Past.

He groaned and began to toss and turn as he realized he was lying on a hard and uncomfortable surface. Considering the various pebbles and pebbles that dug into his back, it was safe to assume that his temporary resting place was ordinary earth.

A slight crunch of burning wood could be heard nearby, and indeed the slight heat he felt indicated a nearby campfire.

He didn't feel the best, demonic energy was scarce, and the numerous bruises felt painful throughout his body.

What happened? He remembered trying to teleport, and later....

He woke up here. The presence of a nearby fire suggests help from strangers, and his makeshift bed suggests his family's lack of help.

Figuring that he was unlikely to be able to play unconscious for long, Emeric began to lift his body and open his eyes, which immediately had to be slightly shielded from the unfamiliar light of the fire.

Some kind of shallow cave. As he had expected, there was a makeshift fire in the center, and a girl sitting across from him, looking at him warily.

Young, about thirteen, about his age. White hair, gray eyes, very pretty, but, by all accounts, she hadn't cleaned up her appearance in a long time. Dirty clothes, the remnants of some dress, a grimy face and eyes that gave away all the apprehension of their mistress.

«Uh, ahem," Emeric cleared his dry throat. He hoped there was water around here somewhere. - Hello? - He started the introductions tentatively.

His interlocutor said nothing and continued to glare.

«Well," he looked around the cave. There was nothing to give away his approximate location, and he wasn't sure, knowing his abilities, what would work. - My name is Emeric Gremory, and...

At the word of his name, the girl stood up lightning fast and assumed a fighting stance. Large white wings with feathers of blue light appeared behind her and began to glow with a disturbing radiance in time with her mistress's restlessness.

«Ah," Emeric was dumbfounded by this act of aggression. - You are... - An unbelievable guess came to his mind. - You're the mistress of the Divine Divide! - The said mistress backed off slightly from his display of bigotry. - You have such cool wings! And why are you a demon but have a Sacred Mechanism? Are you a reborn? Who's your king? Will you join my retinue? Join me!

Emeric stood up and, ignoring her abrupt posture, began bouncing around her and excitedly bombarding her with questions and suggestions. His sincere enthusiasm was so strong that the girl was a little confused and lost her desire for an immediate fight.

«Shut the fuck up! - she couldn't take it anymore.

Emeric froze in place.

«My name is," she thought about whether to say it or not. - Valerie," she decided. - How did you end up here?

«What do you mean?

«Literally," she looked at his damaged clothes. - You fell through the sky a couple hours ago, not far from here. I had to drag you back to my cave.....

«Where are we?

«I kind of don't know," she answered a little embarrassed. - Where did you come from?

«Well, I teleported," he looked thoughtfully at the small forest that was visible from the exit of the cave. - And I came, well, from Castle Lucifer," Emeric scratched the back of his head. - The town seems to be something on "Lee..."

«Lilith? - She raised an eyebrow.

«Well, I guess...

«What do you mean, I guess? - she retracted her wings and sat back down, waiting for a similar repetition from him. - You don't remember the name of your town?

«I kind of," Emeric looked away embarrassed. - I sometimes have trouble with things like that...

«So you're an idiot? - With feigned interest, she asked.

«No! - she replied indignantly. - I sometimes have trouble figuring out my location.... - he realized this was not the time to embellish. - It's always more accurate. I almost always don't know exactly where I am.

Valerie looked at him with an unspeakable expression on her face and silently proceeded to throw new wood into the fire.

«Mmm, Valerie," he decided to try to make a dialog. - So you're reborn?

«No, I don't.

«But where did you get it from?

«My mom's human. I'm half demon, so I have a Sacred Mechanism.

«Do you have somewhere to go? - With hidden impatience he asked.

«No," she looked at him suspiciously. - I don't have a home...

«Ha ha ha ha," he laughed triumphantly. - Isn't that fate? - he stood up to make himself look more personable. - I am Emeric Gremory, offering you to be the first part of my, by far the coolest in the future, entourage. Я...

«No," she replied briefly.

«But why?!

He'd had his Evil Figures for several years now, and it was today that he made his first offer. He'd ignored numerous requests from other demons and similarly overlooked all recommendations from his family. Emeric was sure that sooner or later he would realize when exactly 'the one' figure himself would be in front of him. And it seemed that day would come today. Wasn't it a sign when he met a completely random person with the Divine Divide?

«Because I'm not going to be a pawn in someone else's hands anymore," she said angrily. - I've heard roughly how it is with these figures. To you, they're just slaves...

«Oh no! - he shouted indignantly. - In my family, that is, the Gremory family, such a thing is not customary! We only propose once and have never exchanged figures with other demons. They are like family to us...

