Looking at the wrecked New York below and Tohka holding another girl in her arms, Thor frowned. Before he came, his father had told him that a guardian similar to Tohka had descended to Earth.
He was told to come find that person and, if possible, bring her back. But from the looks of it, she had already been found by Tohka.
Thor quickly pushed that thought aside. He knew even if Tohka had found her, it wouldn't matter. His father wouldn't say anything, and that person was probably the one responsible for the chaos below.
After understanding the situation, Thor didn't hesitate. He held his hammer and charged at Graviton, clearly unaware of the guy's power.
"Hey, wait—don't rush in, that guy..."
Before Tohka could finish, Thor had already fallen from the sky and crashed into the ground, creating a massive pit. His hammer lay on the ground beside him.
"Why is everyone on my side such a pig teammate? Thor, you clearly have ranged attacks, so why are you obsessed with melee," Tohka shouted in frustration at the fallen Thunder God.
While she knew he was probably fine, this was just embarrassing. The mighty Thor had barely arrived and already kissed the pavement.
"Tohka, my men have arrived. I'll have them stall that guy. You take that girl in your arms to the Helicarrier. That way you can go all out. Also, don't drag this out—New York has already suffered heavy losses. You need to end this fight quickly."
Just then, Nick Fury's voice came through to Tohka's earpiece. At the same time, from somewhere unknown, an arrow flew out, striking the Graviton's arm.
"Ah!" Graviton screamed in pain and quickly looked around to see who had launched the sneak attack.
"Now's your chance—go!" Fury shouted to Tohka.
Not that he needed to—she had already acted. Holding Miku, she accelerated to her top speed and turned into a violet flash, disappearing from Graviton's sight.
"You..."
Watching Tohka vanish in anger, Graviton prepared to give chase. But just then, another arrow flew in, followed by a red shield and spider webs. Clearly, it wasn't just Fury's agents, but also Spider-Man had arrived.
"Hmm?"
Now being attacked from multiple angles, the Graviton summoned several slabs of stone to shield himself. But by the time he managed to block the assault, Tohka had already disappeared entirely.
"RAAAHH!!"
With a furious, almost feral roar, the Graviton went berserk. He had now marked Tohka as his prime target and couldn't be bothered with anything else. He flew off toward the outskirts of New York.
Meanwhile, Tohka made a sharp turn in midair and flew toward the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Once aboard, she landed.
"Take the girl to the medical bay—check for any injuries," Nick Fury instructed as Tohka entered carrying Miku. His focus remained on the monitors, coordinating the battle with the Graviton.
"Director, Iron Man has returned and is back in the fight. Thor has also broken free from Graviton's gravity and joined in," Hill reported to Fury. Tohka ignored them and headed straight for the medical room with Miku in her arms.
"Are you alright? You know, your power rampage earlier nearly destroyed you."
Tohka asked, handing Miku over to the medics and then sitting beside her with concern.
"I'm fine. Just… can't use my power right now,"
Miku replied with a relieved smile, her big eyes locked onto Tohka. Then, to Tohka's surprise, she reached up and gently touched Tohka's face.
"U-uh... uh... uh..."
Tohka was startled by the action and finally remembered something—Miku's orientation seemed... questionable.
"Ah, right—I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Miku Izayoi. Nice to meet you."
Seeing Tohka's reaction, Miku paused, then realized she hadn't introduced herself yet.
"All right, enough chitchat. That guy's gone completely insane. You need to get back out there,"
Fury's big face suddenly popped up on a nearby monitor, breaking the awkward tension.
"Huh? What's wrong? With that many people, you still can't handle him? He's not that strong, right?"
Tohka frowned. Graviton was annoying, but nowhere near Apocalypse's level. The others should be able to handle it.
What Tohka saw left her stunned—the Graviton had ripped Manhattan from the earth, and it was now floating in the sky. The sight was both breathtaking and terrifying.
"I see. Sorry, Miku—I've gotta go."
Tohka could no longer sit still. What a joke—never mind how many would die if it dropped. Her house was also there! Being Chinese, she couldn't handle the idea of losing her property lightly. Also, the atmosphere between her and Miku was getting really weird.
"Mm."
Miku didn't try to stop her. She cooperated with the medics doing her check-up.
"Whew, finally some fresh air." Once outside, Tohka looked up at the airborne Manhattan. Now she understood why the others couldn't stop him—if that thing fell, the consequences would be catastrophic.
"Alright, I better hurry over."
Tohka didn't hesitate any longer. She accelerated to her limit, flying toward Manhattan, still wondering—she didn't even know the guy, so why did he hate her so much? Clearly, someone was plotting against her.
