Synopsis
In a world where gods bestow power through divine pacts, most mortals spend their lives chasing scraps of favor — hoping for blessings they may never receive. Among these gods was one so obscure, so forgotten, that only a handful remembered his name: the God of Games. Weak, ignored, and nearly erased from existence. Then one day, everything changed. A system appeared. Stats. Skills. Levels. Quests. Power granted not by prayer… but by progress. No altars. No priests. No need for faith. Just growth. They call it the Divine Quest. A game from the gods. A path to strength. As kingdoms tremble, old powers grow nervous, and players begin rising in ways no one thought possible...

Chapter 1 - 1. System

Somewhere in the infinite expanse of the divine plane, a plane beyond existence and non-existence altogether, in one of the the divine realms, an orb of overwhelming divine energy can be seen glowing at the center of this divine realm.

The orb was overflowing with divine energy and was about to undergo a divine transformation. Then, suddenly, the entire realm shook. As if something was hitting it.

*Shook.

*Shook.

 And then suddenly something cracked.

*Crack.

And in what seemed to be the sky of the realm, a crack appeared. And just like that, the space in the sky was cracking, resembling a mirror breaking apart. As more time flew by, the crack became larger and larger. And from the darkness behind the space, a huge figure descended.

It's height was about four meters tall and had two arms. The being wore a robe which hid it's face and whole body.

It flew towards the orb flaring with divine energy and when the being reach there, it extended one of it's hand's towards it.

When it touched the orb, it suddenly felt all it's power being sucked inside the orb and then the being began to float in the realm without any movement.

It had all it's divine energy sucked inside the orb. With it's body floating in the space of the divine realm.

And then the orb began to transform. The orb slowly transformed into a humanoid being of two metres in stature.

A feature less, humanoid white figure with a glow without a nose. The figure was lean and exuded a radiant aura.

He was a god, a new born god.

After awakening, he quickly repaired his divine realm without any delay.

He looked at the body of the god that tried to steal his divinity with disdain, although it couldn't be shown as he had no facial features which could help him showcase his feelings.

"An idiot on top of being weak, huh. What a fool."

After saying that, with just gesture of his hand, he threw the body of the god outside of his divine realm, into the void of nothingness.

And then went on to check that god's divinity and memories he absorbed when he was on the brink of awakening.

From the memories he found out many things such as that god's identity and many more.

He was the god of games, and his purpose for coming here was to steal some of his divinity.

Although he couldn't tell what type of divinity the new born god possessed, he still came to steal it.

It wasn't his fault though, because he was about to fade into nothing because he didn't had enough believers who could provide him with enough divine energy to sustain himself.

Nobody really believed much in the god of games as what he can do other gods can do far better.

If someone wants to win a game of luck, why would they pray to the god of games, they can pray to the gods of luck and other gods for other games.

For game of archery, to the god of archery and so on.

Although he could just sustain himself with the faith generated by mortals playing games.

The amount generated was more than enough even without much believers to sustain himself.

But just sustainance wasn't something he wanted, he wanted self sustainance which could only be possible when he reached intermediate god, where a god can just absorb divine energy from the void and didn't need divine energy generated by believers faith to sustain oneself.

His divinity over the aspect of games provided him with enough divine energy to sustain even without needing dedicated believers but not enough to surpass the lower stage of gods.

That's why he thought of something unique to gather his believers in the mortal realm.

That something unique was an idea, the idea of making a system.

A system which could make the lives of his believers like a game through which they could change their lives.

The system depeended not on the luck but on the hard work of believers.

This system will allow fast growth of the believers which would also be of great help to him in the future.

In the process of creating the system, the god of games was put in a predicament, he didn't have enough divine energy to even complete the system halfway through, so he tried to steal an unborn god's divinity.

But he didn't know that god would awaken on the worst possible moment for him.

The new god pondered and found that god's divinity and idea too good to discard so he completely absorbed it and made it his second aspect. The aspect of games.

He also needed a new divinity to act as his own was no too good for the order. If he used his own divinity without much thought it could put everything into chaos and disorder.

So games divinity would be great cover for himself and that idea of the previous god of games was also too good.

After much pondering, he decided to work on that idea of system, because he had all the outline planned thanks to the previous god of games and then began to work.

"Let's start from scratch."

"First, let's begin with basics, a satus window, shall we."

And then, he began to work on the status window.

He first started with stats, stats such as:

Strength (STR) – Physical power

Agility (AGI) – Speed, reflexes, dodge

Dexterity (DEX) – Precision, ranged weaponry, fine motor skills.

Endurance (END) – Health, stamina

Intelligence (INT) – Mana, learning

Wisdom (WIS) – Mana regen, skill usage, insight

Luck (LCK) – Rare events, loot, crits

Vitality (VIT) – Increases maximum HP

"Now that its done, let's focus on other things."

And then added more things for the status window.

After much contemplation, he came to this simple design.

The design was very simple and cmprehensive.

Everything was self explanatory.

Exp refers to experience points with which believers or rather players as what he would rather call them, would grow. Exp would be awarded to the player after they kill something. Exp is nothing more than the divine energy present in the dead creature.

