Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Cell

"Where am I?"

I look around, stone walls perfectly smooth, same with the ground, the stone is of a dark hue. Lying on my side on the ground, rolling onto my stomach, and then pulling myself up. Looking at the ceiling, there is a lantern hanging with a metal cage around it. All of the walls are plain and so smooth, I go to raise my right arm, and nothing happens. Turning to my side, and there is a metal object around where my arm would come out of my side.

"What is this?"

"Medical treatment"

This raspy voice sounded a bit tired and mad.

"Sorry if I upset y-"

"What's your name?"

I don't know. What should I say?

"Adren. Adren Tarford"

"Adren Tarford? We don't have anyone on file with your name."

Adren Tarford - "I am sorry. What's going on?"

"Beep-"

Adren Tarford - "Hello. . . Hello?"

Just like that, the voice is gone. I take a few steps around the box I am in, then rest against the wall. I further inspect my body. I have these burns across my chest, arm, and legs. I have a hole through my forearm. Only one eye, and my vision is slightly blurry.

What happened to me? Why am I put here? My name is Adren Tarford. Was I in a fight? Why does it feel like my body is made of old wood?

I don't have any info. I suppose I will wait until the voice is back

I walked up to the back wall where I awoke and sat there with my back against the wall, and as soon as I sat down.

"Tssssss"

This white gas started flowing out of the floor where the walls connect with the ground/

Adren Tarford - "Hello, what's happening!? I am sorry if I upset you, please don't!"

"Don't worry, you will wake up. This is just."

Whispers of Arogona

Chapter 1: Part 2: You have some questions?

"H-hello. Sir, Mr Adren Tarford H-how are you feeling?"

There was this shaky girl's voice, soft like a cat.

Adren Tarford - "Uhm- hi."

I opened my eyes, and in front of me was this small girl with dark red hair, big round glasses, and goggles on her head. She had oversized gloves on and was holding a clipboard. She had an indigo suit on, with a gun holstered at her chest, by her shoulder.

Adren Tarford - "Uhm. . . sorry, what did you say?"

"o -ok u-uhm. I-I said how you are feeling. M-Mr Adren"

Adren Tarford - "I feel fine. . ."

". . ."

Adren Tarford - ". . ."

". . ."

"YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO ASK "HOW ABOUT YOU!""

She stood up and yelled in this squeaky voice.

"I-I am so sorry."

"bang"

She bowed and slammed her head against the table.

"ow ow Owyyy"

"Are you ok!?"

"Clink"

I tried to stand, and I couldn't stand fully upright. There was a chain around my neck, and it was attached to the floor. When I stood up the chain when tough. I slowly sat back down.

"Y-ya I am ok. T-Thank you for asking."

When she was saying that she was rubbing her head

"B-back to what I am doing here. You have some questions, and so do I. That got me thinking: how about we work together and so we don't have lingering questions."

Adren Tarford - "Ok. That makes sense."

"T-thank you"

"I will start first. Where did you come from? And why did we find you so injured?"

Adren Tarford - "Good question. I don't remember what happened to me at all. The most I remember right now is in the cube room talking to a voice and now this."

"Ok. This still leaves me with questions. . ."

Adren Tarford - "My turn?"

"Oh y-yes of course, as to our agreement, you can ask me a question."

Adren Tarford - "Where am I?"

"Good question, I would ask that too. We are in the Tin district, face 2, in the Amrist testing facility."

Adren Tarford - "What does that mean?"

"Well, u-um, we just found you a week ago and we dont know what you are. You look human but your body acts as a magical wonderer. Your magic is off the charts. I wonder if you came from the explosion of the sisters or if you came from the rift. Nono, if you came from the rift, you would be too violent to talk to, well, that being said."

Adren Tarford - "Sorry to interrupt you, but I don't get all of the information you're saying. Sisters? Magia? Wonderers? I look human?"

"Oh y-yes u-um w-well"

"That's enough, Shelly. Good work."

The same voice from the box. I looked around and saw a doorway that wasn't there a second ago, a man in a gray trench coat with a cane and a Kepi hat with burn scars across the right side of his face, and smoking a cigar. And the girl who has been questioning me is she.

Shelly - "Y-yes, Sir Maverick Sir"

Sir Maverick - "Don't just tell the monster my name, you idiot!"

The man walked in, and Shelly stood up, and as she did, the man flicked her in the head

Shelly - "wowy :'("

Shelly grabbed her head and crouched down, and started to sob. The man sat down in front of me and blew the smoke of his cigar in my face.

Adren Tarford - "What was the smoke for. why- "

Sir Maverick - "What the fuck are you. You have too much magic for any non-hostile creature we have documented. You also had quite the violent tantrum before falling unconscious, destroying the gold sector's 1st face military base. . . all I want to know is why?"

What is he talking about? All I remember is the cube room?

