Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Power of the Seven Emperors!

Li You continued watching the video.

"Aside from standard [No.] cards, there are evolved versions known as 'CNo.,' or Chaos Numbers. These advanced forms unlock even more devastating power.

"Many duelists have obtained [No.] cards—but only the strongest can awaken their hidden potential and summon a Chaos Number. Owning a CNo. has become a mark of status in the Xyz Alliance.

"Among the [No.] monsters, the rarest of all are seven cards with numbers over 100.

"From No.101 to No.107—just seven in total—they're known collectively as the Over-Hundred Numbers.

"These monsters can be summoned directly from the Extra Deck using their exclusive spell: Rank-Up Magic – The Seventh One. Anyone who brings out an Over-Hundred Number essentially locks in the win!

"Three thousand years ago, during a near-apocalyptic crisis, seven duelists—each wielding one of these seven Over-Hundred Numbers—rose up together to protect the Xyz Alliance from destruction. They were hailed as heroes and remembered through history as... The Seven Emperors.

"Since then, the Over-Hundred Numbers have carried sacred weight. Their gathering always signals an era-defining upheaval.

"The last time all seven reappeared was three centuries ago.

"While some fear the chaos their return might bring, many duelists dream of witnessing it in their lifetime.

"And now, one more Over-Hundred Number has appeared—this time in the hands of the Saint Star Duel Academy's top new student: Li You, who summoned the legendary No.107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!"

The video paused to emphasize the gravity of this development.

"With No.107 accounted for, three of the seven Over-Hundred Numbers have now surfaced.

"Will this generation be the one to witness their full reunion?

"We wait with bated breath!"

Underneath, the comment section was ablaze with chatter.

Li You skimmed through it, lips twitching into a smile.

The top-voted comment read:

"GUAAAHHHH!! If I could witness the Seven Emperors gathered in one duel—I could die happy!!!"

Li You chuckled.

So this is the world I'm living in... These duelists have had it so good for so long, they don't even mind if the reunion of the Seven Emperors plunges everything into chaos—as long as it's entertaining.

He scrolled down and found a more intriguing detail.

Apart from himself, the other two confirmed holders of Over-Hundred Numbers... were also this year's freshmen at Saint Star Duel Academy!

Each of them was already well-known in Duel Link. Prodigies since childhood, they had been scouted early and granted special admission into the academy without needing to take the entrance exam.

Li You narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

Interesting. What are the odds that three Over-Hundred Numbers would all land in the hands of the same class of freshmen?

Is this a coincidence... or fate in motion?

Either way, he was certain of one thing—

This year's academy life... is going to be fun.

As he finished the video, all seven of them received a new notification on their Duel Disks.

[Academy Transport Notice]The new-student charter flight is ready for boarding. Please proceed to the designated Academy Terminal at the private airport.

When the Five Alliances founded the academy, they spared no expense. They carved out an entire city-sized sanctuary, turning it into the most prestigious campus in the Sacred Star Realm.

It had everything.

World-class training facilities. Dormitories at five-star hotel standards. Fresh gourmet ingredients flown in daily. Even the cafeteria meals were crafted by top-tier chefs.

Some students, after graduating, would say that stepping into the outside world felt like a downgrade.

The best alumni often received offers to return as instructors—keeping the school staffed with the finest duelists on the planet.

Li You and the others traveled together toward the academy airport.

Along the way, the people they passed looked at them with open envy. Being accepted into Saint Star Duel Academy meant more than just status—it meant transcendence. It was the leap from carp to dragon.

Some passersby even recognized Li You from the viral videos and waved at him excitedly.

For someone who'd lived most of his life in anonymity, the sudden spotlight was a little jarring.

So this is what it feels like to be famous?Li You stroked his chin. No wonder celebrities get so full of themselves... it's almost intoxicating.

But as he entered the airport proper, the attention began to fade.

Sure, he was a prodigy. The top-ranked freshman. A bearer of an Over-Hundred Number.

But this was Saint Star Duel Academy.

Every student here was a genius.

Some looked at him with curiosity. Others with respect.

But most looked at him with burning challenge in their eyes.

And that—was exactly the kind of culture the academy encouraged.

Endless rivalry. Relentless ambition. To rise, you had to climb over the strongest!

The intensity of the atmosphere sent a thrill through Li You's veins.

Even before setting foot in the classroom, he could already feel his blood boiling with excitement.

The newly admitted first-years, along with returning upperclassmen, gradually filled the airport lounge. Soon, the charter flight lifted off, ferrying them toward the legendary school in the sky.

For many, it was the beginning of the most important chapter in their lives.

Li You found an empty seat and sat down casually—only for another student to approach him moments later.

He exchanged a few polite words with the boy, but then another figure appeared—

A towering young man. Well over six feet. Dark-skinned, shaved head, and wearing a broad, goofy smile.

The moment Li You saw him, he froze.

His jaw dropped.

It was like looking at a ghost from his past.

"...Lao... Lao-da?!"

The tall student looked puzzled, but grinned and stuck out his hand.

"Hey there! You must be Li You, right? I'm a new student too. Name's Bryant. Nice to meet you!"

"IT REALLY IS YOU?!"Li You broke into a cold sweat and glanced out the window.

The plane was already in the air.

For one fleeting moment, he considered grabbing a parachute and jumping.

But then he remembered... he didn't know how to use a parachute.

So he clenched his fists, sat back down, and silently prayed that this wasn't the start of some hellish inside joke.

Thankfully—

Later that evening, the plane touched down safely on campus grounds.

The new students of Saint Star Duel Academy had officially arrived.

A new school year... was about to begin.
