Chapter 67 - Gas Pulser! Pikachu?

After the nanomaterial is compressed into a subatomic state, it can be stored in a specially designed cobweb container.

This container is activated by a variable-frequency electric current.

Once triggered, the subatomic cobweb solution is instantly released and undergoes a series of rapid transformations—first from subatomic to atomic, then from atomic to gaseous form.

As the gas accelerates through the atmosphere, friction generates intense heat, causing the spiderweb material to transition rapidly from gas to liquid.

That liquid then quickly solidifies into the final form: solid cobweb.

Although the process sounds complex, all of these transformations occur almost instantaneously.

Under normal conditions, the spiderweb solution remains a stable liquid. Only when accelerated and heated through atmospheric friction does it become cobweb, making it easy to store in small containers and allowing for large volumes of pure webbing.

Over time, the webbing naturally degrades and vanishes, leaving no environmental impact.

Alex glanced at the blueprint he had open on his desk.

Then, he spoke: "Next, we need to find the corresponding materials."

Inside the nearby glass enclosure, a miniature Spider-Man sat quietly, observing Alex with unblinking curiosity.

Alex planned to bring the little Spider-Man to Osborn Industries the next day for more thorough testing—his own equipment, especially for diagnostics, wasn't as advanced.

"You can play in this room," Alex said to the tiny creature, "but don't leave it. Got it?"

The little Spider-Man nodded but didn't move—just continued watching him.

Alex didn't press further.

Instead, he dove into his research.

He began screening large quantities of materials, looking for those that matched the properties he needed. Experiments followed swiftly—his brain working rapidly, hands moving faster than the eye could follow.

Keyboard clicking, instruments whirring—he seemed like a blur.

After a few hours of nonstop work...

Version 1.0 of the cobweb solution was born.

It could be compressed to a subatomic state and fired, instantly transforming into a strong, adhesive cobweb upon contact.

Its only major weakness: it burned easily when exposed to fire.

Still, for just a few hours of work, Alex was pleased.

Holding a special test tube filled with silvery liquid resembling mercury, he gave it a gentle shake and smiled. "Perfect. Version 1.0 of the cobweb solution is complete."

"Now, to build the Web Shooters. I'll compress this solution into subatomic form and inject it into the shooters."

Of course, the Web Shooters themselves needed to be built from materials capable of withstanding that level of compression.

Fortunately, in the Marvel universe, such materials weren't hard to come by. Alex selected a specialized alloy used in HYDRA's exoskeleton armor—more than adequate for his needs.

"The container's material is handled. The activation button is simple enough—it's a power switch, not a mechanical one."

The button links to the shooter's CPU, which modifies the electric current's frequency and strength to activate the cobweb container.

Different electric currents result in different web types.

"The tricky part," Alex muttered, "is launching it."

He needed a high-pressure propulsion system—something like a gas pulse mechanism, akin to an air cannon.

Air cannons use rotating gas rings, similar to how spiders spin silk.

By generating a gas pulse, he could blast the liquid at high speed, allowing friction to transform it into cobweb instantly.

Using high-energy materials to generate powerful electrical bursts, he could launch the webbing faster than a bullet.

"A gas pulse generator... this might take some work."

The gas pulse device would utilize pressurized air, involving a differential pressure chamber and rapid exhaust valve to convert stored air pressure into kinetic energy.

Without wasting time, Alex began designing its components:

The gas pulse body and jet module

Three-way solenoid valves

Gas pulse controller

Tubing and check valves

Time flew by.

By 3 AM, exhaustion crept in—even for someone with his enhanced physiology.

"I'll finish the pulse generator tomorrow," Alex decided, heading upstairs.

In the glass enclosure, the little Spider-Man had fallen asleep.

Alex collapsed onto his bed for a much-needed rest.

Morning.

Alex awoke feeling completely refreshed.

He stretched, bones cracking, and yawned, "Feels great. Only a few hours of sleep, but I'm good."

Today was the day he would perform surgery on Elizabeth.

Downstairs, Klaue had already prepared a nutrient-rich breakfast.

