Chapter 171 - Chapter 171: The Sun God Star, the Power of Wishes, and the Start of the Ninja World Tournament

The views on Lord Sun God had been divided for many years.

People acknowledged Hyuga Hitoshi's strength and his skill in governing a nation—after all, the power of the Sun God Kingdom was undeniable. However, his obsession with beautiful kunoichi had also led to some negative opinions.

His romantic escapades were legendary—enough to fill an entire book. With so many stories about him, it was no surprise that he had a bit of a reputation.

But Hyuga Hitoshi rarely responded to such comments. He knew that every legend came with rumors and gossip. More often than not, he simply shrugged them off, treating them as nothing more than idle talk.

Long ago, he had decided that judging people from an outsider's perspective was pointless. He preferred to settle his grudges on the spot rather than act like some all-knowing observer. That's why, aside from explaining the history of the ninja world back in his academy days, he never went around lecturing others about their so-called lack of vision.

Yet, even without him pointing it out, the people of the ninja world were suddenly realizing just how far behind they were in terms of perspective.

Why?

Because while they were still caught up in clan rivalries, village politics, and personal power struggles—while they were fighting wars over territory and status—the man who had already unified the ninja world had set his sights beyond it.

Silently, without grand announcements, he had done something truly extraordinary.

Even though they didn't fully understand the scale of power beyond their world, they knew one thing—moving an entire planet was beyond anything they could comprehend. Someone capable of such a feat had no reason to concern himself with mere mortals like them.

And yet, Hyuga Hitoshi had been thinking about the future of the ninja world all along. He had already planned a sustainable path forward.

Compared to his vision, their ambitions seemed utterly insignificant.

At that moment, many so-called "brilliant" men of the ninja world lowered their heads in shame. Their admiration for Lord Sun God came from deep within their hearts.

A man like him truly deserved to have countless divine consorts.

A man like him truly had the right to stand above the entire ninja world.

If the ninja world had a single god—

It had to be the Sun God!

"Did you hear that… just now?"

At a construction site in the Sun God Kingdom, Momoshiki, who had just put down a brick and was about to sneak away, silently picked it back up. Under Nagato's watchful gaze, he turned to Urashiki and whispered.

Urashiki was quiet for a moment before also picking up a brick and nodding slightly. He wasn't deaf—he had heard everything loud and clear.

He didn't know what kind of technology the Sun God Kingdom had to broadcast its message across the entire ninja world, but one thing was certain.

Dragon Style hadn't sent Kaguya's enemies after her for revenge.

The broadcast didn't mention it outright, but it was obvious—something had gone very wrong with Dragon Style.

Otherwise, the mere idea of using his planet as a backup for the ninja world would have been a massive insult to him. He would've jumped out immediately to retaliate.

But the truth was, after that announcement, both the Ten-Tails on that planet and the entire ninja world had fallen silent. The planet, which had been drawing closer to the ninja world, was now stabilizing its orbit, just as the broadcast had said.

That planet was now Hyuga Hitoshi's trophy.

"How ridiculous."

Otsutsuki Momoshiki grabbed another brick, his previous disdain for Earthlings now completely gone.

In fact, the more he thought about it, the more it felt like the Otsutsuki Clan were the real weaklings here.

Maybe they were the ones who were meant to be conquered.

No one else might understand, but Momoshiki suddenly had a strange thought.

For the first time, he felt an urge to surrender.

It wasn't that they hadn't tried their best—Earthlings were just too terrifying.

Even at their strongest, the Otsutsuki Clan had only ever drained planets of their energy, turning them into barren wastelands to cultivate Chakra Fruits.

But moving an entire planet?

That was beyond anything even the most advanced Rinnegan could do.

Besides, Urashiki and Momoshiki had seen what Dragon Style had done to that planet.

Back then, it wasn't completely lifeless, but it was close.

And yet, somehow, Hyuga Hitoshi had managed to revive a dead world.

"The power to restore a planet…"

Otsutsuki Isshiki narrowed his eyes as a thought crossed his mind.

