Night fell.
The door to Kushina's room was suddenly pushed open, and a figure stood in the doorway.
"Get dressed and come out," came Makoto's voice.
Kushina's heart trembled as she got dressed and stood up.
Makoto wouldn't do this without a reason — could it be that he had found out something?
The rest of the household was already asleep.
Ayari came out wearing a robe and asked what was going on.
Makoto told her to go back to sleep, saying he had something to take care of.
Ayari glanced at Kushina, who had finished dressing and walked out, but said nothing and returned to her room.
"Follow me."
Makoto led Kushina out of the Hokage residence.
The streets were sparsely populated, though the streetlights still glowed.
The Hokage and a beautiful red-haired woman walked side by side through the night.
As Kushina hesitated whether to ask where they were going, Makoto suddenly spoke.
"Naruto."
Kushina instinctively paused.
"Naruto. What do you think of that name?"
Makoto turned his head to look at her, revealing a smile. "How about Hyuga Naruto?"
To Kushina, that smile looked like the smile of a devil.
Panic gradually filled her eyes as she realized where Makoto had led her — the Konoha prison!
Makoto smiled warmly at Kushina. "Haven't you always wanted to see him? I'll grant you that wish tonight, and let him share in the joy of Naruto's arrival."
"No!" Kushina's eyes widened as she took a step back, trying to escape.
"Don't... Don't do this!"
Makoto's tone remained pleasant. "What's wrong? Don't you want to share this wonderful news with the person you love most?"
"No, no, don't!" Kushina shook her head repeatedly, retreating step by step, her eyes filled with terror.
Makoto walked slowly toward her and said, "What are you afraid of? He loves you so much; he'll surely be happy for you."
Kushina, in a state of panic, dropped to her knees before him, grabbing the hem of his clothes and pleading, "Makoto, please don't do this! Let's go back! I was wrong, I admit it!"
Unmoved, Makoto asked, "What did you do wrong?"
Kushina immediately confessed everything: "I shouldn't have wanted to abort the baby. I shouldn't have pressured Rin to help me with that. I was wrong, I know I was wrong. I'll keep the baby, Makoto. Please, let's go back..."
Terrified, she remained kneeling, begging Makoto desperately.
The Konoha prison was already in a remote area, and at this hour, there wasn't a single soul around besides them.
No one but Makoto was there to witness the sight of this beautiful red-haired woman humbling herself, kneeling on the ground in desperation.
Makoto lifted her chin with one hand, making her look up at him, lightly patting her cheek as he said, "What's this? Is the baby in your womb no longer your own child? Don't talk about him like he's some commodity. You're his mother, aren't you?"
Kushina quickly nodded and said, "Yes, I'm his mother. I'll take good care of him. I'll love him dearly from now on!"
Makoto smiled faintly, crouching down to look her in the eyes as tears streamed down her face. "It looks like you care more about your image in Minato's heart than your own child, huh?"
Tears streamed uncontrollably from Kushina's eyes, but she forced a smile and said, "Makoto, I will try my best to fulfill my duties as a mother. Let's go back. It's late—let me serve you and help you rest, okay?"
Makoto let out a cold chuckle. "But not long ago, you, as a mother, were ready to personally kill your own child."
"I was wrong, I truly know I was wrong. I'll never dare do that again," Kushina repeated desperately, her greatest fear at this moment being Minato finding out about everything.
She had asked Rin for help with the abortion precisely to avoid that.
Makoto asked, "Are you really that afraid of seeing Minato?"
Kushina could only nod. "Makoto, as long as I don't have to go in there, I'll do whatever you want."
Makoto smiled serenely. "Why are you thinking like that? Minato loves you so much. No matter what you've done or become, I think he'll still accept you. Don't underestimate his love for you."
Kushina looked at him blankly, only to feel her body suddenly become weightless and lift off the ground against her will.
She realized in horror that Makoto was once again walking toward Konoha Prison, and she could only float helplessly behind him.
The prison was eerily quiet.
Ever since the previous riot, all serious criminals had been purged.

Makoto walked steadily deeper into the prison, ignoring Kushina's desperate pleas behind him.
The prisoners in nearby cells, upon seeing Makoto, began loudly begging for mercy, calling out to the Hokage to spare them.
Makoto ignored them all, walking straight to the innermost part of the prison.
Beyond that lay the special containment room that had once held the Fourth Raikage.
Minato, however, was not confined there—after all, he wasn't like the Raikage with an overwhelmingly powerful physical body.
He was confined in a cell just outside the special room, and the conditions weren't too harsh.
He received three meals a day, along with fresh clothes, books, and some small items for entertainment.
Rin was detained directly across from him.
Makoto and Kushina stopped at a spot not far from the cell.
They could see the two people inside, but those inside couldn't see them.
The moment Kushina laid eyes on the person she had long yearned for, she was instantly dazed.
He seemed much more haggard, his eyes lacking the brightness they once held...
Makoto asked from beside her, "What's wrong? Happy to see your beloved?"
Kushina remained silent.
Makoto gently placed his hand on her stomach, lightly stroking it. "Now, I want you to go in and tell him face to face that you're pregnant. The child is mine, and his name is Naruto."
Kushina shook her head in terror.
She didn't dare speak loudly here for fear that the person inside might hear.
She could only plead with Makoto with her eyes.
With a smile, Makoto continued, "You also need to tell him that you're living a happy life now and that you hope he'll bless you and our child."
"No..." Kushina murmured, on the verge of collapse.
"Don't be like this, Makoto. Please, I beg you, don't do this."
Makoto gripped her chin, sneering. "Tell me, wouldn't our child be heartbroken if he knew his own mother didn't want him and even tried to kill him with her own hands?"
"I'm just seeking a bit of justice for my son. I suggest you behave yourself. Otherwise, tomorrow you'll witness the man you love most being executed by beheading."
As he spoke, he lovingly stroked Kushina's cheek and said softly, "Be good. Go on now."
