Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Legends Begin

The world shattered in an instant.

Haruki Saito was caught completely off guard. The screech of tires, the roaring engine — all happened too fast. His body was slammed violently against cold metal. Then, everything around him spiraled into darkness.

Pain faded, replaced by emptiness.

No light. No sound. No gravity.

Haruki floated in an endless void, as if he had been uprooted from reality itself. Time ceased to exist here.

For what felt like an eternity, he remained motionless, drifting through the black nothingness. His senses were dull — no warmth, no pressure, no heartbeat.

Suddenly, a soft, mechanical voice pierced the silence.

"Loading… Reincarnation process initiated."

The voice spoke inside his mind, calm and unyielding, as if it came from nowhere and everywhere at once.

Haruki tried to speak, but his lips barely moved. His voice was faint, a thin whisper lost in the void.

"Loading… 7%… 23%… 56%… 82%… 100%."

A gentle glow began to form, illuminating the endless darkness with soft, shifting colors.

Slowly, before him, a translucent screen appeared, covered in flowing symbols and text — a system interface of some kind.

Name registered: Haruki Saito.

He attempted to say the words aloud, voice still weak but growing stronger.

"Haruki… Saito."

No reply came, only the gentle hum of the system.

Then, new information appeared on the screen.

Skill unlocked: Contractor.

Description: Grants the ability to summon and form contracts with monsters.

Haruki blinked, trying to process what this meant.

The void began to fade as a soft, warm light replaced the darkness. Slowly, the sensation of a body returned to him — the pulse of blood in his veins, the faint beat of a heart.

His muscles twitched, his lungs filled with air he could almost feel but not quite sense.

He opened his eyes.

The world was still unclear, but faint shapes shimmered in the distance. Colors that had no name danced softly at the edges of his vision.

The system remained silent, waiting for his next move.

Haruki's voice, though still fragile, came a little stronger now.

"Where… am I?"

No answer.

A strange calm filled him, replacing confusion with curiosity.

He had no memory of what had happened after the accident — only flashes of light, sound, and then... nothing.

But now, he was here. Somewhere new.

The system interface hovered before him, ready.

Haruki's mind raced with questions — What was this place? What was his purpose?

Yet deep inside, a small spark of determination began to burn.

He was alive.

He had power.

And the journey — whatever it might be — was beginning now.

Haruki's eyes fluttered open slowly. The world around him was dim and cool.

He was lying on rough, uneven ground — cold stone pressed against his back.

A faint drip of water echoed through the silence.

He sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. The faint light came from glowing moss clinging to the cave walls, casting a soft green glow that barely illuminated the narrow space.

The air was cool and damp, carrying the faint scent of earth and minerals.

Haruki took a deep breath. The cave felt strange, but oddly peaceful.

Just then, a gentle voice echoed in his mind.

"Current location: The Hollow Cave."

Haruki blinked in surprise.

"A natural cave system, deep underground. Few dare to enter."

He looked around carefully. The walls curved like a tunnel, stretching into darkness on both sides.

A soft breeze stirred the moss, carrying with it a chill that ran down Haruki's spine.

He murmured quietly, "This place isn't so bad..."

Almost immediately, the system responded.

"Warning: The Hollow Cave is home to many dangerous creatures. Proceed with caution."

Haruki's fingers clenched into fists.

"Dangerous or not… I have to keep moving."

With one last glance at the faint glow behind him, Haruki stood up and stepped forward, deeper into the cave's shadowy depths.

Hours passed.

The deeper Haruki ventured into the winding cave tunnels, the more his body began to ache. The cold stone walls seemed endless, twisting left and right like a maze with no exit. The only light came from scattered patches of glowing moss, flickering faintly like dying stars.

His stomach growled softly. He ignored it.

He had no food. No water. No weapon.

Just a strange new body… and the system that had been guiding him since he woke up.

But then—

Another pulse in his mind.

WARNING.