That information might be even more valuable than the Chakra Fruits themselves.

After all, the Otsutsuki Clan survived by planting Divine Trees and consuming their fruits to evolve. But in the process, the Divine Trees completely drained the planets they were on.

That meant they were constantly searching for new, suitable planets—something that wasn't easy to find.

The Otsutsuki Clan had an entire system for selecting the right worlds, and it took them a long time to locate suitable ones.

That was one of the reasons Earth had become so important to them.

But if a planet that was about to be drained—or had already been drained—could come back to life...

That would mean they could keep producing Chakra Fruits endlessly! They could keep consuming them and evolving forever!

"We must report this to the higher-ups!"

Momoshiki said seriously. This was something that could affect the entire future of the Otsutsuki Clan.

"A huge achievement."

Even Urashiki, who was always fooling around, got serious. He knew how important this information would be to the clan. If they could establish a sustainable system, all three of them would be credited for it.

"Don't rush."

Just then, Isshiki smiled as if he had thought of something.

"It's clear that Hyuga Hitoshi has some kind of revival power. There were already rumors that he could bring people back to life whenever he wanted. If he has now reached the point where he can revive entire planets, it's not impossible. Reporting this information will earn us some credit, but..."

"That's not enough."

Otsutsuki Isshiki spoke with confidence, then turned to look at Momoshiki.

"Let's not talk about this mission. You failed to take control of Earth, got ambushed by that traitor Kaguya, and lost the fruit to her. If you return to the clan like this, they'll definitely punish you and turn you into a pill. Even if you report this news, at best, it'll only cancel out your failures. You won't gain anything from it. In fact, you might even lose your chance to be sent out on missions again."

"And your situation isn't much better, Momoshiki. Because of the existence of the Sun God Kingdom, you couldn't complete your Chakra collection task. Your standing in the clan will definitely drop. You might even lose your chance to consume another Chakra Fruit. And on top of that, you ate Kinshiki."

This...

After hearing Isshiki's words, Momoshiki, who had been excited a moment ago, suddenly calmed down.

He was right. Even if he brought back valuable information, his mission was still a failure. And he had failed after consuming his own guardian. Reporting this to the higher-ups would just be humiliating.

His connections in the clan were strong, but that only made it worse—he had to maintain his reputation. Going back like this would completely ruin his image.

"And as for you, Urashiki, you're in even more trouble. Even if you report this planet revival news, you failed in your role as a guardian. You let the one you were supposed to protect—Dragon Style—get completely wiped out. Do you really think his faction will let you off the hook?"

Looking at Urashiki's face, which had suddenly turned pale, Isshiki continued in a calm tone.

"I know Dragon Style is in trouble. His planet and his Ten-Tails were stolen. That's not really your fault—you did your duty as a guardian and even used your own body to feed the Ten-Tails. But no one knows what happened to Dragon Style now. And since his planet was taken, the best-case scenario is that he's barely surviving, just like I had to find a vessel to keep going."

Just as Isshiki was speaking, he suddenly stopped. His mouth hung open as he stared off into the distance.

Otsutsuki members seemed to share an invisible connection. At the same time, Urashiki and Momoshiki also turned to look, their expressions shifting strangely.

Well, speak of the devil—Dragon Style's vessel had just appeared.

Uchiha Madara had just arrived at a construction site, excitedly carrying a chakra-forged katana. He had planned to check in with Hashirama to see how things were going. But by chance, he happened to walk past the three of them.

"Why... why didn't he come over and say hello?"

For a long time, Urashiki stood frozen, watching as Uchiha Madara's figure disappeared in the distance.

Even if Dragon Style was just surviving inside his vessel, with his level of power, he should have at least been able to take control for a moment—just enough to greet them or exchange a few words.

They had clearly sensed Dragon Style's power inside that man. Yet, he didn't make a move. He wasn't even willing to share information with them.

"There must be some kind of restriction... but with his strength and personality, that doesn't make much sense."

Momoshiki was confused. He had no idea what Dragon Style was thinking.

