The door slowly creaked open wider as Byung-Ho stared inside with horror. There was someone there.. with the figure of a man. Snacking on his couch... leaving crumbs everywhere. "You..."
What is the meaning of this???
His eyes tweaked as he dropped his bags of groceries. "You bastard... what the hell are you doing here?!" He quickly approached the man and grabbed him by the collar to shake him back and forth. "Where did you find this place? Huh?"
Agent Cross was slung back and forth but managed to somehow remain calm in the presence of Byung-Ho.
"What do you mean?" He glanced at Byung-ho with a slight head tilt.
What do you mean? What do you mean???
There was practically smoke coming out of Byung-ho's ears as his eyes twitched even more. "What do I mean?! Isn't it obvious? What the hell are you doing in my home???"
This idiot, I can't believe this.. after all I've been through today... now I return home to this guy snacking away on my very newly polished room?!
Agent Cross stood up and dusted the snack particles onto the ground. "Did your agency not tell you?" He smiled and reached his dirty hand out for a handshake.
Byung-Ho could only stare at the hand in disgust before he knocked it away. "Are you kidding me? At least clean your hand first -
... lick
His eyes widened in pure disgust as Agent Cross began to lick his fingers clean.
"No.. no, no... isn't this way too different from the Agent Cross I saw yesterday?"
Byung-Ho unconsciously backed away from Agent Cross in horror and disgust.
"You stay away from me.. you.. you evil thing!"
He quickly ran to the other side of the apartment room and stuck his fists out like he was about to fight him.
Agent Cross only chuckled softly and wiped his hands on his suit before glancing at his watch. "You didn't let me finish my sentence." He cleared his throat and glanced around for his bag. He pulled his bag up and rummaged through the contents for a moment... silently.
My day couldn't have gotten any worse...
After rummaging for a while longer, Agent Cross finally pulled out a large stack of papers and dropped it on the couch. "Our agencies have decided that we will be partners. And so, I took it into my own hands and told the agencies that we should live together as well." He smiled proudly at Byung-Ho.
What is this bastard saying to me right now..?
"Hah.. what a funny joke."
Byung-Ho muttered as he chuckled lightly.
...
The room suddenly grew silent as Agent Cross stared at him with his unusual smile.
What's he lookin' at me like that for?
"You f*cker.. don't tell me you actually went through the long traitorous process of submitting multiple paperwork to live with me..."
Agent Cross stood there with a silent grin across his face.
There's no way.. because then he would have to speak to both agency managers and fill out a bunch of stupid forms and then blah blah blah...
The room remained silent as they stared at each other. Agent Cross with his obnoxious grin and Byung-Ho with his extremely annoyed expression. Oddly enough, Byung-Ho didn't seem completely opposed to the idea of living with Agent Cross.
Silence
"Okay.. fine. But I'm going to have to lay out a few rules."
Byung-Ho sat Agent Cross back down on the couch and handed him a broom.
"Clean up your own mess. And I don't want to see you licking your fingers again."
He's going to regret making this decision.. heh...hehehe... HAHAHA-
Agent Cross seemed completely puzzled as Byung-Ho handed him the broom. He began to swing it around like it was a sword. "Is this one of those cool weapons from your agency??" His words seemed completely genuine as he continued to play around with the broom.
This guy... don't tell me he's never cleaned anything before.
Byung-Ho groaned loudly and pulled the broom away from Agent Cross. "No! This is just a simple broom. Something you use to sweep the floor. See?"
He began to demonstrate by cleaning up the crumbs that Agent Cross spilled all over the floor.
"If you're going to live here, you need to do this nearly every day... okay?"
He handed the broom back to Agent Cross.
Okay, let's see if this guy can be useful.
Agent Cross held the broom gently and began to swing the broom back and forth. His eyes grew serious, and the tension in the room grew..
SWISH SWISH SWISH
The broom began to go out of control as Agent Cross swung it around at a speed unperceivable to the human eye. Dust flung everywhere while all Byung-Ho could do was stand and watch in terror. His life nearly flashed between his eyes as furniture was thrown around by the impact of the broom. "NO! NO! NO!"
