The Seventh Calamity: I am the True Villain!

WanderingShadow1
---WSA 2025 Entry--- For eons, the world had endured 6 different resets—known as 'Calamities'. Each calamity introduced a completely new power system while eradicating the previous one as if it never existed in the first place. ***** In the modern world, a virtual reality game — 'The Seven Calamities' took over the world with its release. With its intricate and complex worlds that followed a variety of power systems, became a common ground for the whole world. Kai Evernox was a 17-year-old orphan who struggled to make his living through the ways of Scavenger in the game. He, just like any other player, awaited the next and the final update of the game—The Seventh Calamity. Just a night before the update, a mysterious old man who claimed to be the creator of the game called in a press conference. "All that you thought as a mere fantasy, all of it was true. The Seventh Calamity will be the End. And the only one who can stop it from happening is you, my friend." With that said, the old man perished away into particles of light, leaving the world stunned as system windows popped up in front of all human lives. The world fell into havoc, while a grin crept onto Kai's face as his memories returned. Now the question begs to be answered... Which path will the Primordial Villain—The Survivor Of 6 Worlds—choose? *** Discord => https://discord.gg/mGW9hveJBj

Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

I see dead people. But hey, it’s the zombie apocalypse, everyone is seeing dead people, including a blind girl. It’s not like I am that special. For a while, I thought I was going to be Cinderella, complete with the cruel stepfamily and the little mice for helpers. But instead of mice, I got demons from hell with a taste for chaos. Then again, there is nothing wrong with a little chaos in the middle of the apocalypse. It’s what makes life worth living. Unfortunately for others, they don’t quite see it that way. You see, I have a gift. One that isn’t exactly mine, but I can use it however I see fit. My gift is granting wishes. I'm a genie without a bottle, but it would be nice if people appreciated me more. All the humans ask for is the same thing… more food here, shelter there, kill these people, torture those. And I do it all, for a small price. I don’t ask for money or food, I can get that on my own. No, I want favors, souls, something that means everything for the other person. And they give it to me. Their momentary desire worth their long term happiness. But by the time they discover that, I’m long gone, already moved on to my next… client. I know I look young, starvation and abuse will do that to a girl. Humans tell me that I shouldn’t be wandering out there alone. Some try to help me… most don’t. But whoever said I was by myself? Just because others couldn’t see them didn’t mean my demons ever left. I still hear their voices in my head, whispering words of encouragement and love. For them, I’d do anything. Kill anyone. Destroy anything. After all, life is just a game, right? Those still alive at the end of the day were the lucky ones. Those who died were not. Everything is just a game of chance, all a human has to do is roll the dice. My only word of advice is to be careful what you wish for… you just might get it. My name is Hattie, welcome to my world. Would you like a cup of tea?

From Freelancer to Celestial Monarch

What would you do if one day you were told you were one of the chosen who would have to battle to save the world? Akio was an average guy, having moved to the big city from his humble town in the mountains. Sure, his IT freelancing job wasn't making him big money, and he wasn't exactly a hit with the ladies, but life wasn't all that bad... until one day a mysterious angel-like being visited him to tell him the Earth was in danger. Many would be chosen to fight this fate, but would any succeed? Of course, if one could have the usual cheat skills everything would work out, wouldn't it? So why was his skill like a garbage pay-to-win mobile game? Akio would have to not only hone his skills and build his Astral Empire, but he would need to raise money, secure land and become a player on Earth too! Facing this challenging task alone would surely be impossible, so Akio needs to make strong and beautiful allies to take on all those who would oppose him. Who would that be, you ask? The old myths of Earth are returning, alien invaders are waiting outside on the Astral Tides, Cultivators are looking for their next faces to slap, Demons are whispering poison into the ears of anyone who would listen, and whoever was trying to save Earth by granting various people powers were making some really awful choices... Join Akio as he starts at the bottom of the ladder, clawing his way to the top and discovering one can change their destiny, so long as they work hard (and have a boat-load of money!). [This story is a modern world LitRPG where I try and balance the real world, the other world and various character-development scenarios. The pace can be described as 'measured', as there is a lot of 'slice-of-life' style events to balance 'number-go-up' and Territory capture] What can you expect from this story? MC and side characters who are flawed and make mistakes, but ultimately grow and change, bettering themselves and the world around them. Yes, the MC does start off a bit weak and whiny, but he does get over it as the story progresses. It's a slow burn though. Likewise Harem and romance. it is most definitely harem, though again it's a slow burn and not easy to reach. There are some r18 scenes with them, but these don't happen until a fair way into the story. Real-world consequences of power. I'm trying to explore this slowly, so expect politics down the line. Base-building in both the real and the other world, growing power, money, influence and more. it's a slow burn but a focus. Cultivators, Faeries, Demons, Gods and more, though again, it takes a while for more and more of these to appear.
