It has been 2 years since I left the Straw Hat Pirates. Was this a difficult choice to make? Yes. But I did it to make sure that my now 2-year-old son, Henry. Although part of me wished I hadn't done it yet, there was no turning back. It was a day like any other when I saw William standing on the windowsill with a message on his talent. I hesitated for a moment before taking the letter. Pretty Kitty, please, can we meet up somewhere and talk about what happened? I didn't mean to break your heart 2 years old. The crew and I are in the area. I made a promise to your father to make you my bride. I haven't forgotten that promise. I would like to see my son as well. I don't know what else I can say to make it up to you. Please give me one more chance. Love, Zoro.
I held the letter close to me with mixed emotions running through my mind. I knew that Henry needed his father, but I would never truly forgive Zoro for what had happened 2 years ago. I walked over to Henry was in his room playing with his toys. "Henry, your father's in the area. Would you like to see him?"
The little boy looked up at me with joy in his eyes. "Daddy's here?"
I let out a smile. "Yes. Daddy and the others will be stopping by." The smile dropped from my face when I heard a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it when I noticed that it was Zoro and the others. "Zoro."
Zoro smiled. "Hey. Can I see my son?"
I nodded. "He's in his room."
Zoro nodded and walked upstairs to Henry's room. He knocked on the door. "Henry?"
Henry glanced up. "D...daddy?" A smile came across the small boy's face. "DADDY!!"
"Yeah, buddy. I'm here."
Henry ran to his father, hugging him. "Momma said that you and the others would be here."
Meanwhile, back downstairs, I was in the living room with the others. It was weird and awkward knowing that, in some way, this was my choice. I stood up and walked out, not wanting to make this any worse. The full weight of this finally came to the surface, and tears. "What have I done?" I thought to myself. "I've taken a child away from his father."
Luffy broke the silence. "Should we do anything? I can't bear to see Kat like this."
Chealse shook her head. "I wouldn't get involved in this, Luffy. I know how you and the rest of your crew feel. But every choice Kat's ever made always come back to kick her in the ass. This is the way of being an assassin."
Nami rose to her feet. "I'm not going to sit here and allow this decision to break Kat's heart. I might not understand all the choices that she's made over the years, but for her to suffer because of this isn't ok."
Chealse sighed. "Nami, Kat's suffered all her life. Throughout her life, all she's known is suffering."
Nami shook her head. "I don't care. I'm going to her."
Sanji grabbed her arm. "Nami, Chealse's right. Getting involved in this won't be a good one. We don't know if Kat will have a panic attack or not. Don't you remember what happened the last time?"
Nami nodded. "Yeah, I do. But we can't just stay in here and do nothing."
Luffy placed his hat on her head. "Sometimes the hardest thing to do is nothing."
A few minutes later, Henry came downstairs with Zoro. Henry looked around. "Where's momma?"
Zoro looked up, noticing that I was outside. "She's outside. Stay in here, buddy, I'll be right back." He opened the door and walked over to placing a hand on my shoulder. "Pretty Kitty?"
I turned around, and as if on instinct, kissed him. "Zoro, I'm sorry. For everything."
Zoro smiled. "No, my love. I'm the one who should be apologizing. No one is more important than you and Henry. Give me another chance?"
I nodded. "Yes. There's not a day that I don't regret what I've done." I rested my head on his chest, listening to his heart beating. "Zoro? Can you stay here? With Henry and me?"
Zoro played with my hair. "Of course, Pretty Kitty. I'd do anything for you and our son."
Henry opened the door. He was curious about what had happened to Zoro and me. "Momma? Daddy?"
I looked up. "Yeah, what is it, Henry?"
"Are you and Daddy coming back inside?"
"Yes, buddy. We'll be right there."
Zoro and I joined Henry and the others in the living room a few moments later. I sat on the couch as Sanji handed me a cup of tea. I manage a smile. "Thank you, Sanji. This means a lot to me. I have to apologize to everyone for what I've done. I shouldn't have done what I did. But I didn't know what else to do."
Luffy smiled warmly. "It's ok, Kat. We understand why. Do you think that you would be able to rejoin my crew?"
I look at Henry. "I would like that very much. I know that Henry would like it as well."
Nami smiled. "This is a good sign. I'm not gonna lie, Kat, I've missed you."
I lay my head on Zoro's shoulder. "I've missed shooting the shit with you as well, Nami." I glanced over at Henry, who had fallen asleep. I looked up at Zoro, who smiled.
"Don't worry, Momma, I got this." He stood up and picked up Henry before taking him upstairs to his room.
