[Past]
"I've always wondered.... if I could go back in time, would I resist changing the past like in the movies? Would I just let things unfold as they were meant to?
But if I had the chance... even if I couldn't alter anything, even if I couldn't speak to her... just seeing my mother smile again might be enough to make me happy."
[Present]
June 6, 2009.
I woke up in my room. But I was supposed to be dead.
I had jumped from the hospital building..! I should have died. Yet, somehow, I was here. Back in time. Had fate given me a second chance? A chance to change everything? To stop the future that would take my mother away?
My mind raced, trying to make sense of it all, but then-
"YUNI....! Breakfast's almost ready! Come down!!"
My mother's voice.
I froze as my breath caught in my throat. It had been so long since I'd heard it, warm and full of life. Before I knew it, my feet moved on their own, and I ran downstairs.
I stopped behind the door, my heart pounding. There she was, standing by the stove, humming softly as she prepared breakfast. The sight of her, so familiar, so heartbreakingly real it made my chest tighten. Tears welling up in my eyes as i rubbed them with my arms, she turned and saw me, her smile faded into concern.
"What's wrong?" she asked gently. "Did you have a bad dream?"
I couldn't speak. I just nodded, trying to keep my voice steady, but my throat burned.
She wiped her hands and beckoned me over. "Come on, go sit. Breakfast's almost ready."
I listened, my legs weak beneath me.
I wasn't sure what had brought me back here. I didn't know how much time I had. But one thing was clear... this time, I wouldn't let her die.
As she placed the breakfast in front of me, she gave me a worried look.
"Are you feeling better now? If you're not up to it, you can stay home today. I'll inform Miss Elish."
I quickly shook my head. "It's okay. I'm fine now. You don't need to call anyone."
She didn't look convinced. "Are you sure?" Her voice was soft but firm. "If something's bothering you, you don't have to hide it. You can tell me anything."
I hesitated for a moment, then forced a small smile. "...Okay."
But deep down, I knew I couldn't tell her the truth. Not yet..!
