Chapter 53 - After Today, There Will Be No More Homelander

"Vogelbaum researched me, and there are no secrets at Vought that he doesn't know, yet he told me my son died at birth, tearing through his mother's belly and drowning in a pool of blood.

You all lied to me, didn't you!"

"Tell me, where is my son? I will never let my child suffer the same pain I did!"

Homelander roared, his strength so great he was about to crush Madelyn's head, making her scream in pain.

Both of their stories were suspicious, definitely hiding something. Compared to these two, he now believed the message given to him by Vought's founder's wife, Stormfront, even more.

"Ah, ah, your son is indeed still alive... He has been properly placed by the company, receiving education. He lives a very happy life, and I don't know where he is either."

Arguing further at this point was useless. Madelyn's teeth chattered as she revealed part of the truth, but she did not completely betray Vought, hiding the specific location of Homelander's son.

"Living happily, hehe... Do you think I'd believe that!"

He must have grown up in a cold laboratory just like me. Considering his age, he's already started undergoing all sorts of inhumane experiments to test his abilities, electric shocks, Fire, and nerve toxins..."

Thinking of his own painful experiences and twisted childhood, Homelander completely disbelieved that Vought would be so kind. The thought of his son going through what he went through instantly filled him with uncontrollable rage.

Bang bang bang!

"I will find my son and bring him back to my side.

I've also had enough of Vought controlling my life. After today, everything will be different!"

Homelander lifted Madelyn with one hand, instantly smashing through layers of roofing and arriving above the Vought Tower. The Vought commercial building and the bustling city were all beneath his feet.

"Let me go, Homelander, I told You everything..." At the dizzying height beneath her feet, in the cold wind high up, Madelyn begged frantically for mercy.

The loud noise made some passersby below notice the commotion at Vought Tower. They stared at the two black dots above the building, pointing and gesturing.

"What's that sound?"

"What is that? What is Homelander doing up there."

"He seems to be holding someone in his hand. What is he going to do? Kill them!"

"I told You, Homelander is a cold-blooded Butcher. Being a Hero is just his disguise... Everyone, look..."

"You've already caused public panic, John, let me down."

Madelyn pleaded tearfully, trying to use Homelander's long-standing weakness to make him spare her.

Homelander's super hearing picked up all the people's words. In the past, he would immediately panic and sweat, worrying about his image.

But over the past few days, he had heard too many accusatory remarks and seen too many disgusted faces, developing significant resistance.

Homelander was indifferent, his cold voice terrifyingly clear in the wind, containing suppressed, furious madness.

"Someone told me that Vought is like a stake to an elephant for me, that what has always bound me is just the 'fear' I've developed over the years in my heart. I have the power to create a World that operates according to my will!

Now - I want to try."

Having spoken, Homelander heartlessly shot out red beams, piercing through Madelyn's head and letting the gruesomely dead body fall towards the ground.

A free fall of hundreds of meters, the body burst open like a smashed tomato, pieces of flesh and blood splashing onto the faces of passersby.

"Blood... murder, Homelander committed murder!"

"He's gone mad!"

"Help!"

Passersby screamed and fled in terror, like a panicked ant colony. Fear quickly spread from the entire street to the entire city.

"Sir, Homelander is out of control!"

Through the floor-to-ceiling window, Edgar looked at Madelyn's body on the ground. His face was grave as he took out his phone to report.

Just as he finished speaking, a figure with blood-red eyes descended from the top of the building, like the God of Death staring, looking back at him through the glass.

Homelander shattered the glass and flew into the eighty-second floor office, accompanied by the cold wind.

"You're insane! Do You know how much trouble this will cause the company!"

Edgar didn't retreat an inch, but instead angrily rebuked him.

The demeanor of remaining calm even when Mount Tai collapses before him made Homelander raise an eyebrow, but this time, he wouldn't be intimidated.

"These past few days, Vought has taught me one thing: the importance of public relations."

As long as You manipulate the media machine, black can be said to be White, just like how Vought covered up the things I did before.

