My name is Kim Suho. However, many know me as Agent Triple.

Agent Triple sits at his desk while tapping his pen against his notebook repeatedly.
Today, I'm turning 29. Usually, I wouldn't celebrate my birthday but...
SLAM - The door suddenly swings open.
The Chief enters the office room and stands in front of Agent Triple's desk with a stack of papers in his hands.
"Good morning, Agent Triple. Please fill out these forms as a warm-up for today."
He dropped the stack of papers on Triple's desk and immediately left before Triple had the chance to say anything.
...
This year is a little special.
Agent Triple sighs and places his pen down as he stares at the stack of papers on his desk. He closes his notebook and puts it away before anyone sees him writing in it.
-
Hours later, Agent Triple finishes all his paperwork and pulls his notebook out again.

I hate my boss.
However, I must persevere if I want to preserve my ranking as the number one agent at Rapid1.
- Continuing my previous journal entry this year is very special. It's the last year before I enter my thirties. Which is why I-
Agent Triple suddenly felt a presence peering over his shoulders and immediately closed his notebook while turning around in shock.
"Oh, today's your birthday?"
Byung-Ho casually stood behind Agent Triple while peering over.
Agent Triple gazed at Byung-Ho with unamusement. Even though he looked unphased, Triple was actually completely flustered that someone found out about his secret hobby of writing in a notebook.
"Yes. I would appreciate it if you kept my information confidential."
Triple's tone was stoic and formal to hide the fact that he was embarrassed.
Byung-Ho leaned against Triple's desk and snapped his fingers.
"Really? Wow.. I didn't think you were the type to be excited over a birthday."
He grinned and snickered quietly.
"Even someone like you have their own quirks, huh?"
Agent Triple suddenly stood up and glared at Byung-Ho.
"I'm not excited."
His voice grew more stern as he tried to intimidate Byung-Ho with his glare.
Byung-Ho cleared his throat and pulled himself off Triple's desk.
"Right.. my bad."
He raised his hands in the air, almost like he was surrendering.
"Nothing to be ashamed of. Well, I'll get going now, have a good birthday!"
Byung-Ho quickly left with his hands shoved in his pockets, leaving Agent Triple alone at his office desk once again. He let out another sigh and sat back down.
12:01 AM
One of my coworkers saw me writing in this notebook. Not only that, but he read through my entry for today.
He gripped the pen a little tighter.
Agent Phony... I'm not sure if he remembers me from when we used to train together, but he hasn't changed one bit...
- he's always been obnoxious and rowdy.
- has it been about 10 years? I've grown quite a lot since that time.

Agent Triple continued to tap his pen against the notebook as he pondered about what to write next.
I miss the simple days.
He finally closed his notebook and neatly placed it in his bag. He then stood up and checked his watch.
"Lunch."
He fixed his suit before leaving his office and heading to the Agency's cafeteria. There, he grabbed a few healthy food items and carried them to an empty table. He glanced around before sneaking his notebook and pen out.

- It's time for lunch. Today, I'm eating a classic Korean style lunch along with magnitudes of vegetables.
- I want to celebrate my birthday with a dish of my liking, but that's going to have to come after work is over.
- Right now, I want to plan a perfect birthday celebration.
He took a bite of his food and continued to write in his notebook.
- I have come to realize that celebrating a birthday requires multiple people to attend. However, that is impossible for me. For my connections are weak...
- That is why I must figure out a way to celebrate my birthday without having anyone attend. Must I buy a pet?
A few agents suddenly sat at the same table Agent Triple was sitting on. Their loud chattering disturbed Triple to a boiling point.
He quickly finished eating his food and returned to his office. There he could write in peace.

- So far, my birthday has been uneventful. There has been nothing but work.
Ding
Agent Triple glanced at his computer screen and noticed that there was a new email from the Chief. He reluctantly opened it.
Agent Triple, I have emailed you multiple files that I need you to print out and revise. Please send case details back to me by MIDNIGHT.
As Agent Triple skimmed through the email, he knew that he wasn't going to be able to return home any time soon.
He let out once another sigh and clicked on the attached files.
Even more hours later.

I finally finished all the work for today. I'm currently sitting at my desk writing in my notebook.
...
- I doubt that I will be able to buy a cake at this time of day...
Agent Triple stared at his notebook in silence. He didn't want to admit it, but he was kind of excited about his last birthday before turning thirty. He had multiple things planned for when he got home, but it was all ruined... now he could only sit in silence.
He let out another sigh. This time, it was long and filled with disappointment.
He stood up and grabbed his coat before tucking his chair into his desk. He ran a hand through his hair as he began to walk towards the door.
His hand reached the handle of his office door and suddenly it slung wide open.
POP!
Multiple agents stood outside Agent Triple's door, holding party poppers, hats, and pastries.
"Surprise!"
They all yelled in unison while Agent Triple stood at the door in complete shock. He slowly backed away as they crowded around him and sang the birthday song together.
Agent Triple had never felt this strange feeling before. He felt somewhat comforted by the surprise birthday gift after he had just lost all hope.
He paused .
"What.. how did everyone know?"
All the agents in the room glanced towards Byung-Ho's direction who was whistling while avoiding eye contact.
Byung-Ho smiled sheepishly and tried to play it off. "Uh- no~ me? No way! I promised that I wouldn't tell anyone!"
Agent Triple sighed and shook his head.
"You're the only one who knew."
Byung-Ho glanced away while whistling again.
A heavy sigh left Agent Triple's mouth before he suddenly let out a small smile.
"Thank you."
He whispered quietly before turning his attention back to the other agents.
Byung-Ho caught on to the whisper and gave a thumbs up while grinning widely.

10:30 PM
I'm home. I haven't gotten the chance to write in my notebook after I left the office, so I'm going to fill everything in.
- I truly believed that I wouldn't be able to celebrate my birthday properly today... but that all changed when my coworkers surprised me with a cake.
- the one behind it all, Agent Phony.
He made my wish come true... and for that, I thank him. Maybe being nosy isn't so bad after all...
...
- I will never forget this day. I haven't had this feeling since I was much younger.. and now I get to experience it all over again.
- Now, I'm going to get ready for bed.
Good night.