What they didn't know was that Dragon Style was afraid. Afraid that if he spoke up, Uchiha Madara would realize his presence. And if that happened, Hyuga Hitoshi—that terrifying man—would come for him again. Did they really think he was bluffing when he said he wouldn't try to take over his vessel?

From his perspective, as long as he didn't try to take control, he could at least survive. He could stay inside Uchiha Madara's body. That guy was strong by human standards, so using his power wouldn't be too shameful.

The key was survival. If he tried to take over, he'd be walking straight to his death. Hyuga Hitoshi would definitely step in and make sure he was completely erased.

So why should he care if Momoshiki and Urashiki were confused? What did their problems have to do with him? As long as he could stay alive, that was all that mattered.

"You all saw it—things are tense. So tense that even Dragon Style's vessel isn't acting normally. That's why, when it comes to reporting this information, I hope you'll listen to my idea."

Isshiki spoke with a serious expression.

"Go ahead."

Momoshiki and Urashiki exchanged glances, then nodded. Isshiki had spent the most time dealing with Earthlings. Maybe he really did have a way to get them out of this mess.

"Surrender."

Isshiki narrowed his eyes as he spoke a shocking word. But instead of reacting with outrage, both Momoshiki and Urashiki felt like it actually made perfect sense.

If they couldn't win, what was wrong with surrendering?

"Of course, this surrender would only be temporary. Our real goal is to act as spies—to uncover the source of Hyuga Hitoshi's terrifying power and to learn how the Sun God Kingdom trains its warriors. Most importantly, we need to understand this revival ability. Even if we can't fully grasp it, we need to gather as much information as possible.

When the time comes, our status in the clan will rise higher than ever!"

"When we report back, we'll emphasize how tough things were while we were undercover. That'll definitely impress our superiors and earn us some major credit!"

After spending so much time on Earth and even creating the Kara organization, Otsutsuki Isshiki had fully grasped the power struggles within it. He had even learned how to navigate workplace politics and use them to his advantage.

"And the details? What exactly do we do?"

Momoshiki didn't understand all this workplace strategy. He just wanted to know what he needed to do next.

"Keep working, and bring your sister to Earth as soon as possible—her charm isn't any less than Kaguya's."

Isshiki spoke calmly, but his words made Momoshiki's face darken again. This time, however, he didn't reject the idea outright. Now that he knew Hyuga Hitoshi had only one major weakness—his lust—he had no choice but to consider sacrificing his sister's happiness for his own success.

The other Otsutsuki women were beautiful, but they lacked a certain presence. Otherwise, Kaguya wouldn't have caught Dragon Style's attention. If bringing his sister in could help his brother gain merit and secure the future, then maybe it wasn't a bad idea.

Besides, if they were going to be undercover, someone had to stay close to Hyuga Hitoshi and work from the inside.

"I'll think about it. Keep going."

Momoshiki said with a grim expression.

"Work hard and take it seriously. Keep participating in the Ninja World Tournament like before, but be careful with your moves. Make it look real, but don't go all out."

Otsutsuki Isshiki took a deep breath and laid out his plan.

"Also, we need to prepare for the possibility that we won't be able to win the tournament and obtain the Sun God Seal. If that happens, we'll have to find another way after surrendering. From my research, the best way for outsiders to obtain the Sun God Seal is to enlist in the military!"

Enlist?

That was a new concept. Urashiki and Momoshiki looked completely lost.

"It means passing the tests and joining the Sun God Kingdom's guard force. As you've seen, the Sun God Kingdom has started taking over planets, but not every world will accept the Sun God's laws. That's when the Sun God Guard will step in—and that's our chance to prove ourselves!"

Otsutsuki Isshiki spoke with absolute confidence.

"With our strength, we'll definitely be noticed in the guard. Once we get the Sun God Seal, we can climb the ranks. Then, with your sister influencing things from the inside, reaching the top might not be impossible!"

Damn, now even I'm getting excited!

Urashiki and Momoshiki swallowed hard, already imagining their future.