"You're up," Klaue greeted him.

Alex nodded.

Elizabeth was on the couch, yawning groggily.

"Good morning, big brother…" she mumbled sleepily.

She clutched her stomach. "Daddy, Elizabeth's hungry."

"Not yet," Klaue said gently. "Your big brother will treat you soon. No eating."

"Okay…" she pouted.

"What illness are you treating me for?" she asked.

"To cure your heart condition and asthma," Alex said. "After today, you'll be able to run and play like any other child."

Her eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Of course. You'll be just like everyone else."

She beamed. "Then I want to learn to fight like you and Dad! I want to use a gun too!"

Alex smiled. "You can do whatever you want."

Elizabeth jumped up, arms in the air. "Yay! Elizabeth's so happy!"

After breakfast, Alex led her to the basement operating room.

Unbeknownst to him, little Spider-Man trailed behind and peeked through the doorway.

Alex noticed.

He also sensed something—an odd, innate connection to the tiny creature. A kind of "Spider Telepathy," he suspected—something unique to Spider-Beings.

"Alright, stop peeking. Come in and watch," Alex said.

"You can roam freely in the basement now."

Little Spider-Man darted in, crawling up the wall, curiously observing.

Elizabeth widened her eyes. "Wow, it understands you!"

"Can I be friends with it?"

"If it's willing, sure," Alex said. "It's clever—my experimental subject."

"Okay! Let's start!" Elizabeth lay down obediently.

Two hours passed.

The surgery was precise.

Alex's forehead glistened with sweat.

At last, he finished.

Elizabeth's complexion brightened immediately.

She awoke from anesthesia. "Big brother! I don't feel the palpitations anymore!"

"That's because your illness is gone," Alex said.

"What about my asthma?"

"Gone too."

Overjoyed, she hugged and kissed him. "Thank you, big brother!"

"I'm going to be strong like you and Dad!"

She turned to little Spider-Man. "Do you want to be friends with Elizabeth? Daddy makes great food!"

She held out her hand.

Startled, little Spider-Man backed away.

"Aww…" Elizabeth frowned.

Alex patted her head. "Just give it time. It's shy."

"I'll take you to your dad now—he'll be so happy."

Upstairs, Klaue's eyes lit up at the sight of his healthier daughter.

He embraced Alex tightly in thanks.

Soon, he was outside playing with her in the yard for the first time—something they'd never been able to do.

Alex smiled warmly, then returned to the basement.

"Time to finish the Web Shooters."

One by one, he assembled the parts:

Diaphragm-type pulse valve ✅

Pulse controller for timed/multi-shot use ✅

Pressure-regulated fittings ✅

Check valves ✅

One hour later…

A sleek, wrist-mounted Web Shooter was complete.

It looked like a stylish black bracelet, smooth and metallic.

Alex grinned. "Finally."

He loaded the compressed subatomic cobweb solution and strapped on the shooter.

With a flick—

Whoosh!

A strand of web launched to the ceiling, sticking instantly.

Alex tugged—swoosh—and he soared upward, hands adhering to the ceiling.

He looked down at the shooter, smiling. "Not bad. Definitely worth the effort."

He kept testing—firing web strands, nets, rope-thick cords, even auto-binding webs.

Satisfied, he turned toward little Spider-Man.

"Next stop: Osborn Corporation. We'll run some tests and get custom training gear built for me."

Little Spider-Man jumped onto him and nestled in his shirt pocket.

Throwing on his usual fisherman's hat and sunglasses, Alex set out.

Osborn Corporation.

Alex walked through the laboratory corridors.

Little Spider-Man peeked out from his pocket, curious.

Suddenly, the lab door burst open.

"Kurt?" Alex said, surprised.

Kurt shouted, "Boss! We cracked the healing formula!"

The sudden noise startled little Spider-Man.

It zapped with electricity—

ZAP!!

—and launched at Kurt like a tiny thunderbolt.

Crash! Kurt slammed into the wall.

Alex's jaw dropped.

"…Did I just invent Pikachu?"