Adren Tarford - "What are you talking abou-"

Sir Maverick - "23 people dead, 134 injured. You're a murderer. Quite the coincidence that you killed only military commanders and pilots."

I killed people. No. No, I didn't. No. . . I have all of these injuries; it's possible. No is most certainly probable, but if I say yes, will he kill me?

Adren Tarford - "I promise you, the only thing I remember is being in the cube room."

Maverick - "Are you sure of this? Are you did not have a feeling before you woke, think."

I pondered this, thinking back to the deepest part of my limited memory.

Adren Tarford - "Pity. . . I felt Pity."

Maverick - "There we are, finally something to work with."

Maverick took a deep puff of his cigar and blew it to the side. He looked at me and adjusted his hat so I could see his good eye. This deep blood red. Just as quickly as he came, he got up and started walking away

Maverick - "Shelly, come on."

Shelly - "Y-Yes, Sir."

He walked out of the doorway that he had created when he entered, and Shelly quickly followed. He looked over his shoulder.

Maverick - "You were in a state of madness when you killed those people. If this is real you, I doubt that you could kill a fly, let alone 157 warriors of the E-Table. Either that or you're a really good actor."

He looked to his left

Maverick - "Close the door."

"Shling"

The top of the wall slides down, covering the entrance.

What the hell is happening? I am in a place of war; this looks like something from a fairy tale. I'm a prisoner of war, no. They said I was from a Rift? Like a portal? I was in a state of savagery and killed. . . I killed people and made many more suffer. Who are those people?

"drip"

What. . . am I crying? I dont even know those people, why would I cry for them?

I rubbed my face on my elbow and sobbed for some time before I fell asleep.

Chapter 1: Part 3: talk with the silver commander

"Tink"

I slowly opened my eyes and looked at where the sound came from.

"Shlick"

In front of me on a plate was a piece of bread, a spoon, and a can with some meat in it, and a glass of water and a second glass of water?

I looked around before grabbing the water and taking a big sip. And it was so strong

Adren Tarford - "Bla"

Was this alcohol?

Adren Tarford - "What is this?"

I set it down and grabbed the other glass and took a small sip. . . good water. I then reached for the bread and sank my teeth into it and ripped off a chunk. It's good, has a few raisins in it. Reaching for the spoon mid choing and scooped up the meat and looked at it, and then smelled it. Really salty and fishy. Taking a bite, it has a tuna taste.

After gobbling up the rest of the meal, leaving only the glass of alcohol, i set my spoon down.

Adren Tarford - "Thank you for the meal."

"Shlick"

Looking to my left, this woman emerged from a doorway made from a section of the wall being lifted. The woman was wearing white clothes and red gloves, boots, hat, and belt.

"Hello, Magia beast."

She pulled out the chair across from me, spun it around, and straddled it backwards. Resting her arms across the backrest, she reached into her pocket, flicked open a lighter, and lit a cigarette. The flame briefly illuminated her face before she took a long drag, exhaling a thin stream of smoke as she studied me from across the room.

"What do you know about the E-Table Beast?"

Beast. That's a name, alright.

Adren Tarford - "Not much. There are faces to it, right?"

"Sort of Beast. The E-Table is the bunker we are in right now. The gold sector is a part of the E-Table."

So we are underground. And the E-Table is a city being protected by these sectors.

Adren Tarford - "Why are there these sectors, and what about the faces?"

"Nope, my turn for a question. You answered my question, then asked yours, so it's my turn. Can you sense the Magia in the hanger down the hall?"

Adren Tarford - "There is a hanger down the hall?"

So I am in a military base underground

"Yes. Now answer the question!"

Adren Tarford - "No. I can't sense it."

"How did you lose your arm before the gold military incident?"

Adren Tarford - "I- . . ."

I lost my arm before I was here? So I was in a fight before going through the rift.

Adren Tarford - "I dont know."

"Grate. You're full of useful answers, aren't you, Beast? Go on, your turn to ask a question."

Well, I need to know what to call her.

Adren Tarford - "What's your name?"

"Ha, what a stupid question. . ."

She looked down and put out her cigarette, opened her mouth, and closed it. She did it again

Ashlen 6 - "Ashlen 6, commander of the 6th face of the silver sector."

She then got up, walked around to me, pulled out a needle, and looked down at me.

Adren Tarford - "H-hello Ashlen."

"Click."

"Zap"

Electricity shot from the stick, and she began to put it towards me.

She isn't going to tase me? Is she?

Adren Tarford - "Hold on, what did I do wrong? Surely there are better ways to deal with this conversation."

She reached closer and closer and pressed it against my bindings.

"Bang, bang"

As they fell to the floor.

Ashlen 6 - "I needed to unlock you. Why would I zap you? Dumb Beast"

Adren Tarford - "Y-Ya."

I rubbed my neck and looked around. She turned around, and a door opened, and she looked at me.

Ashlen 6 - "Come on. Why would I unbind you if I didn't want you to follow me?"