«So I believed you! - she interrupted. - You can practice on other fools, but now that you're awake, get the hell out of my cave!

«Don't you see that Fate itself has brought me to you? You are apparently on the run, and I must come and rescue you from this dreary place!

«Save yourself first," she extended mockingly.

«What do you know, you stupid woman, the plan is already in motion! And for that, I need a queen in my entourage!

«Well, "King," she emphasized the word. - What's the plan?

«I," he looked around confused. - You'll join us, won't you?

«No!" she summed up their impromptu argument categorically.

An awkward silence formed between them, diluted only by the sound of the fire burning.

Sighing at the unfairness of the world, Emeric sat down and began to formulate a plan to recruit one prickly girl. Retreat or rejection was not an option he considered.

Just as he began to help her prepare the food, Emeric felt a vaguely familiar aura in his periphery. Greyfia's aura, along with several other unfamiliar centers of power!

Stop! The aura was similar, but not exactly. There were subtle differences between this aura and that of his favorite maid.

«Partner! - Valerie's wings reappeared behind her back. - They've come for us!

«Shit!" Valerie cursed, and looked at him thoughtfully for a second. I guess she was thinking about whether or not to quit. - King, we have to get out of here! If they just tie me up, they won't leave you with a wet spot!

Valerie couldn't finish because Emeric promptly grabbed her and flew out of the cave, which was completely encased in ice a second later. A very familiar magic to Emeric!

«Oh, young lady, have you made a friend...?

A company of a small number of demons appeared before them. They were led by a young-looking man with silver hair, dressed in a butler's uniform. A familiar style, a familiar professionalism, and a familiar way of doing things.

A member of the Lucifuge family stood before Emeric! A clan that had always served only...

Emeric looked at Valerie in shock, who was showing with her whole appearance that she was not willing to give up without a fight.

Apparently Valerie was on the run and these demons were trying to get her back.

«Hi," he defused the awkward situation. - Uh, my name is," he looked at Valerie in a panic. - Valera," and onto the wings. - White-winged...

«Couldn't you think of a better name?! - everyone in the room exploded.

«Something tells me that you, young sir, are deceiving us," the Lucifug demon said with pressure. - Why don't you tell me your real name?

«Um," he watched Valerie put her palm to her face. - Hand Face...

«Your name is Hand Face...? - not believing his own words, the demon asked.

«True enough...

«You stink a mile away from that stupid bitch on the throne! - The aura around the demon surged.

«I would refrain from making such comments....

«And what are you going to do? - The demon asked ironically.

«I will do what I consider treason of the highest rank," Emeric looked him seriously in the eye. - I'll complain to your older relative....

«Ha ha ha ha," the demon began to laugh hysterically. - Does Greyfia spend her life caring for such undemons? - he abruptly changed his demeanor and looked at him with no-nonsense anger. - It doesn't matter anymore, I would take great pleasure in seeing how this Usurperess would react to her favorite brother's head in a box...

A blast of pure power of destruction that flew out from beneath the layers of earth prevented him from finishing his sentence. The demon had to move sharply upwards to avoid being devoured by the toxic force of destruction. His companions were not saved from this fate.

«Fission! - his ice barrier, which he had been covering himself with, lost strength dramatically and he had to break the distance between himself and the pair of young demons.

«I admit my mistake," he carelessly began to shake off his uniform. - I didn't notice you creating a bomb of Bael's power underneath us. Not bad, but not enough!

He threw his arms out in front of him and kicked up a deadly blizzard. It was incredibly strong, and it brought razor-sharp icicles with it.

«Fission!

Valerie and Emeric, without collusion, began to work in tandem to survive this deadly magical blizzard, which had just an incredible concentration of demonic power. No wonder, for the demon was far more powerful than the upper class, practically Satan.

Emeric put up a barrier of the power of destruction in front of him, while the other stood behind him and used the power of her Sacred Mechanism to weaken the pressure of the magical element.

Sweat began to trickle down the foreheads of the two young demons. They realized that if this continued, they would sooner or later run out of strength. Their opponent was stronger and more experienced, even though he was several hundred years old, and they were not even fourteen.

«Do you trust me? - He shouted to his companion. The deadly blizzard, with nearly the full force of a demon of a level not far from Satan's class, made it difficult to see or see, let alone hear.

«Do you have a plan? - She shouted the same to him.

«Yes!" The power of destruction had so far dissolved the opposing element, but Emeric realized that they would lose in a stupid tug-of-war. - Do you trust me or not?

Valerie, who was already close to the limit, thought for a second, but nodded anyway.

«I trust you!

«That's great! - A magic circle began to appear underneath them. - Because of the two of us, you're the only one who has faith in my powers!

Emeric used his new crowning trick.

He, taking Valerie with him, teleported somewhere.
