Family members chapter 31
As krow got in his car and took off the events that happened tonight still ringed in his mind. These events were intense they were insane it was so unrealistic that maybe he didn't believe it
Himself. His mind literally trying to convince himself that the events weren't even real from having the pizza with Melissa to meeting the mad scientist. Maybe it was all just a big hoax maybe I made it all up in my mind. All these thoughts deep within his mind as he traversed the highway of the city the night time lights flashing inside his car. Ultimately it didn't matter these thoughts wouldn't change the truth of what happened he did blow up the building.
When krow got back to his sisters place he instantly fell asleep just to be awoke by some kids."hey uncle krow!!!!! Wake up!!!!" Said a boy probably about 9 years old with a truck going across uncle krow and a girl probably 12 years old. Watching laughing at the situation going down. The two kids the daughter almsot identical to the mother tall with brown eyes and brown hair. While the son had bright blond hair and blue eyes clearly from his father."well it seems you wanna play huh how about you play like this." Said krow as he started to tickle the kid and the son and daughter laughed as he fully awoke krow out of his sleep now.
"Hey kids get ready for school!! Eat your breakfast brush your teeth and don't miss the bus!!" Said their mother putting the breakfast on the table." You got enough food for one more huh?" Said krow sarcastically."yeah can uncle have some too!!" Said the boy trying to convince his mom." Thanks Kyle and Sadie you know you got to put butter on your pancakes come on now! Kyle use your utensils don't eat with your hands buddy or look they'll be all sticky." Said krow trying to brighten the kids moods and maybe make them forget the fact they have to go to school.
"Hey uncle you like my spider man back pack more then her Barbie back pack right?" Said Kyle trying to get krow to agree with him. Cindy looked over past the kitchen to see the kids reaction as she was cleaning dishes."well I think both of those things are pretty cool afterall who dosent like Spider-Man!!! Pew pew and who dosent like Barbie dolls even I do!!" Said krow trying to make them both feel appreciated at the given time.
While scrolling through the channels trying to find the kids Cartoon Network he saw it, and well Cindy did too. She stopped what she was doing stopped cleaning the dishes to see it.
The headlines on the news the economy building blown up as people were investigating what exactly went down. Tv reporters all around cop cars and investigators galore everywhere in the building corpse and around it. A sudden extreme sense of guilt rushed over krow like a lump stuck in his throat. Would they catch him could they catch him? There's no way that could actually happen right? Fuck." Hey uncle why do you look so blue in your face." Said Kyle as he picked up his school bag and so did his sister."okay say your goodbyes to your uncle and go get on the bus okay?" Said Cindy distracting the kids away from him. Cindy coming back and trying to question krow now." Hey what happened don't worry they're gonna find this terrorist and he'll get what he deserves look after the tournament started everyone's been worried it may end up becoming a yearly thing we can't let those kids now about that krow." Said Cindy trying to get krow to agree with her.
Clearly they had misinterpreted what eachother was thinking but it didn't matter. Krow decided the best option was just to agree with Cindy even if she wouldn't fully understand what he was worried about in actuality."yeah I understand that but still it's insane that something like that could happen the city let it happen and the mayor even promoted it it seemed like. I won't let something happen to those kids ever especially something like that don't worry Cindy" said krow clearly trying to comfort her afterall krow knew how to comfort people since nobody ever comforted him. Though he knew it was time for him to leave to he realized Cindy just needed to be left alone in her thoughts for now atleast.
While krow clearly did alleviate any doubts or misdirections Cindy may have had it still wasn't enough to fix the broken situation of an absent father. The lack of a father or father figure for kids especially a young boy to look up too.
"Hey I'm going to go see a friend today Cindy wish me luck". Telling her that he was about to leave and go see Melissa he needed to talk to her about what just happened to him and see if she had any solutions or helpful advice he could use. He grabbed the handle door and walked out the door. Only to see the police at the door. Oh fuck.
