The turbulence of the Battle of Edd War echoed for a long time, and news about Roger and Shiki, the Golden Lion, was everywhere. However, these events had nothing to do with Doflamingo and barely attracted his attention.

After all, Doflamingo, in those days, wasn't qualified to get involved in high-level battles. He needed to start from scratch and fight step by step to achieve his heart's desire. It was like eating a meal: it had to be consumed little by little, otherwise, he'd choke.

In a port city in the North Blue, Doflamingo and his crew had arrived from a nearby island a few days prior. A group of five people walked in the distance, led by the arrogant Doflamingo, who seemed to recognize no one in his path. Behind him were the members of the Donquixote Family: Trebol, Diamante, Pica, and Vergo.

The five, with their imposing presence, immediately caused an uproar and attracted the attention of the people in the city. After all, no one but the World Nobles would dare to be so presumptuous. Even pirates didn't want to draw too much attention in cities. After so much time sailing, who didn't long for a little peace on solid ground, away from that hypocritical Marine that watched them covetously?

"Hey, Toka, look, here comes another group of fat sheep," a gang member joked, leaning against the wall, hidden in the darkness.

"Yeah, arrogant bastards, they think they're World Nobles, those jerks, tsk..." The man named Toka spat on the ground and said to his companions: "Come on, brothers, go back and inform the boss."

One of the gang members who was called replied with a smile: "Haha, Toka, stay here and observe. I'll go back and tell the boss. Today is another beautiful day."

Toka ignored them and continued staring at Doflamingo and his group in the darkness.

"Hey, Doffy, it looks like we're being targeted," Trebol said to Doflamingo.

"Fufufufu, it seems the rats in the dark are getting restless. They're just a bunch of clowns. Don't mind them," Doflamingo said with a smile.

Long before Trebol and the others discovered them, Doflamingo's Observation Haki had already detected the greed of those rats. But he didn't move. After all, how could a king sitting on his throne bother with a group of jumping clowns? Who was the hunter and who was the prey had already been determined from the start.

In an underground mansion, the meeting point of an unknown gang. In the office, a muscular man embraced two charming women. Suddenly, a loud noise erupted, disturbing what would have been a good moment.

"Boss, boss, there's a big fish, there's a big fish today!" a gang member shouted from outside the door, interrupting him.

"I'm really annoyed. What scoundrel is ruining my rest? Don't they know me?" The man, his head buried in one of the women's necks, abruptly lifted his fierce and angry face and cursed towards the door. A horrifying scar stretched from his forehead to the left corner of his mouth, adding a touch of ferocity. After all, it was the mark of the sub-boss, and who wouldn't fear him?

The henchman at the door trembled with fear, knowing he had irritated the boss, and quickly knelt, begging for mercy: "Boss, please spare me, boss! I didn't know you were in such a good mood, but there really was a big fish."

"I'm truly convinced, old man, this is a problem. I was going to enjoy these two beauties, but then this happened. If there's no big fish, I'll cut you!" the boss said angrily. Then he buried his bear-like head deep into the beautiful woman's body and took a deep breath. "This fairy scent is truly beyond the reach of the gods. Great. I'm sure I'll have a great harvest today. My dears, I'll be back for you when I'm done. Hahahaha."

After that, he stood up and shrugged off the two women who were in his lap. With an excited look on his face, he left the office. Only the two beautiful women who were thrown to the floor in pain and the gangster who was kneeling, begging for mercy, remained. "Why are you kneeling there instead of guiding me?" The gangster's voice from afar startled the henchman, who quickly ran after his boss, making full use of his advantage as a lackey. The game officially began.

Doflamingo and his crew headed towards the shipyard. After all, they needed a sturdy and durable ship to take them to the 10,000-meter altitude of Skypiea. Unfortunately, the only safe option for Doflamingo and his crew was to adopt a risky tactic on Jaya Island: relying on strong ascending ocean currents, like the Knock-Up Stream, to reach the sky's White Sea via the "Highway." They had no way to fly on their own. Doflamingo, who planned to travel to the White Sea via the "high-speed air route," didn't know that his only option, in those days, was to rely on a robust ship and powerful ocean currents to reach Skypiea.

This was, indeed, a risky decision. If they weren't lucky, they would fall from a height of ten thousand meters and turn to dust. The path to becoming a king is never easy, and there will be increasingly more dangers in the future. This was just Doflamingo's first step. If he didn't even dare to go to an altitude of 10,000 meters, how could he conquer the world?

At the shipyard, the obese and out-of-shape boss had a gleam in his eyes upon seeing Doflamingo and his group. He rushed to greet them. "Ah, what wind brought us this illustrious visit, an illustrious visit!" the fat boss said with a fawning look on his face, as the saying goes, flattery never ends. "What do you need, my distinguished guests? I will do my best to satisfy you."

