Mia's hand was a good hand to hold for a while. She scanned her competitors, all male. Lauren had decided to watch tonight as the gin rushed to her head. Playing the clueless card, a game she played well, mentally forcing people to raise and bet on a crappy hand with a single flirtatious, clueless and daring smile. Soon the men started to fold, until the only player left was the man from last night. He stared at her across the table his eyes laced with curiosity and lust, she felt the heat rise up her body as he watched her fumbled around with the poker chips. Although he radiated pure evil, he was utterly gorgeous with big dark brown eyes framed by thick long dark eyelashes and a head of nearly black hair neatly groomed to the side. He had not uttered a single word. His eyes bore into Mia's as the last card was pulled out of the deck and onto the table. Once again the mystery man placed all his chips into the centre before turning to Mia for her reaction.
"All in? Guess I should do the same?" She let out a little giggle, acting clueless and clumsy as she pushed her chips into the middle to join his. She watched as he dropped his cards on the table, he had nothing. Not even a pair of twos. Her eyes lit up as he stood up and left the table. The dealer passed her a note with her winnings written on it. £30,000. "Oh my god Mia, how on earth do you do it? We only used the chips from last night!" Lauren whispered to her as they walked to the bar. "I told you, we turned that hundred dollars into five thousand last night. I just used our winnings tonight. But that guy…" Mia trailed off as she stared at the bottles behind the bar. "What about that guy which one? That southern guy was so annoying." Lauren ordered herself a virgin cocktail before finding a table while Mia decided on a drink. Her head was spinning after the vodka hit her system and after the thrill of turning five thousand dollars into thirty thousand. After ordering a bottle of water and calming her heartbeat, she soon decided she liked Vegas and there was nothing to worry about anymore.
Lauren picked a seat next to the roulette table. She stared at the ball rolling on each number finally finding a home and coming to a stop. Mia walked back to the bar and changed up her note to cash. She traded a thousand dollars into chips and walked over to the roulette table. She took her place at the side watching and waiting for the next betting turn. She looked at the last called number. "Twenty-one, red." The dealer announced. She bet a few chips on red for the next call. Mia was entranced watching the ball roll around and around slowly coming to a stop. "Thirty-Four, red." The dealer called. Handing the appropriate rewards to each player. "Bet on a single number, the rewards are higher, even if we loose a few we've got all week to play with how your doing on the poker table!" Lauren whispered in her ear her excitement radiating from her as Mia decided what to bet on next. Everyone placed their bets as Mia settled on number thirteen. Just to test the unlucky theory. The ball spun round and around, Mia was watching closely waiting for the winning number to be revealed. "You're one lucky woman aren't you doll." A thick American accent chimed from behind Mia as the ball landed on number thirteen. "I guess, I'm sure it's just some beginners luck refusing to wear off. Why, does my winning bother you?" Mia replied with a flirtatious edge. "Of course not, enjoying the game is the reason I opened this casino." He purred in her ear as his breath caught on her exposed neckline. Mia turned to face him. His eyes leaked with uncontrollable desire as he scanned her entire body, obviously pleased with the fit of the dress. He was hungry and she was the prey.
She leaned towards him slightly, closing some distance as she replied "It's always good to know the owner incase I get into any trouble here, nice to meet you I'm Mia." Her voice low and husky, inviting him to play. "Mmm, you're a fan of trouble aren't ya darlin'. Shall I be keeping my eyes on you more?" His breath steady and his tone demanding. Mia spun on her heel to place the next bet, safely settling for betting on even. Lauren was talking to a very handsome man on the other side of the table, he had bronze like skin, his muscles vividly showing through his tight suit top. His dark black hair short and clean cut. She always had a specific type. The ball rolled again as the mystery man edged closer to her, whispering in her ear "My names Axel, I run things around here so if you find yourself in any trouble you can count on me doll." He swept her hair away from her neck leaving it exposed as he gently placed a kiss on her neck. "Lemmie get you a drink, on the house." Axel left to go to the bar he returned with drinks, two beautifully presented cocktails. He passed one to Mia and sent one of his staff to pass Lauren hers. "Six, black." The dealer shouted across the table. Mia's face dropped as she looked over to Lauren. Lauren walked around the table to speak to Mia. "Hey Mia, I'm not feeling the best that last cocktails sent me over the edge, Mr Golden over there's going to walk me up to our room, you've got your key right?" Mia turned to face her, looking at her she looked tired. Thinking nothing of it she checked her bag for her room keys. "Yeah I've got them, won't be too long just a couple more before I'm bored anyway." Lauren hugged Mia tight and walked out of the casino entrance towards the hotel rooms. Mia was sipping her drink, thinking about what to bet next then all of a sudden the world started to spin, her head felt like it was going to explode and as if all of her brains signals had gotten messed up along the way. She felt her vision slowly edge into darkness. Before she hit the ground she landed softly in a man's arms. Axels arms. "I've got you darlin' don't you worry I'll take care of you." The last thing she heard was his deep evil chuckle. He won this round.
