Stolen Stars
In a world long stripped of its stars—where the sky has been swallowed by soot and smoke—power is everything, and survival is a lie. Humanity has fractured into two worlds: the Mundanes—those without power, cast into the wastelands and rust-choked cities—and the Awakened, whose blood hums with stolen light, who climb through the levels of power until they become Stars themselves. At the bottom lie the Enlightened, the first spark of something more than human. At the top—legends who no longer bleed.
The war has been burning for centuries, though few remember why it started. Between city-states ruled by warlords and sanctuaries that serve as both havens and prisons, the battlelines shift like shadows in smoke. But beneath the surface, something older is stirring—something that devours light, that erases stars from the sky.
Riven, a broken soldier with no memory of her past and a pulse she should not possess, crawls out of the slag fields half-dead. Branded as Mundane, she should be powerless. But something has cracked inside her, leaking through her veins. Hunted by the Awakened, she is thrust into a war she cannot escape, where broken things become weapons and the last light of the stars is slipping through her hands.
