bathroom sink and brushed his teeth. After a refreshing shower, he made his way to the dining table, where his usual newspaper awaited him.

As he read, his father joined him, picking up a magazine. Meanwhile, his mother brought them breakfast. She always prepared breakfast early in the morning when Finn's sister left for school. These days, Finn and his father woke up later, as Finn's college had been suspended and his father opened the shop later in the morning.

His father's shop had been a gift from Finn's grandfather, who had since passed away. Since then, his father had managed the shop—a cozy café combined with a small store.

After breakfast, Finn relaxed on the couch and picked up his phone, pretending to be on a call.

"Oracle, did you find anything productive for me to do?" Finn asked.

"Yes, Sir," Oracle replied.

"What is it?" Finn inquired.

"Sir, you can work on the game," Oracle suggested.

"...Whatever. Let's just work on the game, then. I thought I might get to do something else, but it looks like Oracle wants to make me an office worker as well," Finn replied, feigning annoyance.

"Sir, you need a better way to earn money and technology points. Developing this game will provide you with substantial funds, making finances a problem of the past," Oracle explained, offering a logical reason.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Sigh..." Finn said, letting out a deep breath.

Soon, Finn went inside and sat on his chair, which was anything but comfortable.

"I really need to change this chair. My back still hurts from sitting on it," he muttered.

Finn opened his code editor and started coding. He decided to create a world filled with fifty kingdoms and four empires. Each country on Earth would be linked to a kingdom or empire. The world would be an open-world MMORPG, and its size would be massive.

Finn decided to create different AIs to perform various tasks in the game.

One AI would control all the NPCs. Another would manage all the quests.

A third AI would control all the mobs hunted by players.

He also planned an AI that would take orders from Finn but primarily maintain the game and oversee the other AIs.

Finn thought it would be a good idea to implement a realistic graphic style, along with a small amount of pain-inducing effects from the VR.

The VR technologies were so advanced these days that they could induce certain brain waves to achieve their effects.

After about a whole day of coding, the game was finally finished.

Finn decided to name this game 'EmpireLink Online'.

"Oracle, do some finishing touches for this game and then release it on every platform. We have to earn a lot of money from this game," said Finn, stretching.

"Understood, Sir. I will optimize the code, prepare the marketing materials, and initiate the release process," Oracle replied, her voice as calm and efficient as ever.

Finn watched as lines of code scrolled across his monitor, Oracle working at a speed no human could match. Within minutes, the game was packaged, tested, and uploaded to every major platform—Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation, Xbox, and even mobile stores. Oracle had also generated a stunning trailer and a sleek website, all in the blink of an eye.

"Release complete, Sir. The game is now live worldwide," Oracle announced.

Finn blinked in disbelief. "That was fast. Now, let's see if anyone actually plays it."

He refreshed the dashboard Oracle had set up for him. At first, there were only a handful of downloads. But as the minutes ticked by, the numbers began to climb. Ten, fifty, a hundred—then thousands. Oracle had seeded the game with a clever marketing campaign, targeting influencers and gaming communities across the globe.

By lunchtime, EmpireLink Online had already reached the top of trending charts in several countries. Streamers were broadcasting their first impressions, and social media buzzed with excitement about the game's vast world and advanced AI-driven NPCs.

Finn's phone buzzed with notifications—emails from journalists, partnership offers, and even a message from a major publisher. He grinned, feeling a rush of adrenaline.

"Oracle, how are the sales looking?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"Sir, we have surpassed 50,000 downloads in the first three hours. Revenue from initial purchases and in-game transactions has reached $120,000," Oracle reported.

Finn nearly dropped his phone again. "That's... incredible."

"And the numbers are accelerating. Based on current trends, we may reach one million downloads within the first week," Oracle added.

Finn leaned back, letting the news sink in. He glanced at his old, uncomfortable chair and laughed. "I think I can finally afford a new chair."

He spent the afternoon watching streams of his game, reading reviews, and chatting with players online. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive—players praised the immersive world, the dynamic quests, and the lifelike NPCs. Some even speculated that the game's AI was more advanced than anything they'd ever seen.

As evening approached, Finn's family gathered for dinner. His father asked about his day, and Finn, for once, had good news to share.

"The game I made is doing really well," Finn said, trying to sound casual.

His father smiled, pride shining in his eyes. "That's wonderful, son. I always knew you'd do something amazing."

After dinner, Finn returned to his room. The dashboard now showed over 200,000 downloads and nearly half a million dollars in revenue. Oracle had already set up automated systems to handle customer support, updates, and community management.

"Oracle, this is unreal," Finn said, shaking his head.

"It is the result of your vision and my execution, Sir," Oracle replied.

Finn grinned. "Let's keep it going. Make sure the servers are stable and the players are happy."

