Today is New Year's Eve, then... what will she receive?
Matilda Jenkins waited for that person to come, feeling anxious yet hopeful, not knowing what she was actually anticipating. It was as though she was traversing the Endless Desert, enveloped in despair, and then she saw a sprout of green grass.
And wherever there was grass, a water source couldn't be far, for in the desert, water represented all hope.
Matilda didn't know why, she knew it was impossible, impossible… yet she still hoped, she wished to witness a miracle.
But she was also scared, scared... of disappointment!
Matilda turned off all the lights in the Bedroom, lit only a candle, she didn't watch TV or look at her mobile phone, just sat on the ground, leaning against the door.
She curled up, not knowing when this long night would ever end.
Yet, this night was the first bearable one since Nathaniel York had left.
