Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Fusion in the Deadly Situation!

Touching the acidic blood of an alien creature with a mortal body is undoubtedly a foolish and reckless act.

There were people in movies who did this, but those idiots met terrible fates.

But at this moment, facing the looming crisis of death, Chu Xun had no choice but to risk it all and give it his all.

Was he a fool or a genius? The answer would soon be revealed!

**Sizzle! Sizzle!**

It turns out that touching the acidic blood of an alien is incredibly stupid. Even though this alien was summoned by Chu Xun, its acidic blood was still merciless, corroding everything it touched.

With a series of chilling sizzling sounds, Chu Xun's palm, which came in contact with the acidic blood, began to rapidly dissolve. A wave of indescribable pain spread from his palm, quickly reaching the top of his head, causing him to feel dizzy.

"Is this... failure?" Chu Xun looked at his palm, which was rapidly dissolving, with bits of bone now visible. His expression turned grim.

It wasn't just the excruciating pain—more so, it was the despair of facing imminent death!

*Beep*, *beep*.

"Warning: Alien insect gene detected. Should the host merge with this gene to enhance insect-based abilities?"

"Warning: This alien insect gene is excessively powerful. The process of absorption will be accompanied by significant pain, and uncertain side effects may occur."

However, just when Chu Xun was on the brink of despair, the cold yet familiar voice once again echoed in his mind.

"Merge the gene and enhance your abilities!" At this critical moment, Chu Xun didn't care about pain or side effects. Without hesitation, he made the decision.

*Whoosh!*

As soon as Chu Xun's words fell, a burst of blue light erupted from his right palm. At the same time, the blood flowing from his palm started to evaporate, transforming into red mist that surrounded the alien.

"Whizz!" The alien, enveloped by the blood mist, let out a series of shrill screams, as though it were enduring extreme pain.

But the alien seemed to understand that this was a matter of its master's life and death. Despite shaking from pain and constantly crying out, it still stayed by Chu Xun's side, letting the blood mist slowly erode it.

Amidst the alien's agonized shrieks, the blood mist wrapping around it gradually became more translucent, finally turning into a light, transparent color similar to the alien's blood. As the blood mist turned transparent, it seemed to gain terrifying corrosive power. Objects within the mist's range—whether dirt, stones, plants, or even the bodies of mutated dogs—began to dissolve rapidly.

Eventually, when the blood mist turned into transparent vapor, an even more brilliant blue light exploded from Chu Xun's severely damaged right palm. It seemed as though some kind of force was pulling the transparent vapor into his palm.

As the vapor vanished, the alien's form began to slowly become clearer. To his astonishment, the alien's body had shrunk by at least half. It didn't look nearly as large as it had after its previous transformation, clearly showing signs of severe injury.

But fortunately, it was only injured—it hadn't died.

However, Chu Xun was too weak to care about such details. After the transparent vapor entered his palm, waves of intense pain erupted from his palm and spread throughout his body like a tidal wave. The pain was indescribable, as though countless blades were grinding his body to pieces, while at the same time, his veins and internal organs felt as if they were being corroded by strong acid. It was unbearable.

In that instant, Chu Xun felt like a dilapidated building being violently torn down from the inside, every inch of his body being crushed. The pain was so severe it could only be described as being shattered to pieces.

As the tidal wave of pain surged, Chu Xun felt a wave of dizziness in his mind. But, impossibly, he couldn't lose consciousness. In fact, his body seemed to become even more sensitive, and he could feel the pain and torment even more acutely.

"Damn this pain! The system really is out to get me!"

In that moment, Chu Xun even regretted his decision. Had he known he would endure such suffering, he would have chosen death instead.

Once the transformation started, there was no stopping it. After what seemed like an eternity of excruciating pain, Chu Xun finally fainted.

However, unbeknownst to him, after he fainted, the alien guarding him suddenly erupted in a purple light, transforming back into a card that merged with Chu Xun's right palm.

At the same time, Chu Xun's nearly disabled right arm—whose bones could clearly be seen in several places—began to visibly heal at an incredible speed. What was even more astonishing was that as it healed, the blood he shed gradually turned from bright red to a faint red, slowly corroding the ground beneath him, leaving eerie traces.

Soon, the area fell into complete silence, with only Chu Xun's faint breathing barely audible.

By his side, the bodies of more than ten mutated dogs still emitted a strong, bloodthirsty stench, which could attract dangerous predators at any moment...

*Howl!*

And just as Chu Xun was unconscious, two massive, muscular figures slowly emerged from the dense forest and cautiously approached him.

The two newcomers were none other than the mutated dogs that had been frightened away by the alien!

Mutated dogs were cunning and bloodthirsty creatures. Although they had been driven off by the alien, their insatiable hunger for fresh meat made them unwilling to leave. So, they decided to linger and observe. If things didn't work out, they would leave the damned place.

Their patience was quickly rewarded. The alien had disappeared, and Chu Xun was now unconscious, with no strength to resist. This was a golden opportunity for them.

Thinking about the succulent, tender taste of fresh human flesh, the two mutated dogs salivated uncontrollably. But they were still cautious, so they didn't immediately pounce on Chu Xun. Instead, they let out a few low growls and began circling him.

Only after confirming that Chu Xun was truly unconscious and the terrifying alien had disappeared, did the mutated dogs finally relax and open their jaws wide, leaping toward Chu Xun.

Chu Xun remained completely motionless in his unconscious state, seemingly unaware that the shadow of death had already descended upon him...

"Fire! Flamesnake's Bite!"

At that crucial moment, Lady Luck smiled upon Chu Xun once again. With a delicate and youthful cry, a blazing flame shot out, turning into two menacing fire serpents mid-air, which then engulfed the two mutated dogs.

The fire serpents, made of pure flame, had terrifyingly high temperatures. Almost the moment they engulfed the mutated dogs, the two creatures started to burn violently, and in less than a second, they were completely reduced to ashes, leaving only a pile of black dust on the ground.

In the blink of an eye, the two mutated dogs were slain, their bodies turned to ashes. If anyone had witnessed this scene, they would have been stunned—unable to believe what they had seen.

While the mutated dogs weren't the strongest, their skulls were tough enough that even small-caliber firearms couldn't penetrate them. Yet, under the flames' searing heat, their skulls disintegrated in less than a second, reduced to ash. The temperature of the fire was unimaginable.

However, the most astonishing thing wasn't the fire but the one who had killed the mutated dogs. She was so young—no, to be more precise, she was still a child.

She was an exquisitely delicate girl, with fiery red hair that swayed slightly in the breeze, almost resembling a burning flame, drawing all attention to her.

She wore a finely crafted princess gown—something almost nobody would wear in these times, especially in a combat situation. But on her, this ancient gown exuded an unexpected and incredible charm.

What stood out even more were her impossibly fair skin and the bright, innocent light in her eyes, making her seem like she had walked straight out of a fairytale—beautiful, pure, and untouched by the cruelty of the world.

Yet, don't forget—just moments ago, it was this cute girl, no older than fifteen, who had effortlessly turned two mutated dogs into ashes, leaving no trace of them behind.

Her strength was truly terrifying!