Not as intense as before… but enough to make his breath hitch. The glowing red letters returned, slightly dimmer than the first time.

The system's voice echoed smoothly:

"Detected threat: Lesser Cave Beast. Threat Level: Low."

Haruki's eyes narrowed. In the near distance, he could hear it—a soft scraping, like claws dragging along stone. A low growl, not as deep as before, but close.

"Assessment: Host remains in a weakened state. Combat inadvisable with current physical condition."

He clenched his jaw. Just how weak was he?

Before the thought could form, the system spoke again—this time, with a strange note of anticipation.

"Contractor Skill detected."

A soft light pulsed gently inside his chest, warm and strange, like something stirring for the first time.

"You are eligible to form a summoning contract."

Haruki blinked.

The system's voice became direct.

"Do you wish to summon your first Contracted Beast?"

The question rang out in his mind, clear as day.

Silence stretched.

The growls ahead grew louder — slow and searching, like something hungry sniffing the air.

Haruki took a breath and looked forward, fists clenched, his heart beginning to pound harder. This was it.

A choice that could change everything.

---

Haruki took a slow breath. His fists trembled slightly—not from fear, but from something deeper. Excitement. Instinct.

"...Yes," he muttered, his voice low but firm.

The moment the word left his lips, the air around him shifted.

The ground beneath his feet pulsed once, gently—like a heartbeat.

Then—

⚡ Initiating Contractor Skill: Soulbind Catalyst...

A radiant circle of intricate light erupted beneath him, glowing with ethereal blue and silver patterns that spiraled like ancient runes. Strange glyphs spun around him, orbiting slowly as if reading his soul.

The cave darkened around him, all light sucked toward the center of the summoning circle.

The temperature dropped and then instantly rose — warmth rushing into the chamber like sunlight breaking into a storm.

Then it began.

Tiny orbs of light—six of them—descended from the ceiling like stardust, glowing softly with different hues: blue, pink, green, gold, lavender, and white. They hovered before Haruki like curious fireflies.

And then… they changed.

The orbs pulsed… and morphed.

Each transformed into a floating blob — gelatinous, semi-transparent, and absolutely adorable. They jiggled and blinked with wide, expressive eyes, bobbing in the air like they were full of joy and curiosity.

A soft hum filled the cave, like the laughter of children echoing through water.

The system's voice spoke again — this time almost reverent.

The Floofi Six

Rank: Legendary

Type: Fragmented Entity

Status: Parts of a Singular Being (One Soul, Six Forms)

---

💫 Origin:

Long ago, there was a Legendary Supreme Being known only as Floonara, a soft-hearted primordial entity born from the very first wish ever whispered into the world — a child's wish for warmth, laughter, and safety.

Floonara grew into something divine. A being of emotion, of joy and comfort. But her magic, powered by feelings, became too vast. Her tiny body couldn't hold it all.

Rather than risk unraveling reality with her magic overflow, she made a choice.

She split herself.

Into six floating slimes, each representing a piece of her vast soul.

Each one now contains a fragment of Floonara's heart — her love, her cheer, her curiosity, her courage, her playfulness… and her sorrow.

Though they appear as playful creatures, their true power is ancient, primal — capable of healing cracked lands, laughing away fear, or protecting their master from darkness itself.

They are not six.

They are still Floonara.

But fractured.

They wander, seeking not just a master — but a heart strong enough to help them feel whole again.

---

Haruki gazed in awe as the six slimes floated around him, gently orbiting his body, trailing soft sparkles like tiny comets. One bumped playfully into his cheek, letting out a tiny "poyo~" sound.

A small smile tugged at Haruki's lips.

He didn't fully understand what they were yet — but something inside him stirred.

They felt… warm.

The system spoke once more:

"The Floofi Six have accepted your bond. Soul-link established."

"Contract Level: 1. Summoning Successful."

---

Haruki stood in the glowing circle, six floating companions now at his side.

For the first time since waking in this strange world, he didn't feel alone.