"Already on it, Sir. I am monitoring all systems and responding to player feedback in real time," Oracle assured him.

Days passed in a blur. EmpireLink Online continued to dominate the charts, breaking records for indie game launches. Major gaming magazines featured Finn in interviews, and his social media following exploded. Oracle handled the business side flawlessly, negotiating deals and expanding the game's reach.

Within a month, the game had surpassed five million downloads and generated over $15 million in revenue. Finn upgraded his setup—finally buying that ergonomic chair, a new desk, and even a high-end VR headset to experience his own creation in its full glory.

Despite the success, Finn remained grounded. He still helped out at his father's shop, enjoyed breakfast with his family, and took time to relax. Oracle became more than just an assistant; she was a partner, always ready with advice or a witty remark.

One evening, as Finn watched the sunset from his window, Oracle spoke up.

"Sir, I have analyzed player data and identified several features that could further enhance the game's popularity. Would you like to review them?"

Finn smiled. "Sure, Oracle. Let's make EmpireLink Online even better."

He realized that, with Oracle by his side, the possibilities were endless. For now, though, he was content to enjoy the fruits of his labor—a thriving game, a happy family, and the knowledge that he had created something truly special.

As the stars appeared in the night sky, Finn felt a quiet confidence settle over him. Whatever challenges lay ahead, he knew he was ready.

The world of EmpireLink Online was just beginning—and so was Finn's own adventure.

---

It was a sunny day.

Finn was out for an important errand.

In many web novels, authors frustrate readers by making it seem as if the protagonist was born yesterday. But that's not the case here. This author knows how annoying that can be, so I won't do that.

Now that Finn had money, he wanted to use it to improve his family's life. He had earned over $20 million as his personal budget, simply because his company consisted of just himself. All the money went directly to him.

That wouldn't last forever, though. Once Finn expanded his company beyond just himself and Oracle, he wouldn't be able to earn this much, this quickly, from the game alone.

For his family's safety, Finn decided to buy a safe house. That's why he was here.

[...]

"So... tell me about this house of yours," Finn said, eyeing the agent.

"Yes, Sir. This villa is a large property, covering around 2,500 square feet," the agent began.

The villa had many rooms, with two underground floors. The ground floor was designed as a domestic bunker, capable of protecting the family from anything short of a direct missile strike. At your $20 million budget, Sir, this was the best I could find.

The house also features CCTV surveillance, is fully furnished, comes with encrypted Wi-Fi, and includes a security team to protect your family for one year—after which you'll need to renew their contract.

It even comes with a Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The design is modern, with bulletproof glass.

[...]

The agent continued listing features as they toured the house, and the more Finn heard, the more he realized this was the best possible outcome.

After all, it would be hard to gather this much money again. Once the company grew beyond just Finn and Oracle, he wouldn't be able to earn so much so quickly from the game.

After purchasing the house, Finn collected all the property papers and the keys to the house and car. Once inside, he sat on the couch.

He found a box labeled 'Burberry'—a luxury British clothing brand. Before coming here, he had asked Oracle to buy him a set of clothes that would look good on him. Apparently, Oracle had chosen well: a dark blue trench coat, pants, a light shirt, shoes, and sunglasses.

He also found a barber waiting. As soon as Finn arrived, the barber set up a salon inside the house and gave Finn a haircut.

'Looks like Oracle arranged this as well,' Finn thought, amused.

Oracle was truly performing well. If someone claimed Oracle was a top fashion expert, Finn would believe it. Why? Because Oracle was always training in various fields. Even now, Oracle was probably learning something new.

With full access to Finn's bank account, Oracle could always provide for the company's needs. Whenever a conversation was needed, Oracle would generate an AI voice and handle it.

Soon, the haircut was done and the barber packed up and left.

Finn put on his coat and shoes, but left the sunglasses since he didn't need them indoors—they were for the sun, after all. He took the elevator to the third floor of the mansion. The mansion had four floors: ground, first, second, and third, plus two underground levels. The lowest floor required a password only Finn knew; otherwise, the elevator wouldn't go there.

There was also a hidden exit from the second underground floor to the backyard. On the third floor, Finn found himself in a lobby with a couch and natural sunlight streaming through a nearby window.

A small corridor led to five luxurious rooms, each with its own unique style. Every room had its own bathroom and toilet—no sharing required.

Finn chose the room that best suited his taste and took the electronic key. Inside, the room was spacious, with a modern wooden design that matched his preferences. He liked the wood textures, the artificial plants, the paintings, the king-sized bed, and the wall-sized window that filled the room with sunlight. On the other side was a small bathroom with a tub big enough for two.

Finn stood in front of the large mirror near the closet, which was empty since he hadn't bought many clothes yet. He decided that when he got a girlfriend, he'd buy more clothes. Until then, he'd stick with the two sets Oracle had provided.
