High chaos ran through North Shore High School—footballs flew across the hallway, bumping into the heads of a few while some couples kissed, standing in front of their lockers while others half-chatted, half-cursed their teachers over their tests and grades. And amidst all of the chaos resembling the jungles of the savannah, Cady Heron walked to her class, her lips curling into a bright smile and her eyes shining with excitement.
Soon, the ginger found her class. Entering the room in high spirits, she spotted a tall girl standing in front of the teacher's desk. 'Alright, let's make some friends,' she mumbled to herself and walked to the girl. "Hi!" she greeted, her voice a little high with excitement. "I don't know if anyone told you about me, but I'm a new student here; my name is Cady Heron!"
But the tall girl looked at Cady, her narrowed eyes boring into Cady, "Talk to me again, and I will kick your ass!"
Cady froze, her bright smile turning awkward while the tall girl loomed over her for a moment before she walked away, and soon after,
CHUCKLE
Chuckles broke behind her back, followed by a snicker. Cady turned around, still a little shocked by what had happened, only to see an emo girl and a large, short-haired man laughing at her. The emo girl was wearing an oversized brown shirt over a black t-shirt, while the guy wore a checkered shirt over a blue t-shirt.
But Cady shook her head inwardly, 'stay positive, Cady.' She motivated herself and walked toward the front seat, "Uh uh, trust me, you don't wanna sit there," the Emo girl churned, her lips sliding into an amused smirk, "Kristen Hadley's boyfriend is gonna sit there!" And before Cady could wonder who Kristen Hadley is, a scrawny ginger walked into the room, wearing a thick, full-sleeved t-shirt, and sat on the chair, but before he could settle in, the tall girl, sitting beside her, pulled him into a fervent kiss, as if about to suck the poor guy's soul.
"Wha—" Cady exhaled softly, a little overwhelmed by the things she saw in high school. She then walked toward the empty seat in the row beside the emo girl, but then again, the emo girl clicked her tongue, along with the guy beside her, "Nuh uh, you really shouldn't sit there," then pointing toward the fat guy in front of the empty seat, she whispered, "He farts a lot!"
"Huh…?" Cady mumbled, frowning slightly as she turned to the fat kid sitting in front, who turned to her and looked at her innocently.
Cady's breath hitched, tilting her head, panicking a little as she took a step back; she glanced around the room, searching for empty seats as she walked backwards, and before she could take a few steps, a firm hand grabbed her by the shoulders, frightening her and causing her to jerk around only to see the most handsome man in existence.
"Hello there," he said, his lips curling into a small smile, "You might look where you're going," he added, turning back to a woman who entered the class juggling a coffee cup and a box of donuts in her hands.
The woman looked back at them, "What? What happened? Did I get something on my shirt?!" She blurted, looking down at her dress for any marks, but the guy chuckled her off, "Ah, it's nothing, miss. Also, let me help you; it looks like the donuts are about to fall off the cliff!"
"Oh!" the woman exclaimed, quickly tightening her grip around the coffee and donuts. "I swear, I'm bad luck!" But the guy only shook his head at her with a smile, grabbing the box of donuts and placing it on the desk before glancing back at Cady, who was staring blankly at him.
The pair looked at each other, the guy's smirk widening by the moment while the woman placed her cup on the table, adjusting her dress when a sudden intrusion broke the silence in the class, "What's going on here?" Mr. Duval, the principal of the school, walked in, his gaze immediately shifting towards the woman, "Ms. Nosburne, is everything all right?"
"Yeah, just a future crisis averted!" the woman chirped, turning towards the principal who took every chance to hit on her.
"How was your summer?" the man asked, stepping a little closer.
"I got divorced!"
"Oh… well, if you need anything or if you want to talk to somebody…"
"Thanks!" Ms. Nosburne replied with an awkward chuckle, "But maybe not when we are in front of students?"
"Of course!" the principal replied, backing off a little as he turned to the whole class, "Well, I'm here to inform you that we have got two new students this year," he then took a little note out of his pocket. "Cady Heron and Alex Woods."
Cady then immediately turned towards Alex while the principal rambled in the background, 'So, he's Alex!' She mumbled inside, her eyes shining, 'I hope we can sit together!'
