This calm, this detachment, only served to fuel Sofie's anger further. 'How can she be so calm?' Sofie thought, her fists clenching at her sides. How can she bear this with such indifference?'
With a snarl, Sofie lunged forward, her fist connecting with Solphie's face with a sickening 'bang'.
Solphie's head snapped to the side, her body following, and she crumpled to the floor, her head hitting the wall with a dull thud.
Blood began to pour from a gash on her forehead, trickling down her pale face, mingling with her tears.
Sofie stood over her, breathing heavily, her chest heaving with rage.
"What is with those indifferent eyes?" Sofie spat, her voice a low growl. "You act as if you don't care, as if none of this matters to you."
Solphie looked up at her, her blue eyes filled with a mix of pain and something else, something Sofie couldn't quite identify.
Defiance, perhaps, or maybe just a deep, abiding sadness. She said nothing, just continued to stare at Sofie with that same calm, infuriating indifference.
Sofie's anger boiled over, and she began to rain down blows on Solphie, her fists connecting with bone and flesh, the sound of impacts echoing through the chamber like a macabre symphony.
She punched Solphie's jaw, the force of the blow snapping her head back, her teeth clacking together, blood filling her mouth. She slapped her, the sound of palm meeting cheek loud and sharp, Solphie's head whipping to the side with the force of it.
She hit her again and again, her fists and palms leaving marks on Solphie's face, her eyes filling with tears of pain and humiliation.
"I will make you beg me to stop this," Sofie panted, her voice a low, vicious growl. "You will, or I will just kill you."
Solphie's lip was split, blood trickling down her chin, her eye already beginning to swell, her jaw surely broken.
But still, she said nothing, just continued to stare at Sofie with those infuriatingly calm eyes, her breath coming in ragged gasps, her body shaking with the effort of holding herself together.
Sofie said "Let me show you real pain."
Sofie's hand began to glow, the skin turning a fiery red, the veins beneath it pulsing with molten magma.
She pressed her leg against Solphie's broken jaw, the force of it crushing the smaller woman's face, blood oozing from her mouth, her lips splitting under the pressure.
Solphie let out a low moan of pain, but still, she said nothing, just continued to stare at Sofie with those infuriatingly calm eyes.
Sofie brought her burning hand above Solphie's chest, the heat of it warping the air around it, the magma within it dripping like molten lava, falling onto Solphie's exposed skin.
It hissed as it made contact, the sound reminiscent of butter sizzling in a pan, the scent of burning flesh filling the air.
Solphie screamed in agony, her body convulsing as the magma burned into her, her flesh deforming as the flesh melted and blistered.
"Ahhhhhhhh! Arghhhhh!" Solphie's screams echoed through the chamber, a chilling symphony of pain and suffering. But Sofie was far from done.
She wanted to hear her scream, to see her suffer, to know that she was feeling even a fraction of the pain and anger that Sofie herself was experiencing.
Sofie said in anger, "If I can't enjoy Lucian then I won't let father enjoy you."
She was about to drive her magma-infused fist into Solphie's chest, to feel her ribs crack and her heart burst under the force of her blow, when a hand stopped her, gripping her wrist with a strength that belied its appearance.
Sofie whirled around, her eyes wide with rage and surprise, ready to lash out at whoever dared to interrupt her.
"You dare stop me?" Sofie's voice was a low growl, But the words died in her throat as she saw who it was. Her father, Hakon Ironfang, stood behind her, his face a mask of calm disapproval, his eyes like pools of dark, fathomless water.
She body shaking with a mix of fear and anger. Her breathing became heavy and fast, her heart pounding so hard in her chest that she thought it might burst.
A strong headache began to throb at her temples, her vision swimming as she stared up at her father, her body trembling with a mix of fear and defiance
"Fath..Father? I was.. just..No.. I mean.." she stammered, her words trailing off as she tried to form a coherent sentence, to explain her actions, to make him understand.
But the words wouldn't come, her tongue feeling thick and unwieldy in her mouth, her mind a jumble of thoughts and emotions.
Hakon said nothing, just continued to look at her, his expression unreadable. And then, suddenly, Sofie's world went black, her body collapsing to the ground in a heap, her consciousness fleeing as she fainted from the sheer intensity of her emotions and fear she felt.
Hakon turned his gaze to Solphie, who was still screaming in pain, her chest a mess of burned and blistered flesh, the smell of burned meat and cooled lava filling the air.
"Heal her," Hakon commanded, his voice a low rumble, and the guard nodded, his focus never wavering from his task.
The guard rushed to her side, his hands glowing with a soft, healing light as he began to tend to her wounds
Hakon bent down and scooped Sofie up into his arms, carrying her from the room as gently as if she were a child, leaving Solphie to her screams and the guard to his healing.
