Chapter 9 - Awakening of the God and Demon

The cavern trembled with residual heat. The ashes of the Demon Emperor's soul had barely settled when Lin Feng sat cross-legged atop the smoldering stone. His guardian stood silently beside him—motionless, expressionless, nothing more than a lifeless puppet awaiting command.

Lin Feng took a deep breath, eyes closed. In one hand, he held a golden-red vial—the essence of a powerful human cultivator. In the other, blazing crimson coiled inside the jade fragment—the Demonic Heart Flame, now subdued and bound to his will.

"Let's begin," Lin muttered.

The first drop of human blood essence entered his mouth. It burned like a star, lighting his meridians. His body convulsed as golden veins surged across his skin.

Then came the demon essence. Black fire crawled through his core, whispering madness.

Their fusion erupted inside him like twin dragons warring in a sea of chaos.

A scream tore from his throat—not of pain, but of transformation.

Outside the cave, the earth cracked. The sky above Beast Mountain darkened. Thunder gathered. Lightning swirled into a vortex, spiraling downward. The heavens had taken notice.

From the storm clouds descended phantom illusions: a colossal figure with golden skin, black veins coiled like divine chains across its chest and arms. Eyes pitch black, glowing with divine fury. Its very breath shook the clouds.

"God and Demon Divine Body…"

The words echoed from an ancient will within the land.

Lin Feng's body shimmered. His skin became golden like polished metal. Veins as black as obsidian pulsed with power. His eyes opened—pure darkness within, yet glowing with burning clarity.

He had awakened a bloodline born of myth.

A species that should not exist.

The God and Demon Divine Body—formed by the union of forbidden bloodlines during an ancient war between Celestials and Abyssals. Its wielders were known to shatter planes, crush armies, and dominate both divine and demonic realms.

As the blood essences merged into his core, Lin's cultivation surged. The turbulent flow within his dantian broke the final barrier.

Power poured into him like an endless tide.

[Ding! You have awakened the God and Demon Divine Body.]

[Physique Grade: Supreme]

[You have broken through: Spirit Refining Peak → Soul Foundation Early Stage.]

[You have gained new racial skills:] – God and Demon Fist: A technique that calls upon primal divine-demonic power to shatter realms. – God and Demon Transform: Temporarily enlarges your body fold, boosting strength, speed, and regeneration exponentially.

Lin rose to his feet slowly. The ground fractured beneath each step. Even his aura now warped the air. He clenched his fist. The world screamed in resistance.

With the newly acquired God and Demon Fist, he felt he could reduce a mountain range to rubble with a single blow. It wasn't just power—it was the wrath of creation and destruction merging.

With God and Demon Transform, his body could expand two or three times his original size. Golden flesh, black veins, and pitch-dark eyes turned him into a living war god. Even in his base form, the might of both divine and demonic blood flowed freely within him.

The flame stirred next.

He raised his hand and drew the Demonic Heart Flame from the jade. It floated like a crimson serpent, pulsing with a consciousness of its own. The flame roared once—then submitted.

It coiled into his chest, embedding itself into his heart.

A red, semi-transparent seed ignited there—its warmth ever-present, its hunger vast.

[Heavenly Flame: Demonic Heart Flame – Successfully Refined]

[Flame Seed Established in Core Heart Chamber]

The cavern dimmed.

Silence returned.

[Ding! Your physique evolution has unlocked the System Shop.]

A shimmering blue screen opened before him, filled with cryptic items, bloodlines, techniques, and rare artifacts—each priced in destiny points.

Lin Feng's lips curved slightly.

Everything was proceeding faster than any protagonist's journey he had ever read about. And it was beautiful.

---

Outside the mountain, sect members collapsed in the grass, coughing smoke and blood.

Wang Kuang had passed out. Most sect elders were dead. Only a few inner disciples and lesser cultivators had survived the Demon Emperor's wrath.

Chu Xiao staggered out of the entrance, his eyes dazed.

"It was all a trap…" he muttered. "This... This wasn't how it was supposed to go."

A few cultivators from Sky Flare Pavilion and the Bronze Ape Sect turned to glare at him.

"You brought that thing down on us!"

"You and your master disturbed the Demon Emperor!"

"If not for Lin Feng, we'd all be dead!"

They stepped forward menacingly.

Chu Xiao's face paled. His master gone. His luck shattered. His destiny faltering.

"No... this can't be..."

He reached into his robe and activated a golden talisman.

"Thousand-Mile Escape!"

A flash of light tore the air and launched him across the horizon like a shooting star.

He vanished, leaving behind stunned cultivators.

Silence followed.

One of the Shadow Moon disciples said grimly, "He won't get far. He's injured. We'll find him."

Another glanced toward the mountain. "But that Lin Feng… who is he?"

They all had seen it. The sky shaking. The illusion of a golden-black titan. The control of the Heavenly Flame. The casual rescue. That was no ordinary genius.

"That boy..." one whispered, "is something we cannot afford to provoke."

Everyone nodded.

They feared Lin Feng now—not out of hatred, but survival instinct.

---

Back inside the cave, Lin Feng exhaled.

His robes fluttered in the heat, but his expression remained tranquil.

"Chu Xiao has escaped," he murmured. "But fate is already bleeding from him."

[Ding! Chu Xiao's Destiny has been injured further. He has lost 10% of his remaining Destiny Value.]

[+200 Destiny Points awarded.]

The system prompt filled his vision, and Lin's heart stirred. He had claimed over 600 destiny points in a single day. A laugh escaped his lips—not cruel, but resolute.

"This is the price of being the protagonist of someone else's story," Lin said. "You either rewrite the script... or burn it."

"How much more time i have to waste on this Chu xiao?"

[Don't worry, there wasn't much time left. You only have to snatch fifty percent of Destiny value of any protagonist before finishing him.]

"Half of Destiny value... Chu xiao has already lost much. Just some little more... And you can kill him...]

He turned to his guardian, whose eyes held no life, no will.

"Find Chu Xiao," he commanded. "Track him. Report his movements."

The puppet nodded silently and shot into the sky, vanishing in a gust of wind.

Lin Feng looked at his hand, still glowing faintly with flame.

He was no longer a passive observer in this world. No longer just a transmigrator manipulating fate from the shadows.

He was becoming a force of his own.

And the heavens… had started to tremble.
