Synopsis
In the fractured world of Eryndor, survival belongs to those who know when to run, when to hide, and when to take what the ruins leave behind. Kael has lived as a scavenger for years, slipping through broken cities and forgotten ruins in search of anything worth selling. He has no noble blood, no grand title, and no place among the powerful. Only sharp instincts, a strange compass, and a talent for surviving places that should have killed him. But when a ruin expedition pulls him into the world of licensed explorers, Kael begins uncovering truths buried beneath Echoes, Fractures, and memories the world itself refuses to forget. Power in Eryndor is not simply gained. It is understood. And as Kael learns to read the dangers others overlook, something impossible begins to take shape around him. A path. A contradiction. A paradox.

Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

The Day the World Cracked

The sky above Eryndor tore open like broken glass.

For a single moment, the world remembered something it was never meant to remember.

Reality fractured.

Cities collapsed.

Mountains split.

Entire civilizations vanished into the echoes of time.

Historians would later call it The Prime Fracture.

But those who witnessed it called it something else.

They called it the day the world cracked.

Seventeen years before the Ashfall frontier ruins awakened…

A man stood alone at the edge of a collapsing chamber.

Stone pillars cracked around him.

Ancient walls split open as violent waves of Echo energy rippled through the ruins.

The chamber had been stable only moments before.

Now reality itself seemed to be unraveling.

The man gripped a strange compass in his hand.

Its needle spun wildly.

Behind him, several Synod agents shouted orders.

"Seal the chamber!"

"We're losing stability!"

"This place is collapsing!"

But the man didn't move.

His eyes remained fixed on the compass.

The needle had stopped.

Pointing somewhere impossible.

A crack spread across the floor.

Light poured from within it.

Not light like fire.

Not light like lightning.

Something older.

Something deeper.

Echo.

The chamber began collapsing faster.

One of the Synod agents shouted.

"Give us the artifact!"

But the man only tightened his grip on the compass.

"No."

The ground broke apart beneath his feet.

Fragments of stone lifted into the air as Echo waves distorted the chamber.

The man looked toward the crack forming in reality.

And then he made his choice.

He stepped forward.

The rupture swallowed him.

The chamber exploded with blinding white light.

When the dust settled…

Only the compass remained.

Far away, a young boy woke suddenly in the night.

Kael Viremont sat upright in bed, breathing hard.

Something had called to him.

Something distant.

Something broken.

He didn't know why.

But deep inside his chest…

He felt it.

The world had just remembered something.

And one day…

So would he.
