Thud! Thud! Shatter!
Sound of metal falling, and plates breaking sounded.
The entire shop started trembling, as if an earthquake was happening. The young brown-skinned boy who was carrying five glass plates with food crumbs and five metal glasses over them fell to the ground, staring at the purple-haired man in horror.
"...James, I would appreciate it if you don't joke around." Velmire's voice was low, his face cold—but his aura… terrifying, almost disgusting in how heavy it felt.
Even Kirin and Sebastian grew cautious, preparing defense spells in the back of their minds, but—
The cold smile never left Johan's face. He observed closely as he saw Velmire's muscles twitching—if he attacked, his body would explode.
'This evolved version of Spirit Pact is as overpowered as I imagined.' Johan suppressed the urge to laugh out loud, but raised his hands in surrender.
"It was not a joke. Would I ever make such a disgusting joke with my best friend?" Johan said word by word, his tone friendly.
"Whaa, best friend?" Orihime's eyes widened—even more so when she saw Velmire actually becoming composed.
'Am I about to become a sex slave to this man!?' The thought sent a chill down her spine.
"Explain." Velmire got back on his chair, but Johan stood up, startling everyone.
Johan walked up to the still-trembling brown-skinned boy with a soft smile, picking up all the metal glasses, then helping him get up and passing the dirty utensils to him.
He moved the broken glass of plates with his leather shoe, saying warmly, "Don't worry, we will pay for this," gently patting his shoulder.
He finally got back to his seat, crossing his arms. "I am planning to attack the Royal Castle in Visteria. I need Orihime's help to invade the Aurelian Empire," he said in a low, enthusiastic whisper, as if talking about the weather.
Both Velmire's and Orihime's pupils dilated—but there was still some relief in Orihime's eyes. At least she wasn't becoming a sex slave.
While Kirin and Sebastian stared with wide-open mouths toward Johan, who was spilling every secret to their enemies.
"Are you insane? Are you forgetting the contract terms…" Velmire said through gritted teeth, finally opening his mouth after prolonged silence.
All three—Kirin, Sebastian, and Orihime—shared glances with each other at the word contract, definitely curious.
"I am not. Paper magic can be used from more than 600 kilometers away and doesn't need connection with its user, as if the magic itself is an independent creature instead of just the aether of the user. And even if, let's say, someone gets to her, she can always escape with paper figurine teleportation and teleport away to your side before anyone even recognizes her." Johan explained calmly, his voice loud enough to be heard only by the four of them.
Orihime's face froze at Johan's detailed knowledge of her magic. It was like he knew everything about Paper Magic—and her ability, Paper Crane, which was supposed to be a national secret of the Crimson Empire.
'Who was this James guy again?'
Velmire still wasn't sure. Frowning, he declared as clearly as he could, "There is no way I'm letting Orihime enter the Aurelian Empire. With someone like Radhaan being there—he can move at the speed of light—there's no way she can escape if she gets his attention… and also that newbie Leor. Radhaan publicly treats him like an equal. It's too risky…"
Johan's grin widened. "I will personally deal with Radhaan and Leor. Orihime can survive the other Divine Generals on her own, and you can always keep an eye on her," he explained calmly.
Velmire still looked conflicted—but no one asked Orihime for her opinion, or why Velmire seemed so eager to try to help this guy attack the Aurelian Empire and still listen to him.
Johan's grin disappeared, his face becoming stoic and his eyes cold. "You don't have a choice…"
Velmire froze. He felt a deep sting in his heart, a strong desire to itch his chest inside out. His eyes widened, but he finally sighed.
Turning his head toward Orihime's dark red pupils, "Orihime… can I ask you a favor?" Velmire said with a forced smile.
'Dogshittt!!' Orihime cursed in her mind. 'No one cares about me.'
After chatting about some other things, the group split up. Johan also managed to convince Velmire of one more thing—
They were standing in front of a realistic rabbit made of silver, looking very aesthetic. There was a little red switch-like button at the center of its forehead glowing beautifully.
Johan placed it on the ground. Both Kirin and Sebastian cautiously stared at it, looking for any signs of a trap.
Without caring, Johan pressed it—entering a sealed space instantly.
Lush green forest, tall trees, soft green grass, fresh chilly air that refreshed lungs when breathed through, cloudy skies, and a beautiful waterfall in the center.
Kirin and Sebastian also pressed it, entering the dimension. It could only be described as… peaceful.
This was a similar artifact to where the Aurelian Empire's courtroom rested—but this one was only 20 kilometers big. But this was enough.
Of course, Johan didn't try to get it for free—he paid more than 20,000 golden pounds, which was now nothing to him. He literally had unlimited money.
Melodis was also back, sleeping in the center of the waterfall like a baby—disrespecting all flame birds to ever exist, as they were supposed to be weak to water. But Melodis was literally sleeping under 60,000 psi of it.
Johan, after taking a look around, smiled—pulling out a white piece of paper from the inner pocket of his coat, placing it safely under a heavy rock. As long as this was here, Orihime could teleport here anytime—or send anything.
After all, no one would be able to normally come here.
Johan grinned, leaving the sealed space and manifesting out of thin air at a deserted seashore. The silver rabbit was just under his feet.
Johan picked it up with an evil grin, instantly spreading his long black wings and flying toward the direction of the… dark seas.
After a few seconds of flying, he paused—and pressed the red switch.
He appeared back inside the different dimension—but due to no one holding the artifact in the middle of the air, it harshly crashed down, submerging in the thick waters of the dark seas.
Johan's plan was simple: get lost 40,000 meters inside the most dangerous sea. Even Lucifer, Radhaan, or Leor wouldn't dare roam inside there. Johan was pretty sure Leor had at least an idea that he was alive—surviving an attack from Lucifer or Radhaan was entirely impossible, so this was the only way.
Of course, even the four of them couldn't escape by swimming from the dark sea waters either. That's why Orihime's paper was about to be extremely useful. This technique of hers had infinite range, and from now on, even Velmire started carrying one—because if he met someone like Lucifer, who could move through dimensions, this would be a life-saver.
As long as this piece of paper existed, no matter how much the distance, they could travel instantaneously.
Kirin grinned, seeing Johan's face again. "So… should we start the preparations? Only four days. I'll have to work harder."
Johan suddenly felt a chill deep down his spine.
