"A PRISONER HAS ESCAPED!"
The shout shook the prison.
16 watched as the guards panicked, he didn't know exactly what happened, but he knew who caused it.
He heard footsteps approaching from down the hall, and suddenly a man appeared in front of his cell.
"Hey you, where did he go!?"
16 shrugged.
"I-I don't know."
"Liar! We heard you guys talking!"
16 only spoke the truth he knew of, he had no recollection of 51's location, only that he pulled something, something abnormal. A door doesn't fly off its hinges like that, only a strong force could have done that.
"Search everywhere! Find The Prisoner!"
The guards backtracked, and entered the main room again, and only two of the guards stayed back to watch the cell. The guard inside exited the cell and began talking to the other guard near him, then they took off towards the opposite end of the hall.
Suddenly, a light appeared behind 16 in the back of his cell, he turned around to see what it was, and was soon blinded by a bright yellow light.
"H-huh?"
16 was baffled, there the blonde man appeared in front of him, leaning against the back wall.
"Can you trust me now?"
51 was smiling.
16 was startled by his appearance, and he lost his balance, causing him to fall backwards onto the ground.
"H-how?"
51 looked at him, then approached him, ignoring 16's curiosity.
"Are you ready to get out of here?"
16 couldn't comprehend what the man just did, and just sat there, not saying a word.
"Let's move."
He suddenly reached his hand out, and 16 grabbed it.
He pulled 16 closer to his body, and wrapped his left arm around his shoulder. He held out his right arm, then suddenly that same yellow light appeared before them.
"Skill… Refraction…"
The two suddenly appeared in the hallway, and a bright light shone throughout the hall. The guards suddenly stopped, they quickly turned around and noticed 51 and 16 together down the hall. Their eyes lit up, and quickly they began to run at the two, they approached quickly, giving them no lead at escaping.
They quickly met, and one of them began their attempt to bring them down to the ground, ending this mess.
One of the guards tucked his head down, he dove towards 51's waist, but 51, with quick feet, swiftly dodged to the left, pulling 16 with him.
The guard to his left approached fast, his fist was approaching quickly towards 51's face, he ducked down causing the guard to hit the wall, using the recovery time, he swung back striking the guard in his stomach, winding him.
The guard fell to his knees.
Suddenly, the other guard suddenly charged in from behind, but 51 was unaware. 16 turned his head, he saw the man approaching 51's back.
"B-behind!"
51 turned around, but it was too late, the guard swung at 51 hitting him directly in the face.
"..."
"Huh!? Ahh!"
The guard screamed loudly, his hand had twisted away from his wrist, causing him to scream in immense pain.
Suddenly, 51 picked up his right leg, then swung it across his body, striking the guard down his chest, rendering him motionless.
"A-are you okay?" 16 asked.
51 stood there silently.
"..."
He slowly turned his head.
A small yellow reflective surface appeared in front of his face, invisible to the eye unless contacted.
"W-what did you do?"
"Reflection."
"A-are they dead?"
"No, I don't kill."
It was against 51's morals to kill, he held the belief that no matter who someone was, there was a sliver of them that deserved to live.
"..."
51 suddenly turned around and began running towards the door he came in from.
"Follow me."
He grabbed 16's skinny wrist, and began pulling him along to the entrance of the hallway. He was fast, the door quickly came closer and closer in sight… A golden light suddenly appeared in front of them.
"...Refraction …"
"...Enlighten…"
The two phased straight through the door and suddenly landed in the main room, guards filled the room, all in search of them.
He began looking around, scouting out every corridor in the room, looking for a possible way to escape, but all of them were contested, guards were everywhere.
He recalled back to the outside of the prison, picking up his memory of the boy and the small window.
"where was that window you threw the kid's body out of?"
"I-I don't know, somewhere on the r-right."
They looked around and saw 4 hallways on the right side. 16 quickly remembered that he made contact with something before turning, when taking the boy's body out.
