Chapter 2 - The Room

The wave of light passed as soon as it came and I was left in a bottomless empty void. And soon I felt something, I was standing on something hard, but I still wasn't able to see anything. Soon a room came into my vision, although there was no way to verify but I felt that this was the room I was standing in. I tried moving but was not able to. On the edge of my vision I saw something approaching me, it was a room similar to the first one but slightly furnished, the room stopped at the same distance from my metapsychical vision as the first room had. I felt more rooms approaching from all directions and soon I was surrounded by these rooms all ever so slightly different from one another. I heard a woman's cry and the rooms started spinning all around me forming a kind of blurry cage made up of these spaces, speeding up the rooms started forming a kind of stop-motion film, similar to the ones I used to watch when I was younger, before animation became computerized. As the rooms blended in with each other quickly erratic changes in the "room's" features were replaced with a slow transition into a realistic image. Dark blobs started forming complex features and quickly the small room was occupied by three figures. The first one was a woman giving birth, while the second one was a man assisting in the process, probably the doctor. Near the wall of the room there was a man with a worried expression on his face - the father. As the image finished "evolving" I started feeling something, it was a powerful pressure pushing me from everywhere at once, I could feel pain too, I heard sounds and tasted many things, as the pressure got stronger I felt all my memories come crashing into my mind every second like ocean waves hitting the cliffs. Then the pressure stopped and my eyes fluttered open with a wave of bright light. The first this I heard this time was :

It's a boy! - A woman cried out

Congratulations madam, I'll be taking my leave than. - Was the man's response.

As my eyes adjusted to the light the familiar scene unfolded before my eyes, the only thing that changed was that the doctor was leaving while the man I saw propped up against the wall was standing a little closer to me. To me? I quickly realized that this time I was inside the room, but wait where was the pregnant woman? My question was quickly answered as I looked up, because staring down at me was the beautiful blonde woman I saw moments earlier in my vision, and she was holding me in her arms. As I looked down half-heartedly expecting to find my old sickly body i this woman's arms, I saw the body of a newborn child. I didn't know which scenario would've been weirded if proposed to a third party. Being a grown man being cradled in a woman's arms, or being a grown man in a babies body in the same scenario, after a quick consideration I decided that the first one would be much more realistic. My first thought about my situation was that right now I was reliving my memories, but that was disproven with a quick glance at my new "parents", the woman was blond while the man had gray eyes, both of which were traits that my real parents hadn't possesed. Concerned for my sanity I decided to rule out the "It's all a simulation/hallucination" choice. The most feasible option was - I was taken back in time, but I still wasn't sure I needed to confirm it somehow.

Wouldn't you mind staying for a cup of coffee sir? - I overheard Father talking to the doctor ,who was packing his things.

I'm afraid I have to refuse, the second sun is about to rise again. - The doctor answered, finished packing and got up to leave.

Well than, take care sir and madam Octavius. - The man added before turning around and leaving.

I mentally shut out my new parent's goodbyes and focused on one crucial piece of information, the second sun. "this can't be possible" I kept telling myself over and over again, but no matter how much I tried I couldn't get rid of this feeling, that maybe I was in another world...
