Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : The Condition

Kabir was so furious that he pinned Sanchi against the wall.

Her back collided with the cold surface as Kabir stepped dangerously close. They were standing so near that they could feel each other's warm breaths. His nose almost brushed against hers.

Their eyes locked.

Both carried the same fire.

The same hatred.

For a few moments, neither of them looked away.

"How dare you do something like that?" Kabir growled. "How dare you hurt yourself?"

Sanchi glared back.

"Not once, but a thousand times if I want to!" she shot back. "It's my life. I'll do whatever I want."

A dangerous look flashed through Kabir's eyes.

"Your life may belong to you," he said coldly, "but the right to destroy it doesn't. The moment you became my wife, that right became mine."

Sanchi's fists tightened.

Kabir moved even closer.

"And listen carefully, Sanchi."

His voice turned darker.

"If you ever try something like this again... if you even think about it..."

He paused before delivering the next words.

"Your family will suffer the consequences."

Sanchi froze.

The anger in her eyes disappeared instantly.

Fear replaced it.

Because she knew one thing better than anyone else—

Kabir never made empty threats.

If he said something, he would do it.

And that was exactly what terrified her.

Her family was everything to her.

For them, she could sacrifice her dreams...

Her happiness...

Even her entire life.

The color drained from her face.

Tears that she had been holding back finally escaped.

One after another.

Her strength crumbled.

The courage she had gathered with so much effort shattered within seconds.

Kabir watched her silently.

For the first time, seeing her break like this created an unfamiliar ache inside him.

His heart and mind were at war.

After a long moment, he finally stepped back.

Holding her wrist gently, he led her toward the dining table and seated her on a chair.

This time, instead of sitting across from her, he chose the seat beside her.

Sanchi remained silent.

Like a lifeless doll.

Kabir leaned back and spoke in a low voice.

"Sanchi baby... if you wanted me to feed you with my own hands, you could've just said so."

Without waiting for a response, he picked up a bite of food and held it near her lips.

Sanchi looked at him.

The moment their eyes met, his earlier threat echoed in her mind.

She lowered her gaze and silently accepted the food.

Kabir fed her patiently.

One bite after another.

And for the first time that day, neither of them argued.

When dinner was finally over, Kabir brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

Then he spoke.

"Sanchi... let's talk about something important."

His expression became serious.

"I know you're not happy with this marriage."

A bitter smile appeared on his lips.

"And honestly... neither am I."

Sanchi looked at him in surprise.

But Kabir continued.

"However, whether we like it or not, the marriage has happened."

"You are my wife."

"That is the truth."

"This relationship is the truth."

"And sooner or later, you'll have to accept it."

His gaze hardened.

"Personally, I don't care about this relationship."

"But you will."

"So the sooner you accept reality, the better it will be for you."

His voice dropped lower.

"Dont forget, Sanchi..."

"I am the kind of person who can set the entire world on fire for a single decision."

"You'll stay in front of my eyes for the rest of your life."

His eyes turned cold.

"And if you ever try to leave me again..."

His jaw tightened.

"I'll punish your family in ways you can't even imagine."

Sanchi's breathing became uneven.

Kabir leaned closer.

Very close.

"So don't misunderstand this as love."

His eyes burned with obsession and hatred at the same time.

"This is your punishment."

"A lifetime punishment."

"You'll stay in front of me..."

"As my wife."

"Your life belongs to my name now."

"You'll always be my wife first..."

"And everything else later."

"And I mean it."

For a moment, silence filled the space between them.

Sanchi slowly closed her eyes.

A long, cold breath escaped her lips.

Kabir felt that breath brush against his face.

Time seemed to stop.

The distance between them existed only in name.

Minutes passed.

Finally, Sanchi opened her eyes.

The moment she realized how close Kabir was, she instinctively pulled back.

Kabir also stepped away.

An awkward silence settled between them.

Then...

Sanchi straightened her back.

A strange determination appeared in her eyes.

"Fine."

Her voice was calm.

Too calm.

"If that's what you want..."

"If you want me to stay with you as your wife..."

"I will."

Kabir's eyes narrowed.

"But..."

Sanchi paused.

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

One that Kabir couldn't understand.

"I have one condition."

To Be Continued...
