Chapter 10 - Episode 9 The Prophecy Of Ashes

THE DEVIL'S BRIDE

Episode 9: The Prophecy of Ashes

By Rapwizzy Debaron

Evelyn awoke in Lucien's arms.

She was weak.

But not broken.

The flames had chosen her — and that power now pulsed inside her veins like thunder.

Lucien watched her, silently.

Not with possession.

With fear.

She had passed the trial.

Claimed the bond.

And yet… the prophecy had been triggered.

He could feel it.

In the tremble of the realm.

In the way shadows whispered secrets they'd never dared speak.

---

Far beneath the palace, in a sealed chamber untouched for a thousand years, the Oracle opened her blind eyes.

A circle of seers knelt before her.

"It has begun," she rasped.

"The Devil's Bride has awakened the Ash Flame."

One seer stepped forward. "Then the prophecy is real?"

The Oracle nodded slowly. "The girl shall rise. The devil shall fall. And the world will burn… unless love breaks what fire cannot."

---

Lucien knew he had to tell her.

But how do you tell someone they were born to end you?

Instead, he walked with her through the palace gardens. The night was quiet, the stars heavy.

Evelyn stopped at the fountain. "You're hiding something."

Lucien didn't deny it.

She looked at him. "What happens now?"

He looked away. "Something I never wanted to face."

Then he reached into his cloak and pulled out an ancient scroll. Bound in dragonbone. Sealed with his own blood.

He handed it to her.

Evelyn opened it slowly.

And her breath stopped.

A painting.

Her face.

Her fire.

Her holding the Devil's heart—as it turned to ash in her hand.

She stepped back. "Is this… me?"

Lucien's voice was low. "The prophecy said a girl would come. One with mortal blood, but a heart of flame. She would love the Devil… and if she chose him fully, she would destroy him."

Tears welled in her eyes. "Then why bring me here? Why let me feel anything?"

"Because I'd rather die loved than live untouched."

Silence.

Then Evelyn folded the scroll and handed it back.

"Then let's rewrite the prophecy."

Lucien stared.

Evelyn stepped closer. "If love can destroy… maybe it can also save."

---

In the shadows, Seraphina stood on a cliff of bone, her hand resting on a blade made from her own curse.

She smiled.

"So they believe they can cheat fate…"

She raised the sword.

"Let's see how long their love lasts."

---

To be continued…

The prophecy is clear.

The bond is dangerous.

And Seraphina is done watching.
