Chapter 7 - Chapter 9: The First Strike

Darkness still cloaked the mansion, but within Lin Yue's heart, a storm was brewing. Her months of patience, observation, and subtle manipulations were about to bear fruit. Tonight, she planned her first decisive move—a silent, deadly strike to shake her enemies' foundation.

She moved through the mansion with practiced stealth, her presence like a whisper in the night. She knew her husband, Wei Long, often spent his evenings in his secret hideaway, indulging his vices. She had discovered the hidden passage—a secret door behind a bookshelf that led directly into his study.

Leaning softly against the wall, she listened through the thin wooden door. Inside, male voices echoed—Wei Long arguing on the phone, clearly with his mistress. A sly smile played on her lips. This was her moment.

She pushed gently against the door, which opened with only a whisper. Peering inside, she saw Wei Long, his face flushed, clutching a glass of wine, completely unaware of her presence. She had prepared herself mentally; her energy surged within her, ready for the moment.

Quietly, she released a faint wave of her unseen power—causing a mild tremor in the room, enough to distract him. The glass in his hand trembled, spilling a little wine onto the floor. Wei Long looked up sharply, confused.

At that precise moment, she stepped into the room, her voice low and icy. "Did you think you could hide forever?"

He froze. His eyes widened in shock as she emerged from the shadows, serene yet terrifying. The mask of indifference crumbled for a second before he regained composure and sneered, "Yue... what are you doing here?"

Lin Yue smiled coldly. "I know everything. Your secrets. Your lies. How you've betrayed your family—me, your wife, your son. It ends tonight."

With a gesture, she sent a subtle pulse of energy—causing a flicker of lights to dance dangerously, making the room seem unstable. Wei Long's face twisted with fear and anger.

"You'll regret this," he snarled, reaching into his pocket for a weapon. But Lin Yue was faster. With a sharp mental command, the lights burst into a dazzling display, temporarily blinding him.

In that moment, she moved—her hand darted out and gently but firmly grabbed his wrist, forcing the weapon away. Her eyes, calm but deadly, locked onto his.

"Your lies, your betrayal—everything has led to this. You think you can escape the karma you've sown," she whispered. "I'll make sure you pay for your sins."

She released a final, concentrated burst of energy—enough to cause a loud bang, startling him into unconsciousness. While he was stunned, she slipped away into the night, leaving behind only the evidence of his guilt.

As she retreated, she looked back at the mansion, her heart pounding with a mixture of triumph and restraint. This was only the beginning. Her enemies had tasted her vengeance, but her war was far from over.

The mansion fell silent once more—the first chapter of her revenge completed. She knew they would be shaken, paranoid, and vulnerable now. And her next targets would be easier to expose.

She whispered into the night, "Justice has begun."

And with that, Lin Yue's silent crusade for retribution had truly begun.