"I-I think it is the last one."
They silently began moving towards the end of the room, only making light steps to avoid detection.
Doing so, they quickly arrived at the last hallway, but they only saw doors, 5 on each side. Footsteps came out of another hallway, and a single guard appeared, he spotted two shadows on the ground, but no owners.
"THEY'RE OVER HERE!"
Multiple guards came rushing over, and 51 quickly grabbed 16, pulling him down the hallway. They reached a door at the end of the hall on the right, 51 opened it, revealing a dark room. He quickly dragged 16 in with him, then shut the door behind.
"W-what should we d-do?"
51 looked around, he only saw darkness.
He sighed…
"Looks like I have to resort to this,"
He grabbed 16's arm, and he lifted his arm towards the ceiling. The door suddenly swung open, and a guard poked inside, a small area of the room suddenly lit up, revealing the faces of the escapees.
"Fission."
A similar yellow light appeared from 51's hand, and began separating into small amounts. In an instant, the lights shot up into the air, colliding with the weakly supported flooring above, revealing the gradient blue sky.
51 leaped up onto a wall that was still standing, leaving the guard under the rubble of his destruction
."Ahhhhh!"
He suddenly turned back, and another small light appeared in his hand.
"Fission."
A beam of light shot at the man, breaking him free from entrapment.
Without looking back, he grabbed back onto 16, bringing them to freedom.
They started to circle the prison, looking for the body of the dead boy. They searched all around, and found his rotten body still outside of the window he was thrown out of.
"W-what are you going to d-do with him?"
"Give him another chance."
"W-what do you mean?"
51 turned his head and stared into the eyes of 16.
"Give him life."
16 looks confused.
"I-In that body?"
"No, this body is already torn up, it would only bring him hell. I'm going to send his soul elsewhere."
"W-where?"
51 smiled.
He slowly kneeled down, and grabbed the boy's dried out body with both of his hands, he stood back up, then turned around, he looked in front of him, seeing a giant forest.
"A place where we will hopefully be able to meet face to face."
"..."
The two walked into the surrounding forest searching for an open spot. They wandered for a few minutes then stopped upon a spot surrounded by trees where the sun beamed a light onto a patch of land covered in fresh grass.
The grass seemed freshly planted, it was perfect, a deserving resting spot for the boy.
"Here is a good spot, help me dig a hole."
51 suddenly kneeled down using his hand to scratch at the soft dirt below the grass.
"Y-you're going to bury him?"
"Yes."
They started digging a grave for the boy, but because they had no tools in their disposal, they had no other option but their hands.
Minutes passed, and the grave was finished, 51 grabbed the body which lay directly next to the small grave, and set it down softly on the dirt.
He stood back up, then put his hands together like he was praying and closed his eyes.
"May you prosper in your new life."
16 didn't say a word and 51 started chanting something.
"Li…"
"Ble…"
"All"
***
You're here…
Little one…
I've wanted to meet you…
The boy opened his eyes, they spread wide, before him appeared multiple pillars, leading to a large white castle in the distance surrounded by golden trees and a bright yellow sky. The place was empty but the bright color of the golden sky gave it the life that it so needed.
Suddenly a gold star descended from above, stopping right in front of him.
This meeting will be short lived…
But it will truly prove beneficial…
He looked down at his body, but there wasn't anything, he did not have a body anymore, it was like his mind became its own being, not needing a body to survive.
He glanced back up, the star's radiance was pulsing, the aura around it grew with every beat, engulfing the boy in a golden fog.
I shall grant you a new life…
One for a better chance…
The boy just stood there staring into the star's golden core, he couldn't do anything else. As he stood there, a voice emitted from the star once again…
Endure until we meet again…
For our future…
The fog suddenly turned pure white, sheathing the whole palace in a heat. The boy's vision began to fade, he slowly looked around, the place around slowly turned gray… then charcoal… then finally, black…
