Katie stood by the lake again, the moon high above. A strange pull dragged her deeper into the trees.
And then she saw him.
Lucian.
Tall, terrifying, beautiful. Moonlight shimmered in his silver eyes. His smile was a dagger wrapped in silk.
"Katherine," he said like a prayer. "You've grown."
"How do you know me?"
He stepped closer, not touching her but making her feel it anyway. "Because I was made for you. You freed me. You are my light, my ruin, my everything."
Katie's breath hitched. Her heart pounded—once for Liam. Once for Lucian.
He reached out, fingers brushing her cheek, and she gasped. The bond burned white-hot between them.
His other hand tangled in her hair, gently tugging her head back. His mouth hovered over hers, fangs glinting.
"Do you feel it? The hunger? The ache? We are soul-bound, not by fate... but by fire."
And then—he kissed her.
It wasn't soft.
It was consuming.
Fangs grazed her lip. Her body arched into his, sparks tearing down her spine.
Rachel howled in her head.
And the power in her chest exploded.
She screamed.
Her eyes turned silver.
Far away, Liam roared.
And when he found her in Lucian's arms, blood singing with fury, he didn't ask questions.
He pinned her against a tree, claiming her mouth with his own in a storm of heat and possessive growls.
Her knees nearly gave out.
Two mates.
Two kings.
And a girl who was about to bring the world to its knees.