I really do need Vought. If I want fans to love me, I cannot leave Vought."

Homelander put his hands behind his back, changing his tone.

"Once Vought falls into my hands - drug influence, mind control, shapeshifting Superheroes criminals, or mass hallucination?

The 'Truth' will be written by me.

This matter will pass quickly. At most, it will become a topic of conversation after meals for a while, and then no one will mention it again."

"You're dreaming."

Edgar scoffed at his daydreaming.

"Oh? Then tell me, what can Vought do to stop me?"

"The company has spent countless money and effort cultivating You. It won't easily destroy You. Before, it was just giving You a lesson.

But now You've gone too far - the director will come back and take You down. By then, it will be too late even if You beg to keep everything You have now!"

"Are You talking about Infinitoid?" Homelander didn't believe Russell could take him down at all, and sneered, "Just him, a kid who hasn't even fully grown his hair? What can he use to deal with me?"

"Stop acting tough. Do You know that Vought's founder's wife herself stroked my face and told me that Vought is just a stake that I can snap with a little effort!"

"So it was Stormfront."

Edgar cursed that crazy woman under his breath. It was truly the most correct decision for Master to kill her.

Homelander's figure flickered, and he grabbed Edgar's neck with one hand, lifting him and moving him outside the window. It looked like he was going to make him follow in Madelyn's footsteps.

"I really admire You a little. Your heartbeat is still steady without any fluctuations.

I suppose even if I threaten You with death to tell me the whereabouts of my son, You still wouldn't speak!"

Even the former Edgar would have found it hard to remain calm when about to be smashed to pieces, but the current Edgar didn't care about his life at all.

"...In that case, go to hell. I will immediately send You Infinitoid down to see You!" Looking at the expressionless Edgar in his hand, as if he disdained talking to him anymore, a hint of exasperation flashed in Homelander's eyes.

Swish!

He let go of his hand, and Edgar plummeted at high speed. The crowd who had already hidden below the building looked up in horror, watching as someone else was about to suffer Homelander's cruel hand and be smashed into pulp.

A figure flew over with arms like a bird's wings, transforming into a giant fleshy trampoline, catching Edgar.

"No one can save the person I want to kill!"

The person he wanted to kill was actually saved. Homelander's face darkened, and he was about to swoop down.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a figure in the distance flew over like lightning, stopping in mid-air and revealing a slender figure in a pitch-black battle suit.

"Is that so? If I let You kill Edgar, where would I find such a useful CEO again?"

Russell blocked Homelander's path, causing Homelander to stop his movement instantly, letting out a deeply cold, surprised chuckle.

"Under these circumstances, You actually dare to appear before me!"

"Infinitoid!"

"Homelander has gone mad, he's killing people in the street~"

"Take down Homelander, send him to court for trial, and bring justice for the innocent people who died at his hands in the past, Infinitoid!"

As the world's newest and most popular Superhero, Russell's appearance caused a wave of cheers from the public. They looked up at the figure, as if seeing a savior, hope welling up on their faces.

When did he actually become the villain standing opposite Superheroes?

"These aspirations... these cheers and gazes of admiration, they were all originally mine!"

Withdrawing his gaze from below, Homelander was deeply jealous, his face contorted. His resentful gaze shot towards Russell, his eyes lighting up with red laser beams, wishing he could skin him and tear his bones apart.

"I am the most powerful and most revered Superhero in the World. Ever since You appeared - You manipulated Edgar to target and destroy me!"

"Hero? From now on, on this Planet beneath your feet, You will only be remembered as a supervillain who hid his malicious nature for a long time."

Russell said slowly, as if stating a fact that was about to happen.

Edgar's phone had remained connected in his pocket, and he heard the whole story.

Regarding Stormfront, he had killed her fast enough, but he didn't expect that as soon as Stormfront returned, she would immediately restlessly go find Homelander, instigating him to wage war on Vought and cleanse the World.

But it didn't matter.

"After today, there will be no more Homelander!"