60% would be given to him as sacrifice and 40% would be the players share. Players would also be awarded loots from the dead creature such as items, coins etc.

Titles are non physical rewards given upon achieving certain milestones.

Stats points are awarded upon levelling up. Five stats per level.

There are five basic classes that the players could choose from:

Warrior – Melee tank or damage dealer with high endurance.

Mage – Ranged spellcaster with powerful elemental or arcane attacks.

Rogue – Agile melee damage dealer with stealth and critical hit potential.

Archer – Ranged physical attacker specializing in mobility and precision.

Cleric – Support class focused on healing, buffs, and holy magic.

Now that everything's set up, stat, quest, revival, he began to find his first believer using god's eye in the mortal plane.

Revival: A feature in which ones the player dies, there soul is transported into a black room where after spending three days, they revives either on the place they died or the nearest anchors which are located in the center of the city also know as resurrection stone or teleportation stone commonly known as anchors.

God's eye is a divine skill only gods are able to use. Although it doesn't work in areas with stronger divine presence than the god's level but it isn't a problem for him though.

He began to look for a desperate one, in need of help. The previous god of games doesn't had much believers, and those who were his believers didn't have that strong faith because of which he took that step.

Now that he had the games divinity, he also had his believers but he didn't want shallow ones who were on the verge of converting. So he began looking for new ones and he quickly found one too, a boy.

________

In one of the border villages of the Val empire in the mortal realm. A boy was going about doing what he had to do. He was carrying a bucket filled with water from the well at the outskirts of the village.

He seemed to be fifteen, he didn't seemed thet good, although. He had no parents, an orphan that worked at the village chief's house.

He was just a child when the villagers had found him at the outskirts of the village, crying.

The villagers looked everywhere for the child's guardian but found no one and they couldn't also leave the child there.

Among the villagers, it was decided that one of them will adopt him but no one volunteered, because of which the village chief adopted him.

The chief took good care of him and gave him the name vael and when he became capable of working, began giving him work.

"Hide, hide monsters are coming." Some villager said who were coming from behind him.

The villager's cry sent chills down his spine and he quickly threw the bucket and ran off to find a hiding spot.

Some villagers even stopped in their tracks in fear, but quickly ran off to hide themselves.

The village hunters were running towards where the monsters were with weapons in their hands, they thought it was like usual. Some weak monsters had come of the mystic forest in search of food like it was always whenever monsters appeared.

But when they went near the monsters, they realised how wrong they were.

Their panic stricken body stopped in their tracks after witnessing what monster had appeared.

It was a goblin chief, it was quite a strong monster strong monster who very rarely came.

The hunters would have ran off just seeing that a goblin chief had appeared but they couldn't run off too no matter what because their families were in the village and if they ran they will die.

So, after they gathered their courage, gulping their saliva, charged towards the goblins.

"My fellow villagers, so not fear these vermins, let's charge towards and kill it. For the village's sake, KILL!" A hunter roared.

Following him, the other hunters also roared and charged towards the goblins.

One by one they easily killed the minions and charged towards the chief.

The hunters surrounded the goblin chief but the chief seeing that also did not idly by.

He lunged towards one of the hunters and before it could reach them, the other hunters attacked.

The goblin chief parried the attack with his club and knocked the attacker over.

The hunter god knocked behind and his head hit the tree, making him unconscious.

Then suddenly another hunter lunged forward and striked the goblin in the head. The goblin staggered but didn't fall.

This enraged the goblin chief highly and in an enraged state it tried to kill the attacker and lunged towards the hunter at full speed, killing him in one strike of his club.

Seeing this the other hunters gulped their saliva and quickly, together the attacked the goblin chief at their full strength.

Engaging in a life and death battle.

The hunters attacked together but they couldn't take down the goblin chief and were instead killed by it.

The goblin chief was also heavily wounded.

Here in the village everything was on fire because of some villagers carelessness while running, most of the villagers died because of it.

Vael who was still hiding in the village chiefs house was trapped, fire engulfed the house.

Unable to get out of the house, he readily accepted his fate after trying to escape but couldn't.

He began to reminisce about his village life which was not so good but not bad either.

Before he thought he was now about to be completely engulfed by the raging flames and be charred, he remembered his dream.

A dream where someone told him, in his most dire situation, to remember that someone in the dream with his whole heart.

Remembering the dream, he clasped his hands and began to call him, hoping something would happen.

And then after a few seconds of nothing, something did happen.

A blue screen appeared before him, telling him to walk out and nothing would happen and then it vanished.

After that, he although, doubtful at first, did as he was told because he could not feel the heat now although the flames were still raging as vigorously as ever.

After he came out of the house unscathed, he was surprised seeing nothing had happened to him.

Thinking the one he prayed to was some kind of God, he thanked them again, although not knowing what god it was.

This world has many gods worshipped by people, he never really whole heartedly worshipped any god.

Because he felt it to be a waste as he hadn't seen any miracles causes by the gods as said by churches and villagers but seeing it first hand, he began to believe in the god who saved him from the fire.

Suddenly, another screen appeared in front of him showing his name, level and such things he hadn't ever heard about. And now he could also begin to feel the heat of flame and walked away from near the fire.