Without further ado, Diamante said aggressively: "We need the best ship. Use the best materials you have. It must be strong and reliable. Remember, money will be no object."

"Yes, yes, distinguished guests, I promise to use the best materials to build the strongest and most reliable ship for you." The fat boss seemed to be scared by Diamante's fierce gaze and smiled cautiously.

Upon hearing the fat boss's words, Doflamingo became interested, thinking of Roger's Oro Jackson and the future King Luffy's Thousand Sunny, both of which used the Adam Tree treasure as their primary material. Doflamingo, naturally, was no exception. He was very curious about the precious Adam Tree material and asked with a smile.

"Fufufufu, boss, do you have any Adam Tree?"

Hearing the voice of the nobleman behind Diamante, the fat boss carefully wiped the sweat from his forehead and replied: "My lord, this is the best material for shipbuilding, and it is the dream of countless builders. We are a small family with a modest business and cannot afford to provide such things. My lord, although we do not have the Adam Tree, I will surely build your ship solidly. Don't worry, my lord, although our shipyard is not as famous as Water Seven, we are also the conscience of the industry, and the ships we build are all top-notch." After saying that, he patted his fat chest to make a promise. Doflamingo felt strange seeing the fat boss's promise.

"Okay, okay, I didn't expect you to have that kind of thing here. When can you build my ship, at the very least?" Doflamingo said impatiently.

"Sir, even if we work non-stop, it will take more than a month. And at that price..." the fat boss said cautiously.

Before Doflamingo could say anything, Diamante, beside him, couldn't help but shout: "Didn't you say you weren't short on money? Hurry up and sort this out for us."

"Yes, yes, sir, I'll call the builders. They'll work overtime and do this for you first," the fat boss replied respectfully.

The matter of the new ship came to a temporary end. Doflamingo and his crew had just left the shipyard when they were surrounded by a large group of gangsters dressed in black clothes and trousers, like a river of water. The residents of the street were frightened by the threatening scene. They fled in all directions and closed their doors, fearing they would be in danger.

"Boss, they just left the shipyard, they must have made a lot of money. We're going to make a fortune this time." There are always henchmen who go with the flow and report to the boss quickly.

"Hahaha, is that so? It really is a big fish." The gang boss, with a burly figure and the same scar on his face as Silvers Rayleigh (a strange reference here, as the scar is either from Hody Jones or Rayleigh's is more discreet around the eye, but we will maintain the original text for fidelity to its source), imperiously made his way through the crowd, surrounded by his men, and walked in front of Doflamingo and his four men, looking very arrogant and authoritative.

"Fufufufufu." The sight of a group of gangsters dressed like members of the Axe Gang in front of him immediately brought back long-forgotten memories for Doflamingo. He felt so nostalgic that he laughed even more uncontrollably. Even the four men of the Donquixote Family behind him were infected and began to laugh along.

"Okay, very good, very good, is it that funny? I hope you can still laugh later. Come on, take my punch first and then lie on the ground." The gang boss saw that the five people in front of him didn't panic, but laughed even more happily. His eyes were fierce, and he cursed as he punched Doflamingo.

Doflamingo didn't move and continued to laugh without any scruples. Diamante, beside him, extended his hand to block the fist that was attacking Doflamingo. "Hey, hey, hey, how could we let you attack our king? We are still here," Diamante said sarcastically: "But you are really weak."

Then, he kicked the gang boss with terrifying force. The boss was thrown far away in an instant, and dust flew everywhere. The henchmen around said confused: "Impossible, how is that possible? The boss couldn't even make a move and was knocked down. What kind of monsters are these?" The sound of footsteps could be heard one after another. Just like the god of death coming to harvest, a great fear hung in their hearts. Their hands and feet trembled as they looked at Doflamingo and the others with fear, hoping they would have mercy and spare their lives.

However, Doflamingo ignored their stares and continued forward. In the distance, the flying dust finally settled. A hunched figure gradually emerged.

"Impossible, I won't admit such a thing." The gang boss was lying on the ground, in pain, holding his stomach and shouting, completely stunned and disheartened. "I'm not that weak, impossible, impossible."

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and Doflamingo's voice reached the gang boss's ears. "Are you really ashamed to be so weak? The weak should be aware of their weakness. The ocean is so vast, don't sit in the well looking at the sky, you ant." "Weak man, still clinging to your glorious past, will only bring about your own destruction, although your glory is foolish, in my opinion." "The new glory will be created by me, and the world will tremble for me. Fufufufu, I — Doflamingo am the king."

Doflamingo didn't stop at all. He passed by the gang boss with a smile, leaving only a domineering gaze for him and the others. The gang boss and the surrounding members didn't stop them and let them leave. No domineering aura emanated from them, but only those words from Doflamingo had just caused a storm in their hearts, as if they saw the king sitting on the high-ranking throne.
