The feathers on the bird's body melted rapidly within the black flames, and moments later, it turned into a grayish-white featherless bird carcass.

As time passed, after a full quarter of an hour, the bird's corpse had shrunk noticeably, as if its flesh and blood had been evaporated by the flames, leaving behind a skeletal, emaciated frame of pale bones.
Liu Ming made a single-handed gesture, and with a "puff," a foot-long white bone detached itself from the corpse and flew toward him. He then opened his mouth and spat out another stream of black flames, wrapping it around the white bone.
