JORDYN'S POV
I walked into the bar with Josh and was immediately dismayed by the familiar faces I saw sitting there.
"If I had told you, would you have agreed to come?" Josh said, shrugging sheepishly.
He had invited other friends.. people I didn't want to see.
I glared at him, my side eye deadly. "I hate those guys," I hissed.
Josh downplayed my concerns. "How bad can it be to just sit there and ignore them," He said, "I only wanted to liven up the place."
I sighed, not buying whatever liveliness those guys had to offer. Josh waved at the unwanted guests, announcing our arrival.
As we approached the table, one of the guys, Ivan, greeted us with a cheerful smile. "Oh, what's up dudes?" He asked, exchanging a friendly handshake with Josh.
"I can't believe our almighty Alpha Jordyn stepped out for a drink" Another guy, Edward chimed in.
I glared at him, my eyes warning him to tread carefully. "Come on Edward, don't talk like that," Josh rebuked him playfully. "You know how hard it is to bring him out, are you trying to send him away?" Josh asked with a smirk but Edward continued to push my buttons.
"Is it just me, or are Josh and Jordyn starting to look alike?" He asked jokingly.
"Come on man, they've always looked alike." Ivan replied and they all laughed-foolishly.
My patience snapped, "Shut up Edward," I suddenly retorted, my voice cold and menacing. The room fell silent, the laughter dying on their lips as they sensed my displeasure.
"Come on bro, it's a joke," Josh said in a whisper, trying to explain, but I was not having it.
"There's nothing serious about what we just said Jordyn," Edward said, trying to downplay his comment.
"Are you two lovers? Jordyn is always so protective when it comes to Josh." Ivan added sarcastically.
Josh laughed, "He'd marry me if he could! He can't do anything without me!"
The group erupted into laughter, and despite my initial irritation, I couldn't help but join in. We spent the rest of the night drinking and joking, the tension forgotten.

BRITNEY'S POV
"I'm home," I announced, my voice echoing through the house.
My mother hurried downstairs, a warm smile on her face, "Oh my baby, how are you doing?" She squealed.
"Why are you here?" My father suddenly spoke from a corner, his tone icy. I turned to him, my gaze nonchalant.
"Chill pops, know you don't want me around, but am I not welcome in my own home?" I asked him.
"You're supposed to be staying at the pack house for now." He reminded me, his expression stern.
"I never said I wouldn't go back, I just wanted to visit mom on our day off," I clarified, making it clear that my visit had nothing to do with him.
He paused for a moment before asking, "How's the training coming along?"
I raised an eyebrow, slightly irritated. "You already know what you sent me into," I said, my tone laced with sarcasm. "So why do you still care about updates?" I asked, trying to maintain a cool demeanor.
I climbed the stairs, eager to grab some clothes and blankets from home. My brother, Eric, appeared in my doorway, smirking, "What's up, sis? How's training?"
I bristled at his tone, "What do you want?"
He leaned on the doorframe. "Just wondering if you're still struggling to get your wolf. Maybe I'll sign up and show you how it's done." He said.
I glared at him. "You don't want to start something you can't finish, Eric," I said to him in a low voice.
He scoffed. "Oh, I'm shaking in my boots." He replied sarcastically.
I cut him off. "Just because dad looks down on me, doesn't mean you can too," I warned, trying my best to be calm.
Eric laughed. "You're threatening me? You're still struggling to get your wolf. Pathetic." He snorted.
I looked him in the eyes, disgust filled me. "Get out Eric, I don't have time for you,"
As I packed my bags, Eric said, "You could always come home instead of sleeping at the pack house."
I turned to him, "You call this home? Good luck with that."
I walked past him, carrying my backpack, and yelled, "Mom, I'm off!"
My mom rushed over, concerned. "You're not staying for dinner?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with disappointment.
"I have to go, mom. I'm fine, don't worry." I replied and descended the stairs.
As I left the house, I saw a car parked outside. My heart raced, hoping it's not who I think it was. What was he doing at my house?
The window rolled down, revealing the driver. "Janette!?"
"What are you waiting for? Hop in!" She said, waving me over.
