Chapter 4 - MAYBE THE DEMON WAS RIGHT

I woke in chains.

Naked. Bleeding. Bound. On my knees in the center of the capital.Stripped of everything. Even my magic.Three Archmages surrounded me, maintaining Anti-Magic Chains — seals strong enough to suppress a god.

I couldn't even feel my sword.

"What… anti-magic? Where am I?!"

Above me, in a grand balcony, the King stood with all the high nobles. The crowd below held torches.Eyes full of hatred.

"Silence!" the King roared. "The devil's child is awake!"

"WHAT IS THIS?! WHAT AM I BEING ACCUSED OF?!"

The king's voice was calm. Cruel.

"You used forbidden magic, Vladd. You made a contract with the demon. You brought the curse upon us."

"WHAT?! THAT'S A DAMN LIE!"

Gasps. Whispers. Disgust.

"He dares speak to the king like that?""He must be a devil after all…""Execute him!"

"STOP!" The King's voice boomed. "Your own parents confirmed it. They saw the pact. That is how you gained the God's Eye."

"No… no…"

My heart stopped.

My eyes turned slowly.There — my parents.Smiling.

Smirking.

They never saw me as a son. Only a tool. A weapon. A money-making prodigy.

I was nothing more than a puppet.

Then I screamed.

"ALICE!!!"

My last hope.

"Alice! Do you really think I'd ever make a pact with a demon?! You know me — you know I'd rather die!"

She stayed silent.

"Even her,my last hope—"

"was it all an act?-."

"No… no no no…"

THEN I REMEMBER THE DEMONS OFFER

"maybe the demon was right"

"i should have taken the offer and fix this rotten kindom"

My mind cracked.

"THE MOMENT I WAS BORN… THIS WORLD WAS AGAINST ME."

"I DEFENDED YOU! I BLED FOR YOU! I LOST AN ARM FOR YOU BASTARDS!!"

"Kill him!""He's possessed!""Execute the devil's child!"

The sky trembled.

The three archmages suddenly faltered.

"What's happening?!"

"The anti-magic seal… it's— it's breaking!"

My God's Eye flared. Not by choice.

My tears were glowing. My soul… shattered. And then—

"We can no longer send you to the front lines."

"Perhaps it's time for you to retire."

"Your sword will be passed on."

Passed on.My sword.My legacy.

My life.

I looked at my family.

My father — expressionless.

My mother — looking ashamed. Ashamed of me.

Alice was the only one who looked at me with pain in her eyes.

But she said nothing.

I clenched my fist.

My voice cracked as I spoke:

"You… you said I was a hero…"

They didn't answer.

"I fought. I bled. I KILLED for you."

No answer.

"AND NOW YOU CAST ME ASIDE? LIKE TRASH?!"

The room flinched.

My eye glowed gold. The God's Eye awakened.

Cracks formed on the floor beneath my feet.

"YOU ALL BETRAYED ME!!"

The guards stepped forward.

I drew Gods Speed with my left hand. Lightning sparked like thunder screaming.

"YOU TREATED ME LIKE A MACHINE! A TOOL! NOTHING BUT A DAMN WEAPON!"

A noble shouted, "Restrain him!" "Kill him already" " His possesed by demon!!!!"

But I stepped forward.

Lightning coiled around me like a storm given flesh.

"I GAVE YOU PEACE."

"I GAVE YOU BLOOD."

"AND YOU GAVE ME A GRAVE."

Silence.

My voice dropped to a whisper.Cold. Sharp.

"Now… I'll give you something back."

"The unforgiving sin."

"I will SLAUGHTER YOU ALL."

"Vladd, please!" Alice screamed, running forward.

I stopped.

Her eyes met mine — broken. Hopeful. Afraid.

I looked at her. And for a moment, the storm paused.

Then I whispered, so quiet she could barely hear:

"Even you… stayed silent."

BOOM.

A blinding flash.

Screams.

Darkness.

30 minutes later.

Silence.

I opened my eyes.

On my knees.

In the ruins of the capital.

Surrounded by corpses.

Every. Single. One.

Nobles. Mages. Townsfolk. My parents. The king. Alice.

All dead.

My sword, Gods Speed, rested beside me — the only thing that hadn't abandoned me.

"…They betrayed me…"

"I only did it because they betrayed me…"

"They deserved it."

And then… I laughed.Broken. Hollow. Mad.

From hero to monster.

The world's greatest prodigy — now its greatest sin.

I stood up, sword in hand, and walked into the storm.
