I let out a long yawn, stretching my arms above my head like a lazy cat. "Alright, I think that's enough excitement for the night," I murmured, blinking away the sleep that tugged at my eyelids. "I'm really sleepy."
He tilted his head at me, that teasing smile already playing at the corner of his lips.
I glanced down at my bag with a sigh. "Ugh,I don't even have my nightwear.Guess I'm crashing just like this."
He shrugged casually. "You look cute regardless."
I turned away, trying to hide the warmth rushing to my cheeks. "You should get some sleep too."
Before I could even take a step toward the bed, he scooped me up in one sudden, smooth motion and tossed me gently onto the mattress.
"Danny!" I gasped.
He followed right after, wrapping his arms around me and burying his face into my chest like a sleepy kitten. "Mmm… yeah, I'm so tired," he mumbled, voice muffled and teasing. "Let's just sleep like this."
"Wait—what?" I stammered, wide-eyed and flustered. "What are you doing? Go back to your room!"
He looked up with the most innocent expression he could fake and said, "I can't. I'm scared of the dark, remember?"
I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms with mock seriousness. "Oh please, I know all your little dramas. You're not scared of the dark. You're scared of missing me."
He smirked. "Busted."
I gave him a light smack on the arm and turned over, but his arms tightened around my waist, pulling me close again.
"Just five minutes," he whispered against my hair. "Then I'll pretend to go."
"Five minutes," I agreed, but we both knew he wasn't going anywhere.
As we lay there, tangled in warmth and whispers, the silence felt like the safest place in the world.