Byung-Ho quickly knocked Agent Cross off his feet as stress-filled beads of sweat dripped down his forehead. "What have you done?!" He dropped down to his knees and gripped his hair. "My.. one day.. my one day-off...! Why me?! Why!!"
Agent Cross was on the ground after getting knocked off his feet. He stared up at Byung-ho for a moment before sitting up. He seemed slightly guilty after causing Byung-Ho to feel such turmoil.
"I'm sorry.. I thought it would be easy."
His voice was quiet as he lowered his head.
Byung-Ho sat on his knees in silence for a few more seconds before standing up and grabbing the grocery bags from where he previously dropped them. He remained silent as he took the bags to the kitchen to store the ingredients he had worked so hard to obtain. Agent Cross could only watch Byung-Ho with a face full of guilt.
Chop chop chop chop
The sounds of vegetables being cut on a chopping board could be heard from the kitchen. Agent Cross glanced over and saw Byung-Ho rapidly chopping vegetables to contain his anger from spilling out. The knife moved incredibly fast as the vegetables were cut into perfectly thin slices.
Good thoughts.. good thoughts.. it's okay. He's new to this.. he's new..
Byung-Ho repeated good thoughts in his head over and over again until he finished cutting up all the vegetables. His breathing was stabled and he seemed much more calm now.
"Ahem.. Agent Cross, please just... don't touch anything from now on out. Okay? I won't even make you clean.. just don't touch anything." There goes my idea of having my own personal maid...
Agent Cross seemed even more guilt stricken. He looked away and nodded solemnly.
Huh? What's up with him? Shouldn't I be the sad one? Is he trying to make me feel bad for him? Why is it working???
The room became silent again.
"Gosh.. stand up. We'll clean together later, come help me cook... or something.."
He mumbled while fidgeting with his knife.
Agent Cross immediately looked up at Byung-ho with a wide smile. He stood up and quickly made his way to Byung-Ho's side. "I'm at your service!" His grin seemed so genuine, it was almost scary to Byung-Ho.
This guy is so simple. Yet so weird?
Byung-Ho glanced at the stove and pointed at it. "Can you fill a large pot full of water for me?"
I'm sure he can do something as simple as this.
Agent Cross happily nodded his head and searched through the kitchen for a big enough pot to use. Byung-Ho was busy cutting up the meat.. meaning that he wasn't paying attention to Agent Cross at the moment. Which is also not the best case scenario right now...
CRASH
Byung-Ho immediately turned back towards Agent Cross in shock. His eyes widened as he saw large amounts of water spilling every where.
...
He stood there as the water reached his feet.
This guy can't be real.. there's no way someone like him actually exists.
He stared at Agent Cross, soaked in water.
"I'm going to turn around.. and when I turn back around, there better not be an ounce of water on the floor. Do you understand me? I'm giving you another chance here..."
Agent Cross nodded and quickly grabbed as many towels as he could to wipe up the mess. He slid across the kitchen floor, back and forth, to clean all the water as quickly as he could.
At this point, Byung-Ho's hands were shaking from how hard he was trying to suppress his anger. He tried to focus on cutting the meat, but his shaky hands led him to missing every portion of the meat and instead cutting his own hand multiple times. He didn't even notice the pain, he was just trying to avoid stabbing Agent Cross to death...
Huff.. huff...
Agent Cross was out of breath after wiping the floor as fast as he could. He tapped on Byung-Ho's shoulder. "I'm done."
Byung-Ho turned around and paused. What's this?
His eyes widened from complete shock. The entire kitchen floor looked brand new.. it was extremely sparkly and clean?
"Agent Cross.." He turned to look at Agent Cross with nearly tear filled eyes. "You really outdid yourself here.." Byung-Ho patted him on the back before suddenly grabbing him and pushing him out the kitchen. "Now stay over there and don't cross this line." He said while drawing an imaginary line between the kitchen and living room.
Agent Cross seemed proud after making Byung-Ho happy for once. He was so proud that he didn't even realize that he was kicked out of the kitchen.
An hour later
Finally, Byung-Ho finished cooking dinner and began to set the table. He had never cooked for another person before, so it felt kind of strange setting up two plates instead of one. It was strange, but he felt kind of happy to have someone around him after being alone for so long. Maybe that's why he didn't mind the idea of having Agent Cross stay with him as much as he thought he would...
