"I'm not really sure I remember that location you shared with me," Jace said while driving the Lamborghini.
"Oh, have you forgotten? Take this. Follow the location shown on this phone," Josh said, stretching his phone toward Jace.
Jace, still driving, looked at the phone and immediately saw the location.
"Oh, I remember it," Jace said as he pulled over his Lamborghini, turned the car around—realizing he was going the wrong way—and started driving again.
As they drove, Josh asked him, "Jace, are you sure you want to do this? This is a place you'll never be able to come back from. No going back. Do you understand? It won't be easy to get out."
"Don't worry about that. My ambition is bigger than the risk. I just need to find out who killed my mom. When I find out, I'll take matters into my own hands. I know joining the mafia is very dangerous and not good at all. I'm not even sure if my dad is in the mafia, but I suspect he might be. Then again, maybe not—but he has mafia friends. He's acquainted with some mafia people. He's rich, powerful, and runs a huge, successful business. So my life is already set, even if I choose not to work. But I want to find the truth about my mom. I've been traumatized for years since she passed away—right in front of me. I watched her die. It was so painful. I won't give up until I get my revenge," Jace said, slowing down the car.
Josh nodded. "Okay. It looked like you had some doubts. I wasn't sure if you were ready, but it seems like you've thought this through and are prepared for the consequences. Once you go in, you can't get out. It's not that easy."
"It doesn't matter. I know all that. I'll be fine. Thanks for worrying about me," Jace replied.
"Oh," Jace said again, looking straight ahead and focusing on where he was driving—they were almost there.
But wait a minute, Jace," Josh said. "You took me to a small place before. It wasn't that big. But now, why are we at the casino we usually gamble sometimes? I know they play sports, but what the hell are we doing in a casino where people gamble?"
Jace replied, "Just shut up and follow me, bro. Just follow. And like I said before, don't stare at anyone—even in the casino. You're about to enter one of our branches. The boss usually stays here sometimes, but most of the time, she's on the move."
Josh kept walking fast, and Jace tried to keep up while listening.
"So, we have to come to the casino? Okay, no problem," Jace said.
"Don't worry, man. I'm telling you, the best place to find out what happened to your parents—what happened to your mother—is through the mafia. The underworld knows about crimes. They know about everything that happens. There's a chance they might know when it happened. So don't stress. Just focus. And like I told you before, when you meet the boss, she's ruthless. But if you don't look her in the face, you might survive. If you do, you could get shot instantly without even realizing you're dead," Josh said.
They entered the casino. Josh kept quiet and walked ahead. He led Jace to a spot that looked like a place where they usually kept drinks. Josh opened the back, and Jace was shocked—it was like a hidden passage leading to another building, a big one.
As they entered, two huge men—giants, black and muscular, about 6'3" tall, with visible kick marks on their faces—stopped them. They searched Jace and Josh thoroughly before letting them in.
Carrying the pile of cash, Josh led Jace further inside. They reached a large hall filled with people, all staring at them. The crowd seemed familiar with Josh, but Jace was a stranger. Josh waved casually, but Jace knew better than to make any sudden moves; even a small mistake could cost him his life.
Josh stayed close behind Jace as they moved away from the hall. Another door opened, and Jace sat down on a chair.
Josh said, "I'm going to get the boss. It won't be easy. I'm not sure if she'll have time, but she might give you a chance."
Jace was speechless. He just sat there quietly, resting the bag with the cash on his lap.
"Stay here quietly. Just wait," Josh said, then stood up, looked at Jace, and walked away from the room.
Josh said, "Here we are."
Jace stopped the car, pushed the gear into park, and got out. He walked to the front of the Lamborghini and opened the boot. Inside was the Louis Vuitton bag filled with $600,000 in cash. He took the bag, walked back toward Josh, pressed his key, closed the boot, and locked the car.
"Let's go. Follow me," Josh said, starting to walk forward.
Jace followed. Josh stopped for a moment and said, "Jace, don't look anyone in the eyes. Just look straight ahead, at where you're going. If anyone looks at you, don't look back. Do you understand?"
"Okay, no problem," Jace replied.