"To show our sincerity, I'll take the lead. I'll hand over the Kara organization completely. Plus, there are a few attractive Earth women in the organization—I'll have them join the maid selection competition after the Ninja World Tournament. With multiple strategies at play, we're sure to succeed!"

Isshiki continued to build morale.

But Urashiki suddenly had a thought. He paused, put down his bricks, and stroked his chin.

"Wait a second, this is just a hypothetical, okay?"

He pointed at a distant planet, then at Earth.

"Hmm?"

"Is there a chance that after joining the Sun God Guard, we could be sent to attack a planet occupied by the Otsutsuki clan? Is there a chance that, as undercover agents, we might end up fighting our own kind? If that happens, do we choose to earn merit with the Sun God Kingdom, or..."

That question shut Isshiki and Momoshiki up instantly.

After calming down, Isshiki realized this was a real concern. But at this point, he had no choice but to press on. In the end, Momoshiki spoke up.

"We'll take it one step at a time. If it comes to that, we'll deal with it then. Who knows, maybe we'll just win the Ninja World Tournament after all."

"Yeah, that's true... We're Otsutsuki, after all."

"Keep working for now. Once your sister gets here, we'll decide the next step."

"..."

The turmoil that had erupted, seemingly driven by an unstoppable force, quickly settled once it was confirmed that the new planet had been discovered by the Sun God's divine will.

Nagato's Akatsuki launched a full-scale operation, capturing those who had taken advantage of the chaos to reveal the ugliest sides of human nature. With that, peace returned to the Ninja World.

But what the people of the Ninja World couldn't accept was the realization that human nature couldn't withstand a real test. Without strong beliefs, even the most mild-mannered and honest individuals could turn into beasts in times of crisis.

Without faith, they were nothing more than walking corpses.

Fortunately, this "natural disaster" had exposed many of these dangerous individuals. To avoid becoming mindless creatures themselves, people in the Ninja World started seeking ways to enrich their spiritual lives.

The best way? Devotion to the Sun God.

And in this new era, Hyuga Hitoshi—who had already absorbed a chakra fruit—finally understood the power Kaguya once felt. The immense, almost mystical force of faith, born from the prayers of countless believers.

A thousand years ago, Otsutsuki Kaguya didn't fully grasp this power. In fact, because of the negative effects of the God Tree's fruit, she even had some resistance to it. So, she used the chakra fruit to separate this power, and strangely enough, the separated energy and chakra turned into two living beings.

This is how Otsutsuki Hagoromo and Otsutsuki Hamura came to be. Essentially, they were tied to the shinobi world, in a way representing the will of the people. So later, when Kaguya's actions seemed like a threat to Earth but were actually an attempt to create power to protect it, it made sense that Hamura and Hagoromo, not knowing the full story, ended up sealing their mother.

The difference between the two brothers was that over the course of a thousand years, Hagoromo still wanted to control the shinobi world and even developed ambition, while Hamura handed the world's power over to Hyuga Hitoshi.

So, when it came to this mysterious power of faith, after the chakra fruit was purified, Hyuga Hitoshi didn't feel any resistance to it. Instead, he used it to completely stabilize the life force of the planet he had brought back, making it truly his own.

Once everything was in place, this strange new planet, brought back by the Sun God, caused a significant shift in the shinobi world's astronomy, creating an unprecedented impact.

Because of how it came to be, it was given a beautiful name.

The Sun God Star. In the future, it would become Earth's closest companion and serve as the first outpost for the shinobi world's interstellar travels.

The "disaster" had ended, the Sun God remained, and the Sun God Star became a major topic of conversation. People were in awe of the Sun God's immense power and eager to see what the future held for the shinobi world.

But as the excitement spread, time quietly moved on.

Eventually, once everyone had accepted the existence of the Sun God Star, the Otsutsuki working at the Sun God construction site finally set down their tools and, along with the others, headed toward the same destination.

There was only one reason.

The grand shinobi tournament, with the Sun God Seal as its reward, was finally about to begin!
