Chapter 2 - Battle, or is it?

The cursed spirits were somewhat wary of the blade that appeared in Touma's hands. While it didn't feel like a proper tool, it still contained some energy or feeling that seemed to contradict their own existence.

Kenjaku, the monk, seemed almost gleeful. He was an advocator for the jujutsu arts, wanting to bring about a golden age, and the fact a new variable in sorcery seemed to delight his more inquisitive mind.

"Now friends" Kenjaku said, a particular tone in his voice, "No need to get violent in such a nice place." Touma raised an eyebrow at the words used, almost as if he wasn't really trying to stop whatever was happening. Touma was born of one-to-many lives for him to have the wool pulled over his eyes this easy.

"He's not a true human" Volcano head, Jogo, uttered. "So I don't see a point in playing nice with him."

The heat seemed to raise in waves of power, and Touma, was reaching for his talismans before a cold feeling washed over him. It wasn't unpleasant feeling, but a feeling of kindness that couldn't be expressed possibly.

He felt a connection to his cafe deepen on new levels, he felt as if he could control everything that happened within it. An ethereal chuckle echoed in his mind, and he felt tense yet also inviting of the voice. Seeing as how it didn't seem like a hostile presence, he let it go as he focused on the volcano head.

"Jogo"

Words uttered in a language that seemed so ancient, it verged on unintelligible. The one who spoke it was the spirit that had wooden horns growing in pace of eyes, like antennae of sorts.

"Hanami" Jogo growled as his heat dampened. "Why do you interfere?" Jogo looked at Hanami, the one with wooden horns, in a mood that was unhappy. Hanami didn't speak for a moment before he continued with "He is protected by something, something powerful". Jogo looked at Hanami with an accusing eye but seemingly relented.

Touma was still staring at them, ready to excercise them if needed, but it seemed as if the situation resolved itself. They finished eating their meal and left.

Touma breathed a sigh of relief as he felt a presence descend onto his shop. The shop was enveloped by a strange and foreign divinity. Divinity to a onmyoji wasn't to strange, considering that he has met and talked to lesser gods like the river kami.

The divinity, which was a slight purple, congealed into a simple shrine holding a statue figure of a veiled lady with flowing hair and a well developed body. It eminated a divinity which was palpable and thick in concentration. The meaning was obvious as he retrieved some food and put it on the altar, and clapped, bowed, then clapped as the food disappeared.

He then felt a presence in his mind, like something was trying to connect to a server of some sort.

"Hello" echoed a calm and soothing voice. The presence in the room seemingly magnified after the utterance of words. "Who are you?" uttered Touma as the voice chuckled in amusement.

"I am the dark before dark, the void before void. I am called lady darkness, the dark which preceded creation. I was the primordial seas which predated the world. These are only a few of my names, but you can call me Elizabeth" said with a flair that caused a temporary darkness in the cafe before it suddenly lifted.

"Huh, that's surprisingly normal" said Touma. "Well, I was there before things had names, so I gave myself one" she said. "Okay, here comes the main question, why are you here?" asked Touma. "Well, I wanted to check on the reincarnation I made" she chuckled. Touma seemed gobsmacked at this info, as he never knew who or what reincarnated him before now.

"You reincarnated me?" Touma gasped in surprised. "Of course! I reincarnated you for a singular purpose""What purpose is it?""Marriage!". Touma seemed to reflexively spit out something in his mouth at the surprising moment.

"What?" he stammered profusely, confused on why a being like Elizabeth would take him on as a husband.

"Of course! Marriage is a dream of mine, to cultivate a husband of greate strength to bear my eternal life with me" she said in an joyful manner. "But why?" asked Touma. "Well, spending eternity alone seems boring, so I wish for a partner. Of course I have to get you up to par in strength, which is why I did what I did" she prattled on. There seemed to be important information in there Touma Should have probably paid attention too.

"So, why can't you just descend here?" Touma asked. "The multiverse would strain itself to support my existence, considering I predate the whole thing and didn't contribute to its existence thus I cannot just descend" she explained.

"Oh, neat" muttered Touma who was feeling drained by the whole thing as Elizabeth just giggled. "Don't worry, I will strengthen you according, so Ill leave you to it! Also remember to pray at my shrine!" she screamed before her presence left.

Touma sighed as he went to clean glasses and plates. He was feeling hungry so he decided to make some instant noodles he had lying around. It was a brand from Korea he wasn't familiar with.

He made the package and ate them with astonishing speed. Spicy and sweet, soft with a good texture. Those were the thoughts echoing in his mind as he ate his lunch, already feeling stressful from what happened today.

As he was about to pour himself a glass of his favorite tea to calm down, the bell rang again as a man dressed as weird as they could possibly go comes in.

A white cloak with pastel flower arrangements, white hair with pink tips, and a strange, and I mean utterly strange, staff which looked like it was hobbled together by a magical fifth grader strides in the restaraunt, looking utterly befuddled.

"Peculiar, how peculiar" he muttered as he took notice of Touma and seemed immediately intrigued and made his way over. Touma almost seemed disturbed from this character and was seemingly keeping some power active and gathered.

"Hello sir" the character greeted casually. "Greetings from the mystical land of avalon, I am Merlin and I wish to partake in the vittles of the establishment" said Merlin. Touma stared with wide eyes and his brain seemingly went on autopilot and made him some food and decided to disappear in the back.

When he peeked back in and saw he was still there, he groaned and Merlin seemingly was having fun with this and wiggled his finger as Touma sailed through the air in front of the greatest wizard alive, alive not dead.

"This meal was most exquisite. I do not have coin but I have something better in return for this succulent treat!" Merlin exclaimed as a white floof appeared from his sleeves. It was like a squirrel, cute and fluffy with the fur on its neck like a collar on fancy robes.

"This is Fou, he's a friend of mine and a great familiar" said Merlin as Fou, who did an about face, immediately kicked Merlin in the face and landed on Toumas shoulder. "You know what, I like you" said Touma as he banished Merlin from the place.

"You know what, I am gonna make a nice steaming cup of tea" said Touma and went to the back, with Fou following with him.
