To be honest, I considered transferring Setsuna to a multiverse setting like One Piece or Demon Slayer, but I believe it would be better to write a new fiction specifically for those worlds.
For the side story, I plan to place Setsuna into a Chinese fiction setting, where he will be transported into the world of a novel.
The novel is about a villainous mother set in the 1970s, and it happens to be one of my rare favorites among Chinese fiction.
However, the one thing I dislike is the portrayal of a particular side character. This character is written in a negative light, seemingly to highlight the goodness and moral superiority of the female main character.
The side character is depicted as lustful and morally corrupt, eventually bringing harm to her own children.
As a form of wish fulfillment, I plan to introduce Setsuna into this world. It will be interesting to see how his presence might change the course of events.
The reason I began writing fiction was because of the pain I felt when Severus Snape's love died with him. It left a deep ache in my heart, and I often told myself, rather than letting that pain linger, why not write a different ending?
A similar feeling struck me while reading this particular Chinese novel set in the 1970s. It hurt deeply to see how the children of a minor antagonist, who did nothing wrong were treated so harshly, simply because the author intended it that way.
I don't mind when villains face the consequences of their actions, but it becomes difficult to accept when innocent characters suffer unjustly.
So please don't be surprised when you see Setsuna appear in a side story where he travels to a more grounded, realistic universe. This is simply my way of healing, of rewriting the stories that once broke my heart.
