Damien sank his teeth into her neck and began drinking her blood. It was a ritual she was getting quite used to; after all, it was a daily occurrence. At first, just being in close proximity to him made her uncomfortable, given everything that had happened to her over the years. But strangely, she was beginning to feel accustomed to her new life.
She attributed it all to Emily, watching her help regain some of the spark she had once lost. After he finished drinking her blood, they returned to planting the tobacco seeds. Most of the land was intended for farming.
After they were done for the day, they went in to retire. This then turned into their usual cycle. During the day, they tended to the crops to ensure they were growing properly. They continued this routine for months until the plants were ready to be harvested.
His end goal was to create cigars from the tobacco, starting by drying the leaves.
